Does not have coffee machines in each room.. instead has coffee machine and lobby "available 24/7". Was not available when I stayed September 29th-October 2nd. Sign on lobby door says "opens 7:00 a.m." . On the morning of September 30th did not open till 7:35. Two trips down for coffee--nobody there. Then again on October 2nd nobody there at 7:19 a.m.. extremely poor customer service from front desk staff.

I had no expectations about this motel as I know I booked on the lower end but this was worse that I had imagined. The minute we opened the room door we were overwhelmed by the smell of mildew/mold. When I mentioned it to the front desk their solution was to send the cleaning staff up with a can of air freshener. That is not a solution just a cover up. The bedspreads we stained, the carpets dirty. The wifi does not work on the 3rd floor and the beds in our room desperately need to be replaced.

Iconic hotel - great stay

We love staying at the Sahara if we can when we visit Ocean City. Yes, it is an older hotel. Our room included a microwave and refrigerator. There was a hair dryer as well. The air conditioning worked great. We had a side balcony which still offered a nice view of the ocean. The room was quiet- no noise from neighbors or the street. It's location on the boardwalk, but at the "quiet" end, is super convenient. The beach in front of the hotel is large and there is a chair/umbrella rental stand right there (not owned or run by the hotel though). The young man running the stand was very nice. If you're looking for a fancy pants hotel or condo with all the bells and whistles, this isn't it. But I still give ut 5 stars for what it is. Also, breakfast at the Sahara Cafe is a must.

Great spot on the boardwalk for oceanfront units. Quick walk for other units. AC unit didn't seem to take humidity out of room but the cold setting worked. Everything was clean. No hooks at sink or bathroom to hang clothes or towels. Bed was moderately firm and comfortable.

⭐️ 1/5 — Very Disappointing Stay We stayed here for a family vacation, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Our room had ants and flies everywhere — it was honestly gross. I had to place a Walmart delivery order just to get fly ribbons and ant traps to make the room somewhat livable. To make matters worse, I couldn’t communicate with any of the housekeeping staff due to a complete language barrier. No one understood me, which made it impossible to ask for basic things or get help with the situation. For the price we paid, this stay was not worth it at all. I expected way better. I definitely won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone.

Property is in an excellent location, we stayed in the oceanfront building, 1st floor room on the boardwalk. The building itself is old and the furniture is definitely outdated. However for the price we paid, you couldn't beat it. Generally pretty clean just old. Would have liked to be able to walk out to the boardwalk from our porch instead of having to walk all the way around, that would be about my only complaint other than the beds aren't the comfiest. Even with that, I'd still stay there again just based off the location.
