Restaurant ask at Thon hotel Vettre took me by surprise. Nice atmosphere, delicious food and great service. Always thought this was just a boring conference hotel, but they've done a great job with the restaurant!
My daughter and I stayed at the lovely friendly Thon Hotel in vettre asker for the weekend staff were very helpful and kind excellent buffet breakfast and our room was clean and lovely and warm I would go there again not far from asker station just had a great time with my family who live in norway so looking forward to another visit in the summer
I went for a conference, and lets face it, that is what a lot of people use this hotel for (I assume), the first thing that face you when you arrive, is the expensive carpark... so my hotel and food was paid for by someone else, but I had to pay for the parking, so this sucks as it was 150 nok per day, which might not be a lot in downtown Oslo, but out here in the sticks, I was expecting free parking as a guest.. so.. ok, the room was nice. a HUGE flatscreen TV (compared to the size of the room). and that was nice. there was a minibar, but I did not touch that as... yep, expensive as can be. The staff was friendly and helpful. the rooms for our meetings was nice, and the food (lunch and dinner) was excellent! (I did not manage to test breakfast). the rooms are in external buildings, so you have to go outside, to get to the lobby, which in the dead of winter can be a bit chilly.. they have a little pool which is very nice, but like in most places in Norway, the changing area is one huge open area.. where you shower together and change together (separate for males and female), one day Norwegians will create private showers... one day. the bed was nice (if a little on the soft side), the shower was very nice (if too hot, and too easy to change the temp by accident). so... I would not say not to go back again. but next time I will car-pool there.
I stayed here for a work seminar. The location is quiet, yet close to public transportation. My room was spacious and comfortable. I enjoyed the gym, which should be bigger. The best feature of the hotel is the food. All meals were of high quality, and the selection was good. My only complaint is that your ironing equipment was of bad quality and hard to use, and located in a strange spot.
I was alone and on a business trip. I worked with my pc sit just closed to the fireplace, wich was super nice and warm especially in those rainy days. Indoor swimming pool is available, but often frequented by children with parents. There should be also a sauna. A small gym is available in another building, where actually was my room. Rooms are confortable, quiet and clean. A big parking lot is just in front of the hotel, of course not for free. Restaurant is fine and service super (they keep some cigarettes at the reception if you run out of them)
Excellent service, and a classic Thon breakfest. -The best breakfest. As I live not far from the hotel I sometimes like to go eat breakfest here before Work. Pancakes, hot meals, fresh orangejuice and nice yougurts keep dragging me bck.
We decided very suddenly to escape our every day hustle and bustle, and came across this Hotel by chance and went for it. It has not disappointed one bit. Staff is very helpful and kind. The rooms are clean and relatively up to date. The breakfast buffet was a jaw dropper, absolutely stunning and not to mention massive müsli/toppings-bar for oat porridge and yoghurt. We were lucky to come here at a quiet time and enjoyed the pool hall all by ourselves with our two year old. I would definitely come her for an escape again. It's clean, inviting, professional, big and not far from anything. The location is quiet and scenic and I really get a spa vibe from this Hotel. The local shopping mall covers the high street shops and basic needs and Oslo is not far away. Photo is from the restaurant
We (100 people) stayed two days/one night for a seminar. The hotel looks kind of shabby on the outside, but is nicer on the inside. There's no free parking so I had to pay NOK 200,- for 30 hours. That is not a nice welcome. My wing man at dinner got a dirty glass. He asked for a clean one, and got another dirty one... After dinner, we went upstairs to the bar. Immediately, they startet to play loud and juvenile music. I asked them nicely if they could 1) turn down the volume and 2) switch to some more adult music, as we actually wanted to talk to each other. The bartender told me he was going to, but nothing happened. Good food (breakfast/dinner). Mini bar in the rooms. Nice beds.
We booked 5 rooms for five families in this hotel for 4 nights during our vacation to Norway. The hotel is far from city center. The good thing is bus stop is close to the hotel, which takes you to city center in 45 min. The rooms are small, especially if you open the sofa for third person. Kids loved the hotel, especially the game room, swimming pool, open area for cycling. This is a good hotel to stay with families, especially if you do not want to be in city center all day. The breakfast menu & the restaurant is good. The hotel is very good value for money, priced reasonably compared to hotels in Oslo.
This was a nice hotel at a great location! The family room had a nice size and was clean. The breakfast buffet is something to look forward too as it had lots of variety, cold and hot dishes, fruits and newly baked bread.
