Swissotel Nankai Osaka

Loved staying here! From the moment we checked in we could tell that we picked the right place to stay for our first trip to Osaka. The entire staff were all amazing. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent from the lobby to dining and the rooms. We had a view of Namba Parks which was beautiful day or night! I comfortably recommend staying here if you want the best! E N J O Y :)

Need more signs in the bus / train terminal to show guests the route leading to the hotel lobby.

for how much i paid, i think i could have gotten a bigger room.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in Japan- we traveled to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and the Swissotel was the best stay we had our time in Japan. Their breakfast was amazing- although expensive, it's definitely worth the money! This hotel was also close to the downtown area of Osaka, so it was just a 5 minute walk away to some yummy ramen!! Can't wait to go back again!

The one complaint that we have is that we booked two rooms months ahead of time, not only that we didn't have two rooms next to each other, they were on different floor. After complaining to the manager, they finally put us to two older rooms (lower grade than what we had booked) on the same floor but didn't give us any discount.

Great location, excellent service, beautiful room. Walking distance from the train station, close to the river, modern accommodation, can't ask for anything more

Located right above train / subway , including direct line to Kansai international airport. Service and rooms are excellent

For aiport to hotel is easy Room is big near all shopping center

My room was a little small. The staff were very rude. First, I prepaid for my stay. So the staff took my credit card and pre-charged me over $100 USD more anyway as a "deposit," like some cheap hotel would do. If I have charges for using the bar or something, charge me as I leave, not some "deposit" fee, when I already paid for the hotel. The staff never even asked me could he charge my card, he just did it...so rude and insulting for an expensive hotel. Staff were rude and negligent, never explaining the system of getting in or out of the hotel to the ground floor. And when I did ask, the staff woman was very derisive and dismissive, as if I should have known how to navigate the complicated elevator system. Getting to and from the hotel by taxi is easy, and the hotel is very conveniently located. However, you should learn the bifurcated elevator system. There are two sets of elevators at different areas of the hotel. One leads from the Lobby to all the rest of the hotel. The other leads from the lobby to the ground floor. No staff ever helped me understand it and for a day it took me forever to find my way around the hotel to the outside world because the Swissotel is connected to the subway system and Namba Parks. After learning the two elevator systems (on my own), it made travel much easier.

The staff at the Swissotel in Osaka couldn't have been more helpful. If we had wanted to change suites, that could have been arranged if we weren't completely satisfied with the one given. But we were totally satisfied. The location is so convenient as it is above a busy shopping area with a good quality department store. It is next to the subway entrance for ease of transport. Osaka is a very clean city as is the hotel. A great 5 star experience.

First of all, getting there from Kansai Airport is very easy. You take the Rapi:t train from the airport for around $13 US Dollars and its final destination after about 35 minutes is Namba Station. Once you exit the train you walk almost right to one of the entrances to the Swissotel Nankai Osaka. Purchase another ticket there on the time of your departure and you are back at the airport. No taxis, bus or subway required. Also, the subway station is right below you and also some train lines. Outside in front of the hotel are the arcades to eat and shop. First-timers will have to get used to the different levels you can exit the hotel. You can get lost quite easily. Housekeeping was good. No waiting for elevators. Courteous staff. Wi-fi in lobby. But overpriced restaurants. I finally tried Kobe beef in the Minami Restaurant on the 10th floor. I wasn't really impressed. I guess I expected more from what I heard of Kobe beef. Almost $300 US Dollars for that. Eat and drink and shop outside the hotel and it will be okay.

Staff were very helpful and spoke English. You take the rapid train in from Kansai Airport and it drops you off right under the hotel. On the way back, the staff carried our luggage down to the train back to the airport...I thought this was a nice touch. The hotel is very convenient to all subways and trains. You would want to eat outside of the hotel (taoyaki, kushi-yaki, soba, udon) so I would not recommend eating in the hotel.

Beautiful room, great view, fantastic location, japanese toilet. I can't think of a better place for staying in Osaka!

We enjoyed the fact that we had a room on the 22nd floor with a great view, and that the hotel is right over the subway station. We eat at the Italian restaurant on the 36th floor--great view, lousy, expensive food.
