This was our second visit to this hotel. I think it would be an ideal property for anyone, but especially for young families as the pool has a children's area and the beach is beautiful sand and very gradual out to deep water.
I was traveling with my 7 year old child and wanted a place to stay closer to the airport in Liberia. I found Flamingo on Orbitz and was very pleased with our stay.
This place was really nice. It was my first time in Costa Rica and they made me feel very welcomed. The staff was nice, rooms were super clean and the food was great! Also, it was right on the beach. Definitely had fun. Definitely would recommend this to anyone.
Right on beach but there are much nicer beaches close by. Moved us out of our room when someone booked it for a higher price online. Items lost in room transfer. 3 of us got food poisoning from quesadillas. Would not recommend.
This hotel is NOT all inclusive. When I did the search that is what I was looking for. If you want to eat at their buffet it is nearly thirty american dollar per person for a one table of whatever they are having that night. It's a rip off. The rooms had a musky smell and the showers were beyond uncomfortable. The water that came out of the shower head was a light mist. It was nice to be on vacation and relax, but overall it was an ok- mehhhh experience.
Food was really good great location right n the beach
Excellent attention , staff very friendly good location, delicious food.
Great staff, amazing atmosphere, and an even better scenery. Elias , Manuel number 1 and Manolo are amazing . Can't forget Marvin and Joseph!!
perfect place to relax, Excellent pool and the food and drinks are always available. Beach is right in front. It is worth the price.
This is the only resort on Playa Flamingo. I stayed there twice & highly recommend. Clean & eco friendly.
We enjoyed our 5 day stay. Only issue was I reserved a poolside king bed room. Was not available first day had to move rooms. The hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful other than the front desk. Food was great, service great. Enjoyed pool and bar. Wished they rented or provided kayaks, sups or boogie boards to used at beach.
Costa Rica is a beautiful country. We went there for the first time on this trip for a wedding. The location was pretty remote. it was an hour away from the nearest airport. we picked this hotel because the wedding reception was going to be right down the street from it. For the price we paid, I was pretty disappointed. The room was okay. There was no ventilation in the bathroom which made it hotter than the rest of the room. The shower head was also strange and the water pressure was a bit low. Worse of all was that the toilet would make strange noises and sometimes the water would bubble up??!! Not sure exactly what that was. We let management know and they sent someone to tinker with it but it continued throughout our stay. Breakfast at the restaurant was okay and included in our reservation. but dinner was disappointing as it catered to tourists offering "Italian" or "Asian" nights rather than local food fare. overall, this place was disappointing for the price and I will not likely be staying there again when I return to Costa Rica.
The hotel is ideally located and provides great amenities for anyone to have an excellent holdays!
We stayed at 2 different hotels in Costa Rica and this was somewhat of a let down. The food was limited and wifi was horrible. Maybe they have better rooms, but we didn't get one. I would not stay here again.
The hotel met our expectations in terms of cleanliness, ease of access to nearby attractions, and for being pretty much right on the beach. Other reviews talk about crossing a road to get to the beach, it's more like crossing a two foot path. You ARE on the beach and one of the nicest beaches in costa rica for sure. The pool and restaurant food was pretty good. The vibe is nice here, we noticed mostly a family/older crowd. Beakfast got monotonous but what else could we expect. It was filling and did the trick and definitely the best deal as the full all-inclusive I don't think it worth it. What we didn't appreciate was some services lacking that we usually expect when staying at an all inclusive: we didn't notice many of the activities mentioned on the website happening. There's no beach volleyball there's a sad little net across a sad little second pool behind one building, when we finally had time to use the beach towel service the service window was either closed for lunch or closed early making it more of an inconvenience than a luxury and the main desk won't help you during the supposed service window hours. There was also some sort of issue with us asking for breakfast to be packed on the days we would have to leave for touring trips before breakfast started. When we checked in the front desk said it was a non-issue just let them know the night before. The first time this work the second time we got a call from the office saying we had to order/pick-up from a different location. We said this was fine. When we picked up our breakfast the next morning staff informed us if we had to do this again we would have to speak to the manager. Suffice it to say we just skipped the hassel and left it alone the morning we went to the airport. So no breakfast for us that day. If you get this for a good price location and access make it okay to stay at but don't expect a full all-inclusive experience.
The hotel, pool and beach were awesome! It wasn't crowded, the food was good and we had a great time!!
We loved this resort and definitely would go back. The resort is right on the beach. The pool is gorgeous and super clean. Loved the swim up bar. The breakfast was just ok. However the salads are amazing, as well as the entrees and desserts. As for the vegetables, they are grown on their own organic farm, which is cool. The service was outstanding.
Don't expect Mexico resort style convenience and you'll be just fine, but most people that travel to Costa Rica tend to be adventurous and don't plan on staying at the resort anyways. The location is good for diving the Catalina's some zip lining, horse riding, jet skiing and atving. About an hours drive to tamarindo for surfing. Water pressure is low in the shower but aside from that, no notable negatives. The pool is clean and the grounds are well maintained. The food is decent but not worth getting the all inclusive Hope that helps I traveled with my wife and 2 kids3/4
I stayed at the resort for a destination wedding for 4 days. Booked a double and was given a king, so before I arrived, friend asked them to move us to a double, which turned out to be a handicap room. We kept the room simply bc it overlooked the pool. Beds were really comfortable, but showering without a tub made for a flooded bathroom. (Definitely not a wise idea to blow dry your hair after showering). Bar/waitstaff were great, unless you had one of the young kids pouring drinks. In that case, drinks were less than a shot of liquor. Good was great. Beach was right there, only problem, there were no beach chairs available. Most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. I'd definitely recommend this place!
Great hotel, but the food could be better. Great beach access and clean and nice rooms, plus affordable price!
