Room very nice and location. ooty good place to visit and fortune resort is just awesome. near to Rose Garden, which is also very beautiful and must visit place. In my view Coonoor is also good place so you should visit over there and spend more time as compare to Ooty.
When we arrived for our 2 night stay we were fairly impressed with the lobby area but then were quite disappointed with the room which could do with a make-over. There was quite a lot of noise early in the morning that wasn't conducive to a good nights sleep. The food was okay but the service slow despite a lot of staff. The gardens at the front are pretty.
the staff were very good & friendly, the rooms could have been a bit bigger but it was alright. the only downside for us was the lack of a view from the rooms as the hotel is situated within the city.
the staff are super awesome...the friendly faces, FOREVER ready to help, attention to detail, great breakfast spread....the list is endless....Rooms are good, could be a lil more spacious...the room service is super and i could actually tell them what i wanted to eat and they prepared it even when it was missing on the menu...Loved it...
This is not my first time to be there in ooty.last month with our family i reached this mervellus spot of ooty name fortune hotel.where i gathered lot of good experince.hotel is overall good as per modern acomodation is concern.the best of this hotel is lash green lawn n beautiful garden.
An older Hotel thought quaint and quite attractive. Sadly there were many deficits in this hotel. Often the lift didn't work, not a pleasant experience when you are on the third floor. There were any number of staff in the dining section, but I don't think I had one food order that was correct. There is an obvious severe language barrier. It stated "Breakfast from 7.30" but at 8 o'clock there was still nothing in the dining room.....then they tell you it's room service only for breakfast!! Poor communication. The shower was probably the worst I have ever experienced. The shower head was set at a ridiculous angle and could not be adjusted. The water flow was very poor, and if you could get the flow fast enough, the stream was hitting the back wall. The second most annoying aspect, was the lack of Wifi as promised. I actually suspected they turned it off. On the positive side the hotel was very clean, the beds comfortable and the food that was delivered, good. The staff were very attentive and polite, especially in the bar area which was pleasant and well serviced.
Extremely bad. Cant believe they claim to be a part of ITC group. They are a complete mess. Loud noises in the night in lobbies and corridors which cannot be controlled by the staff even after complaining 3 times. Room service is horrible. They never answer your call. Had to call reception to get a call back from room service. Asked something and got something else. Food served was cold. Butter naan was torn/eaten by someone from a side. Had to call duty manager to address the issue. Will never recommend anyone for this ever. The worst experience ever.
Nicely maintained hotel with clean rooms, quick service, no reminders required. Breakfast had multiple opens to cater to all age groups. Small children's park for kids to play, small garden etc. Rose Garden is walkable distance from hotel.Overall it was a 2-day pleasant stay at the hotel.
We stayed as a group of 4 in two rooms in the property, one should surely have a own mode of transport if staying here, parking is a bit crampy if you stay there on a long weekend holiday, the hotel is having a nice ambiience ,the check in was delayed because there was a big group staying in the property and they had booked almost 75% of the property and they were having some meetings inside the property lawn, when we checked in we wished to go for the afternoon buffet lunch but suprisingly we were not allowed to do the same because the whole buffet lunch was booked for them SO BUFFET LUNCH DENIED , felt bad requested but they refused , coming to the room DONT EVER DREAM OF ANY VIEW FROM MOST OF THE ROOMS almost whole property is covered by close proximity buildings on one side , request one to check the room the view before checking in ,the buffed restaurent breakfast/lunch/dinner was a bit crampy definately not upto the fortune level of hotels, coming to the room they were JUST OK ROOMS the bathroom was not that clean and had very old rusty fixtures which seriously needed replacement.everytime we wanted to visit some place we neededto travel through busy streets to get out and into the property. Pros- Good reception Nothing much Cons- Limited parking Very slow front desk staff Old property Old fixtures needed replacement in bathrooms Limited view from many rooms(advice to check the room before check in) JUST A OK PROPERTY WOULD ADVISE If one has the money and wish to have a spectacular vacation better book in GEM PARK
The rooms are a little dated, but full points on service. We stayed for a total of 3 nights and honestly couldnt complain about anything. The gardens although well maintained, could do with some sprucing up. The staff, in particular Gerald & the security folks deserves a special mention.
