Lion's Head is a small village so being on the edge of town was not a problem. It's a short walk to the beach and marina.Having the two bathrooms was a bonus and my grandsons loved the foosball table and the big open family room in the basement.The outside property is large and well kept with lots of room for the kids to play.

An average house in a a really nice village

The house could accomodate 10 people. However, the pictures on the Website are inacurrate since there was only 5 beds total available (instead of 7 as shown on the Website). The host did contact us in advance to let us know about this discrepancy. Having said that, the two missing beds (matresses and bedding) were in perfect shape and stored in the garage when we arrived. So, it is a little annoying that the host did not simply reinstall those two beds. Also, the host send us a laundry list of rules concerning the house in advance which, quite honestly, made us feel somewhat unwelcomed. One of the rules being to bring back our garbage and recycling home with us. We were there for 9 days so it is absolutely incomprehensible, for the price that we were paying, that the garbage and recycling is not pick up by the host after our stay. After all, it is a house, not a camping site ! The house, and its furniture, needs some maintenance. Indeed, the drawers in the kitchen were crooked, therefore flimsy to open and close. The couch in the living room was missing a leg. The curtains in the living room were hanging on a rod that was barely secured in the wall and kept falling (only 4 rusty nails). The balcony in the back of the house was inaccessible because litterally falling apart. The blue Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, two of them were broken, and all of them were extremely dirty. When we arrived, there were not enough towels set-up for all 9 of us. Location is great.

Family time

The cottage & location was perfect for family time, close to the beach, walking distance as described. It was peaceful on days we just wanted to relax. For fun activities such as kayaking, hiking, dining & shopping, Tobermory was 30 minutes away. We had a wonderful time with the family! Highly recommended, especially for a large group of people.

Weekend in Lion's Head

We booked this location for its proximity to the beach in Lion's Head and Tobermory. We were finishing our last hike of our end to end hike of the Bruce Trail in Tobermory and were celebrating with our family. There were 6 adults and four children ranging from 4 years of age to 5 months. There was plenty of space. The bedrooms were large. The kitchen was designed to easily accommodate a large group around the table. The side deck was lovely for dining. Our grandsons had a great time playing in the big yard. We used the wagon to transport them to the beach which was about a 15 minute walk. The sandy beach had clean washroom facilities and a great playground. It is perfect for young children. We ended our evenings roasting marshmallows by the fire. We relaxed in a circle of blue Muskoka chairs gazing at the magnificent stars above. Definitely great location for a weekend family getaway.

We stayed here as we were visiting for my husband’s family Christmas. The house was exactly as described. It was clean and easy to access. The location was perfect for us as well. Great find for this area as they is not much available. Would definitely stay again.

Overall a GREAT stay

The Host was really responsive, and nice. The house is amazing, it’s really big and it can fit up to 14 people in beds. The common areas were spacious, the house was really clean just for one little incident, but I’m sure it was a one time mistake. The fire place was perfect, the bbq was perfect, overall the house was a really nice stay. it is located near to the LCBO, 10 mnts walking from the main beach, but the only thing is that is not 15mnts from the grotto but 50mnts which was okay for me and my friends but the description says it’s 15.
