Dolphin Cove is a lovely property. We really enjoyed our stay. However, there are several pros and cons about the property, I’ll start with the pros:The location could not be more perfect. The whole family loved the dock. The kids are teens so we felt comfortable letting them fish off the dock alone during the day. They caught tons of Crocker fish and my son even got a baby shark (which we threw back of course). The adults enjoyed sitting on the dock with our morning coffee and evening drinks. The live oak in the backyard is truly beautiful and provides nice shade in the back. We didn’t even have a bug or mosquito issue as one might anticipate. The home is very clean and the views from the house are amazing. Proximity to Lowe’s grocery was also a perk. Cons: We visited during the hottest week of the year and the house is older and probably poorly insulated. The AC really struggled to keep up. We left at 70 the whole time, but during the heat of the day the house would get up in the 80s and take all night to get back to 70. The property manager was very helpful, and quick to send fans. On our third day he sent a window unit which really helped a lot! The kitchen was very poorly stocked, the worst I’ve ever seen at this price point. I had a watermelon but there wasn’t a knife sharp enough to cut it. We got crab legs, but then realized there wasn’t a crab pot. Can opener was broken. Also, there was no propane in the grill.
