Overpriced room, and off season too!!! I paid over $150.00 for a room one night!!!! The coffee pot had mold inside where you poor the water, and then didn't work. And an outrageous security deposit placing a hold on my debit card in access of $200.00. Which made some of my automatic withdraws bounce. I had 2 electric clocks in the room, none worked to set the time. Old Tv's and Cabinetry littered the hallways, which baffles me with the fact that this would hamper an attempt to use for a fire escape. My only mistake was not using Trip Advisor prior to staying at this establishment!
I recently spend the night at this hotel. There is really nothing special about this place. It is pretty much typical for this brand hotel. Don't plan on a big breakfast here which is included with your stay. They had self serve waffle station which has become pretty much standard in most hotels. The hot "buffet" was a small crock pot with some instant scrambled eggs and what looked like sliced ham. There was not much else. I choose instead to go out and grab something at McDonalds.
The people who manage this hotel are very nice and patient with people. They get the food bar full even on a very busy day. The non smoking king room was wonderful and had everything we needed. We were glad they had an opening.
I didn't even make it to the hotel because this manager was absolutely impossible. I booked through Expedia and accidentally hit the wrong date. After 2 weeks of trying to deal with "DON", the manager, he refused to return my calls and refused to refund my reservation. He told Expedia he MIGHT let me reschedule, but won't take my phone calls (9 attempts). He's always, "too busy" and tells the girls he'll call me back.
Seeing old pals and planning a mountain bike trail or two, we chose this location for its proximity to the highway, the local trails and the go-kart/food facilities. The staff was very nice and handled our needs quickly. A comfy, affordable location for all Osage Beach facilities and attractions. Spoiler alert: There is a Culver's right across the street.
My family and I went to the lake for two days to stay with friends and had to get a room for one night and was told to check out by 11 am the rooms were ok and we checked out by 930 and was charged for two nights called to check and the manager is the most rude guy ever he is a scammer and a jerk never will I go back and I would sleep in my car before I would go there again.
I had questions on my charges but the owner/GM was too busy to explain how $200 worth of charges for the stay shows up as over $600 on hold so instead he said "some people can't afford to rent because it ties up their cash". He was grumpy, rude and insulting and that was before I got my room! When I got to the room it smelled so bad the housekeeper asked if I wanted to go to another room but after the check-in fiasco I asked if she had anything for the smell since dealing with the owner would ruin my weekend. We also didn't get to use the pool as it was green and nasty. I have more complaints as well from my friend having her air shut off because the door was open to roaches. It was not a pleasant stay!
This was a great place to stay we had a friends dog with us and they were very accommodating. The Beds were very comfortable and the complementary breakfast was very nice. The Rooms were spacious and the tub in the bathroom was large.
I had booked 2 rooms for a school district for a field trip for our organization. When we checked in, I gave the front desk attendant the exact names of those staying in each room. I signed my registration cards at check-in and was given keys like always. The first night, one of our rooms was called by the front desk and told there was a complaint about noise, then someone from the front desk I assume, came up and knocked on their door and told them if they weren't quiet they would get kicked out. I was in the room next to them and did not hear a peep. Then, upon check-out, when I asked for a copy of our folios, I was told it was not ready and was not given a copy. When we got home the next week, a copy of our folios had been faxed to the school. I then found out that our room rates were raised $10 per night in one room, and $20 per night in the other. These rates were higher than what I had signed and agreed to on my registration card. After calling and speaking to the front desk who had no access to anything to help, I had to wait 2 days for a call back from the GM, Don. He stated the reason for them raising the rates was because I had more than 2 people each room. I understand some hotels do have higher rates for more people, however, the 2 times I spoke with the hotel on the phone before I arrived and during check-in, I was never told this policy. Don, the GM, did not try whatsoever the entire phone conversation to make the issue right. The only thing he would offer was a discount for a future stay, which I would never stay there again. He also was very rude and had no intention of trying to make the situation right. So now, our non-profit organization is out an extra $60.00 because of the hotel raising the rates AFTER I checked in and agreed upon a rate. I will never suggest this hotel to anyone and will never stay there again. After reading the other reviews, I see that their terrible customer service has always been an issue and will continue to do so.
During the late December flooding in Missouri, we were detoured north of I-44 and stopped in Osage Beach to rest. The Econolodge Motel proved to be a very clean and quiet place and offers a hot breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room rate was just a little high for the off-season, but not exorbitant.
