This hotel is a really sweet, newly upgraded gem. The room was clean and crisp. The decor is a wonderful retro vibe. I loved the tea tray with an assortment of teas and treats. The shower took a bit to figure out but has food pressure and heat. The radiator was too warm. The biggest disappointment was that the bedsheets weren’t very soft thought the down comforter was perfect. The hotel was quiet. And they allowed pets. I would stay here again, especially for the price.

One night stay here ... it was adequate.. a bit out of the center but very walkable... Nice that it was waterfront.

Close to the bustle of downtown Oban, and easy to walk to the ferry terminal, which was great because we booked an excursion the next day after our arrival. If you’re traveling by personal car, expect to have a difficult time parking. We were lucky and snagged the last spot. It would have been tiring to find parking after a long day of travel. The hotel is in bad shape. Our room was clean but worn out. The staff was kind, but they were somewhat overwhelmed. If I were to visit again, I would try to stay further up the hill, and not on the Esplanade. I have to say though, it was beautiful relaxing in their front sitting room and watching the sky turn dark, and the bay disappear with the day. Visit the ruins of the castle just outside of town. The view from there is breathtaking.

This hotel was just what we needed. Not a 5 star but good enough if you want to enjoy walking distance to the city and nice views. The hot tub and spa were out of service when we got there and I'm not sure how often they would be in service but we did go to the sauna. It is an older building so there are some stairs to maneuver, but I imagine most of the hotels in that area are the same. Staff was pleasant and you could pretty much have anything you wanted for breakfast.

We were very disappointed with our stay. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful and made us feel we were nothing but a nuisance. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the room was stuffy with no way to open the window wider than a crack. The bathroom fixtures were ancient and it was impossible to get anything other than boiling hot or freezing cold water. The one plus was that the room was very clean. All the discomforts could have easily been overlooked if the staff had been the least bit kind and helpful.
