The resort is located about an hour drive from Naha International Airport. It is right on the beach. The rooms facing the sea have awesome scene, especially at sunset time. The Resort offers a good range of water sports and activities suitable for different age groups. The resort also has a chapel separately located and right on the water front for weddings, the scene is remarkable and it will make weddings most memorable. Walking along the beach on on the banks to 2 lighthouses is very enjoyable. For the youger and more energetic ones, you must try the "Flying Fox" sliding on a cable from a tower on the beach over and across the water to near the light house! More relaxed is paddling on a water tricycle. The hotel also serves an international breakfast featuring a lot of local Okinawa food. Evernight there is a "light show" on the walls of the hotel. The hotel also has various fun and games facilities for children including a play room, a balls pool, table tennis, pools, as well as a model racing cars track Highly recommended for the whole family, and for honey moon

It's far from a 5 star property and it's designed for families with kids. Kids galore everywhere but has so much for your kids to do. I give it 4 stars as the staff although English is tough for them they treat you with respect and try so hard and I would come back just for the staff. The food is so so but you don't come for the food. It's a very large resort that has lots to do and for the price I feel terrific value but if you don't like screaming kids it could be a problem. It was not a problem for us. I'm a Starwood platinum member and that's how I was treated and I highly recommend this resort. If your looking for 5 star try the ritz but it's really remote resort.

A rather old hotel with the facilities getting old. The room are just basic not luxury or grand. The private beach and resort is the best seller !! The water sport there is amazing. Suitable for family visit as resort.

I was working in Okinawa Prefecture for a few months. I was craving the turquoise ocean after the concrete hustle of the city. My boss knew the manager of this hotel & organized a room for me at a discounted rate. Loved my room & view. It seems that the architect of the hotel built it in such a way that every room has a view. I could hear the ocean waves crashing at night- it was soothing & peaceful. Room was quite spacious for Japan. The hotel is huge, a lot of rooms, a lot of friendly people work there. The food was great. Service is 5 STAR. If I had one complaint it was the mosquitoes. Yes, I know, weird; I was on the 6th floor & yet mozzies were buzzing about at night. The front desk had these mozzie plugins though that helped curb that problem. Not entirely, but it helped. The beach is stunning- You can walk out into the ocean a fair ways in the soft sand. I took windsurfing lessons there - amazing! And ...I made some very good friends .. especially with an Ozzy gal who worked there. I will hold this trip dear to my heart.

We stayed here for 7 nights with 3 small children. The best part was there were so much to do for kids, so read on if you have small children. Amenity for kids were above and beyond, but there were a few minor issues as well 1. Kids Play Area (free): it was not huge, but I thought it was large enough. (See photos) The ball pool was so deep that the kids can submerge whole self in it. It was clean, and spacious. 2. Lots of fishes (free): my kids were just happy watching them for hours. They are in a pool of water in the hotel lobby. The pool near the bar is separate. The staff let our kids feed the fishes, and that was the favorite activity for one of my kids. 3. Resort Pass: like many hotels, you have to pay resort fee, which was hefty (3500 JPY per adult, 1080 for my school age kid, and free for kindergartner), but one payment was good throughout the stay. However... the catalog says, it is per day, so call the hotel and ensure what is the case. It includes a beach parasol, two chairs (you have to pay 2500 JPY for just that), kayaks (!), pedal boats (!), towels, big indoor pool, and public bath. Since it was a bit cold when I visited, we ended up using indoor pool a lot, but we also swam in the ocean. 4. Location: our goal was to visit the aquarium, bucena marine park, manza, Bios hill (my favorite), and the American village, it was centrally located to everything we wanted to visit. The hotel beach was also awesome and kids friendly. 5. Chose breakfast option. With kids, we avoid going somewhere else just to eat... It takes too much time. Dining is expensive in Okinawa (roughly double compared to main land Japan). We purchased breakfast option, so it solved the breakfast problem. Lunch buffet (2100 JPY per adult) was not bad, including steak and sushi. 6. Room: we stayed at the 2-story room (Ocean Maisonette). It was a bit expensive, but two of our larger kids and I slept upstairs on a twin-size futon for each person. The upstairs are not "private" from downstairs, and vice versa. The baby and wife stayed downstairs. The view was great, and we ate our Bento box dinner at our balcony 6. Staff. They were happy working there, and they made us feel like we own the hotel. Example: one day, we lit "do not service our room" sign and gone for the whole day. When we come back in the evening, of course the room was the disaster just like we left. I called the front desk and asked if we can have a few towels, but they took all of our dirty towels (like 10) and trash, replaced the whole towels, and brought a few bottle of water. They just seemed happy (and sometimes relaxed), helpful, and trained. 7. Free Wifi. 8. Night time light show. It was light show projected on the wall, but somehow kids loved it. We just laid on couch in the area in front of the bar, and enjoyed the show. 9. Of course, the beach and beach activities were awesome. Issues: 1. We requested a crip, and reservation stated, "we will do our best, but cannot guarantee." We did not get one. Because my wife and a baby shared a king bed, that wasn't an issue, but this can be pretty serious in some cases. This can be a deal breaker. The hotel did not guarantee the crip until the payment, and I thought we paid at the reservation, but the hotel did not charge the card. 2. Dinner option. The dinner buffet is 3500 JPY per adult, and it was fine, but not to justify the price. A la carte menu is also available, but they are very expensive. SPG customer gets 15% off, but additional automatic 10% service charge kills that deal. Dinner option is very much limited. 3. Omelet station. They have omelet station, but they only make plain omelet or with cheese. They should have ham, onions, mushrooms, and other goodies, and their breakfast buffet will be perfect. Lastly: the zip line was fun! It is not that expensive, and I highly recommend it. They shut down the line due to high (sometimes not that high) wind, so call before you commit.

Seemingly a recent Sheraton endeavor the hotel has amazing potential aside from some minor details to work out. Communication between the staff was patchy and we had to re-explain things or request things multiple times. We stayed for 6 days. The early springtime weather was still a bit cold to utilize outdoor pool and got several days on the beach, but was still a tad cold. The sun was out, but wind was brisk and water was chilly. Indoor pool and hot tub worked out well. We traveled with 2 very young children a 2 year old toddler and an infant. The hotel is perfect for young families with babies. There are wheelchair ramps / stroller ramps everywhere! They have a fair priced laundry facility. Baby cots are limited, luckily we obtained one. Kids areas are perfect for younger toddlers. Our son played everyday in the restaurant with an area they had a Lego wall and plenty of Lego for all the kids to enjoy. He also played on the indoor play area. We also enjoyed the nightly light and sound show perfect for little ones to marvel at. -Fish pond in lobby provided our little one hours of enjoyment. He watched the fish. They gave him food to feed the fish. He loved it. Both of the kids liked the nightly light and sound show. -Excellent beach area, beautiful colors and swimmable with little ones. Gradual beach and didn't drop off real steep. -Excellent pools! Indoor and outdoor- with slide and changing areas. -Baby changing facilities -beachside activities for older kids and adults -zip line, pool slide, outdoor playground -indoor activities in case of rain - foosball table, ping pong table, pool billiards table, darts, radio control race car track. -Hammocks Lovely tropical Hawaiian music while at the beach adds to the resort scensory Photos of the rooms online do not do the room justice. They are gorgeous. Upon arrival a map and list of what is included in the resort pass would have been critical. Apparently the pass we got with our room fee included many amenities we were not told about. Would have been nice to know as we didn't get to enjoy them. The wifi throughout the entire resort and rooms is excellent. Renovations are still underway and probably will be for a while, but none were annoying. It was quietly done without interrupting our stay. Happy hour was nice at the sunset bar. However we came here for outdoor fresh air and would have really liked to watch the sunset and enjoy drinks by the beach or outside somehow. No drinks were served on the beach nor anywhere we could find outdoors on the patios. Family mart convenience store is 150m from the hotel. We basically went there daily. They have a variety of toiletries, snacks and heated up meals you could buy. The hotel food is so so. Very limited as there is only one restaurant. Despite it being a buffet style it was not the best. Same at breakfast. Not phenomenal for a hotel of this caliber. One of the hotels weakest points. Restaurant choice and hotel staff communication skills. The staff was motivated, professional and nice, but for us lacked English. There also seemed to be a breakdown of communication between the front desk and the beach house rental facility. High level of bedding quality. Big fluffy pillows and bed is cozy and the bath linens are fluffy thin jeans large Pretty much every room has a view of the ocean Awesome flooring in all the rooms. Rattan type material - colorful, relaxing and comfortable. Beds are amazing. Oh I already said that :) Sofa bed is a great piece of furniture. Our baby slept on it and was perfectly large enough she wouldn't roll off. Would be good for younger child as well. Believe this is in every room. The place is just beautiful. Gorgeous. Can imagine how wonderful it would be at high season. We loved it just before peak season and upon what looked like newly opened under Sheraton brand. My husband is even considering hosting one of his annual meetings here we liked it so much.

New and clean facility next to a beautifully quiet beach. Warm and tentative staff, to your typical Japanese standards. I think the overall hardware of the resort is well maintained and the resort staff are very nice, but not everyone is informed about the hotel's facilities or nearby choices of restaurants/activities to be helpful to hotel guests, which can be a bit frustrating. On our first night, we encountered several hiccups during check in and with regards to our room (no working AC) and the resort fun pass (staff didn't know who can set up beach chairs and towels for us)...etc. After reflecting these issues to the hotel manager, Mr. Ochi San, quickly gave us an upgraded room and offered the passes we purchased as complimentary etc. Several quick remedies. Thank you to Mr. Ochi for quickly turning around our experience at Sheraton. It was so comfortable that we spent almost the entire third day within the resort. Highly recommend for couples, families and friends. Or even people like myself who is looking for a lazy few days by the beach.

The must-get & enjoy is the resort passport that allows you to enjoy indoor pool swimming, the big public bath + sauna, sea kayaking for very reasonable price. What you should miss is that once you get the passport, it will be valid for your entire stay until you check out. Although you need to buy the passport for your entire family, it is absolutely worth doing so. In my case for four member family, it cost around JPY 12,000 for my 2 night stay. It's so cost effective. Staff members are very kind. We definitely want to come back again.

We stayed here during the winter so a few of the areas of the hotel were under construction. The beach was really nice although not warm enough for us to swim at. They had a cool light show every night inside the main atrium area. Also the buffets were great! We had dinner and breakfast there, if your hungry it's worth the $.

It was a wonderful vacation at Okinawa and stay at the best Sheraton Sunmarina Resort. Even though it was not suitable for water activities but the fantastic view and environments made you feel relax and enjoy. Especially staying at the top floor with the wonderfully balcony and see view, watching the sun set and walking on the beach. No need to go to the other places! I will recommend this hotel and maybe in the summer will have different feelings!
