The location offers many possibilities for a varied holiday. Iii is known as the nautical centre of the Opatija Riviera with the ACI marina, which offers a complete nautical service. In the centre of the town there is a large beach that has been awarded the "Blue Flag" and offers a variety of sports facilities in addition to sunbathing and swimming. Fans of active holidays will round off their stay with the numerous promenades and paths in the hinterland. The famous Lungomare promenade runs through the town, leading south from Opatija to Lovran.
