The room with the kitchen was so worth it. The private parent room was so needed after being on the road for 4 days with kids. I highly recommended this place. 5 stars!

The pictures on the site didnt show the view we were unfortunate to get. Im sure some of the suites have the beautiful view the pictures showed, and that was the main reason for booking this family trip...very disappointed to arrive to find we had a tree as our view and a tiny balcony. We did NOT use the balcony as there wasnt enough room on it for 4 ppl and looking at a tree was NOT appealing. Spoke to owner, who informed me that I was already getting the room at a discount and I should be happy to be lucky enough to be on the waterfront! We were offered to be refunded one night and leave or 10% discount and I was told it was my fault for not calling ahead(even though I did). Not impressed with the condensing tone and being told I should be happy regardless, its just a bad view. Also, note, if you dont get your towels on chair before 8am, you will likely be out of luck. Maintenace guy, Bruce, was very kind, very helpful...he did everything he could to accomodate. I was travelling with special needs kids and a senior who is in treatment for cancer. This was supposed to be a relaxing and important time to be connected and spend quality time together. If i knew ahead of time that I wouldve been dealing with this, I wouldve looked at other accomodations from the start.

Had a wonderful stay. For next time I’ll remember to bring condiments, paper towel, salt and pepper etc. They have beach chairs and loungers for use and beach towels. Lots of BBQs for your use. Junction 3 coffee shop nearby and the Sage Pub. The lake is warm but still refreshing. Would stay at this place again for sure.

The property is a little old school but is right on the beach and well maintained. The room are pretty basic but clean. You can walk to a lot of restaurants in the area as the location is fairly central.

We enjoyed our stay at the Desert Surfside. The staff were so kind, met a lot of great people, tons of kids for ours to play with. The sand and water were great. Parking onsite, walkable into the main street. Overall it was a great place to stay, we would stay there again!
