We stayed here for two nights after flying into Japan. It was an easy and convenient walk from Namba station with our luggage (we downloaded a google map) late at night. It was a great beginning to our trip and first taste of Japan. The location was great, right in the middle of Den Den Town, close to Namba station with loads of shops and restaurants, walking distance to Dotonbori and on the JR line if you have a JR Pass. There is also a 7/11 directly underneath the hotel. The staff could only really understand basic english, better off to save your complicated questions for a train station info counter. There was a large waiting / rest area near the check in desk and a drinks / supplies corner on the same level. Unlimited hot and cold drinks! Yessss! Would definitely stay here again. It was the only hotel in Japan that we stayed at that had a heated toilet seat which was very exciting for a first timer haha. Would definitely recommend to family / friends and stay here again if i'm ever lucky enough to visit again!
It's location is not good, far away from JR and Subway. The room was clean. However, when I made the room booking, I don't know the cleaning service was excluded. I stayed here for 2 nights, no cleaning service was provided in the said period. But free drink was provided in the pantry. Breakfast is good.
Very clean room. Relatively newly new. Room is not that big but uses the space very efficiently so you still have space for everything you need. Staffs were helpful. Speaks good English. Wouldn't mind going back again.
Well located near the subway, shopping, kombinis, Dotonbori and the Kuromon market. The hotel is clean. It also provides a free drinks and shampoo bar. There is also a microwave oven. Breakfast is ample and is mainly Japanese style. The breakfast area is not too big. The room itself is small and the toilet and shower area is very compact. However I think it serves the purpose if you are in Osaka for a short trip and out wandering about most of the time.
We booked through our Travel Agent and requested a Non-Smoking Room. When we arrived at Midnight and were told our room that was booked was smoking. The staff didn't seem to care much (it could've been the time of night we arrived) and it didn't really give us a good impression to start with. The room featured a huge massage chair in the middle of the room which made moving around annoying and didn't really allow you to lay your suitcases down flat. The bed was comfortable enough once you got over the smell. Bathroom was a standard Japanese unit which was small but functional. The hotel only has one elevator which can cause a bit of congestion during peak hours. The lobby is also not on the ground floor which is strange. The lobby had some rest areas and there were vending machines available. We stayed here in transit from the airport to the RentaCar place so left fairly early but didn't have any further interactions with the hotel staff. The breakfast is in the cafe downstairs. There was a good variety of Asian options and the staff were very friendly. The items we had were tasty and everything was fresh and hot. If we had a non-smoking room it would've been alot more pleasant and I'm sure it is convinient for the surrounding area but as we just needed a nice place to sleep it wasn't the best option we have picked. I wouldn't stay here again as there are lots of other options that are probably better despite being recommended by out Travel Agent.
After a few weeks travelling around Japan (multiple cities and hotels) our last stop was Osaka. We arrived at the hotel which is not the easiest place to get to is using the JR pass to find out that I booked the wrong date. Although the receptionist could hardly speak English, she was very helpful and managed to change the booking for us. The hotel itself is good, rooms small (as is the norm in Japan) but clean.Breakfast was a miss but McDonald's is across the road. From the hotel it is a short walk to the Dotonbori. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
Great location in Denden town and close to Dotonbouri street, Kuromon Market, etc. etc. Free drinks and toiletries in the lobby as well as really cheap coin-operated washing machines and driers. Excellent buffet breakfast (Japanese style) included in the price. Probably the smallest room we have stayed in in Japan but would nevertheless definitely stay here again
Right smack in Den-Den Town, Hotel Hillarys turned out to be a nice surprise of a hotel. While the room was understandably small (my friend and I stayed at a twin sharing room), its other highlights more than make up for the room size. The hotel staff were helpful and courteous, and the beds were comfortable. Plus points for the laundry area, the free luggage storage, wi-fi access, and the range of unlimited beverages and unlimited shampoos/conditioners at the lobby. Best of all, its located near the Nankai-Namba and the Nipponbashi Stations, the Dotonbori area and Kuromon Market, and a number of "konbinis" nearby. All that for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel is very close to 日本橋,黒門市場, and Namba Station, close to many shops (if you like subculture such as anime, games and manga, it is heaven there) and restaurants. Room is a bit small for 3 persons but it is workable, there are drinks machine in the lobby you can refill and try their drinks too. Staffs are kind, they might not all speak well English, but they do their best to solve the question you have. I will come back if i visit the area again.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It was a great time. The hotel very near to the Toy store and not for from Namba Station. They have 7-11 in front of the Hotel and not far from a good Tempura restaurant Here is one of the best Hotel in Osaka that I recommend to my friend.
