We stayed in this hotel for the weekend . We found the room clean and quiet. The staff were most helpful. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice. We would stay in this conveniently located hotel near the train station again
I had a really great room huge in fact with a really comfy bed. The staff are really friendly and polite. I could not fault My stay here. Great choice of breakfast. Working in Asker the hotel is very well located in the centre so easy to get to other places.
The hotel itself is quite nice and there is plenty of choice at breakfast. I have eaten in the evening in the restaurant a few times and had no complaints there either. However, the rooms are a bit hit and miss it would seem. My first stay was amazing as it was in one of the newly refurbished rooms. My most recent stay was not and unfortunately left me particularly tired. For some reason all the rooms seem to be single beds. Although not unmanageable, it's not always comfortable. However, I would suggest that people avoid the rooms above reception as those are particularly noisy. It appears that people congregate outside the foyer which is right below the room windows (I was in room 106).
Stayed here for two nights as it is a 5mins walk to my office in Asker. It is comfortable, good, clean and their staff are very pleasant. It is also just a 5mins walk to the train station, mall and restaurants. Mcdonalds is just next to the hotel if you are feeling lazy to walk far for food or a change besides hotel food.
Offten staing in this hotel chain. Only best feelings. Both resption and floor stuff meke good job. Comfort rooms and one of the best breakfast boards I every tried in the scandinsvian hotels. Coming back soon again!
A Scandic experience below average. Hotel is quite dull, rooms outdates. Heater was an old fashioned electric radiator, but with some central malfunctional control. After talking to the reception the advice was 'to pull out the plug (not power though) to control it manually. In the bathroom some interior parts - hook, shelfs - where missing, almost like it was stolen by a previous guest... The restaurant served an underaverage burger in a really dark setting.
I am very satisfied with my stay in Scandic Asker, service is excellent on all level. Breakfast is my favorite, varied and delightful, also with "homemade" things, egg, bacon, bakery... Helpful and kind hostess staff.
Nice hotel a short walk from Asker Station (once you know the way!) Easy train ride to/from central Oslo or the airport. Very friendly staff. Nice meal in the restaurant efficiently served. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Comfortable and quiet room.
I should think most reviews by travellers from the UK for Norwegian hotels will fall into the business category. Unless you have won the Euromillions lottery, a weeks jaunt up to Norway staying in hotels and eating in restaurants is eye-wateringly expensive. Scandic Asker is typical of most of the business-style hotels in the Nordic area. Clean comfortable, functional and not cheap! how about £47 for a burger and two beers! Really easy to find from the motorway, at this time of year (November) important as it goes dark very early, it has plentiful parking in an underground car-park. Make sure you ask the reception staff how to pay for your parking (not controlled by the hotel) as parking fines in this part of the world are steep- speaking from experience from a previous trip to Norway at a different hotel. The bedrooms a re well-appointed and comfortable and quiet with excellent black-out blinds which are necessary in the summer months. Breakfast was the usual buffet style with a wide choice of foods to suit every taste.
Stayed at the hotel for a course. The room was a bit noisy, but OK. Breakfast would have been better with real eggs in the scrambled eggs. The staff was very nice and helpfull! Big plus! Could definitely stay here for business again.
