What a great place to stay. Spent 10 days at the resort enjoying the sun, snorkeling, monkeys and views. The workers are terrific, friendly and helpful. Orlando, Cesar (in the office), Cesar (in the restaurant) and Jackie were there for every/all our needs. Woke up to Monkeys grunting most days, Jays eating from our hands and sun shining on the water. Our accommodations were warm, inviting - just plain beautiful. We stayed in Villa 33 near the top of the property and Villa one on the beach. Would definitely rent these villa's again. Well worth the cost.

I was there with my family and i loved the house is fully equipped +very nice decoration you feel like home, the view is beautiful and the facilities are in great condition, very nice pool...and very friendly and helpful staff.

excellent. 3 bedrooms and 3 WCs. 2 floors. all the houses are very private and fully air-conditioned. kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, coffee filter machine, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. house is fully furnished. this is in a gated enclosed area probably with 15 or so houses. there is restaurant in the area next to the pool. the beach is a stones throw from the restaurant - black sand. this area is 1.5 km from Ocotal beach and 3-4km from Coco beach. few restaurants in the area. shop in Luperon and super Compro. dont have shop in Auto mercado as it is expensive - pay for everything in Colones as it will work out cheaper if you are staying for couple of weeks.

We chose Pez Vela through family who travel to Playa Del Coco every year. They plan to stay here this year. It was truly an amazing experience. So relaxing and absolutely beautiful! Our villa was not beachfront but we had an amazing ocean view and the villa was perfect! Very quiet and it allowed our family to spread out a little. The grounds are stunning! The staff, Cesar in Reception and Cesar and Francisco at Picante Restaurant made our vacation even more wonderful. I would highly recommend the restaurant. So good! We went deep sea fishing and they cooked our catch for us! The howler monkeys came down while we were there and so fun to watch.

We rented villa # 34 through VRBO. This place looks like a palace online, and it IS TRULY a palace! The view is what keeps haunting us. We sat out on the balcony every chance we got and were mesmerized by the ocean and the distant crashing of the waves. Occasionally, you hear the howler monkeys growling further down the slope, or you'll see the younger ones climbing the trees right in front of you, eating the leaves. The white-throated magpie jays call from the trees, or sometimes land on the balcony railing, seriously eye-balling whatever you might be eating at the time. And at night, the skies are so dark, you won't believe the stars you can see! Very few bugs or mosquitoes, making for some very comfortable nights outdoors. The upstairs suite is fantastic, with a very comfortable king-size bed and pillows. We didn't come to watch TV or surf the 'net, but the TV is very nice and has about 50-60 channels, more than half of them American channels. The wi-fi is rather slow, falls off the network from time-to-time, just barely reaches part of the balcony, and not really at all downstairs, probably because of the solid concrete construction. Apparently there is a limit in attachment size, as I would try to send pictures back to family and it would choke, so keep them under 1MB to make it easy on yourself. There are two phones in the house, but I never figured out how to make a local call, even from my cell phone, but then I didn't really need to. There are plenty of old towels in the first-class laundry room, but we bought a couple of cheap Costa Rica "tourist towels" to take to the pool and beach. The "small" pool that is just four villas down is beautiful and is almost always empty, so is essentially your "private" pool. The large pools down by Picante Restaurant are not heavily used, either, and you can order Pina Coladas while you swim. We ate at Picante two times while we were there, and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, they are not open for breakfast, but Playas del Coco is only 10-15 minutes away by car, and we found great places to eat there. You grillers will think you are in grilling heaven when you stand by the like-new Weber gas grill, looking out over the ocean at sunset. The kitchen appliances are first-rate (everything here is first-rate, except maybe the towels!), but we only used the toaster, relying on the grill for the two meals that we cooked. We want to see other places, but this place will forever be in our heads, and we hope to come back soon.

We have been in Bahía Pez Vela several times, every time we go we feel invited by the kind staff and very satisfied by the quality of the Villas. Picantes, the local restaurant and bar, is delicious and the bartender knows his good tricks on the drinks! The first raw of cabins, at the beach front are super! We recommend this place for families or couples on second honeymoon or vacation time!

We travelled to the Bahia Pez Vela Resort with another couple on February 11 and stayed in Villa 1 - it was by far the best vacation we have ever had. Villa 1 was 5 star all the way. Dealing with Verda the owner was so easy and she was so accommodating with giving us lots of information about where to go and what to see. The inside of the villa was gorgeous and the beds were so comfortable - although we did spend most of our time outside on the patio overlooking the ocean. We had howler monkeys in the trees and listening to them was so cool, they certainly sounded like they were bigger than they actually were - Ceaser the manager of the Picante restaurant next door was so nice and the food was awesome, great fast service. We also became friends with Jackie and Ceaser up in the office. They were very informative and helpful when we booked a river boat tour and our tour guide Randall from Shaman Tours was awesome and we will definitely be calling him next year for other excursions. He picked us up right at 6 am at our villa and chatted the whole time about the country and pointed out lots of animals for us to see on the tour. We saw lots of monkeys, crocodiles, birds and even an ant eater. We would definitely go back to this resort and are already looking forward to next year.

Bahia Pez Vela Resort #33 is everything we expected and so much more! The onsite office team for the development is SO supportive and friendly too. The finishes in the condo are top notch and the view is incredible. We loved the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the adventure tour that the office set up and we really had a great time exploring nearby towns in our rented SUV. Staying here was a fantastic way to acclimate our family to Costa Rica and we enjoyed every minute of it!

We stayed in villa 6, Villa Toucan, and it was just what we wanted. Comfortable and well equipped. What a perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Beautiful pools and lovely, well kept grounds. We loved the restaurant. Everything we ate was very tasty and the tropical drinks were fab. My daughter loved the pic de Gallo and the chicken quesadillas. The staff in the office was super helpful. Went out of their way at all times. The owners are very responsive - quick to answer emails and really are knowledgeable about the area. We took two tours with Memo, phone. 506-8811-4735. We went to Palo Verde and Rincon de la Viejo. Both were private tours for two and very enjoyable. Memo took us on the first. Second was with Alex. Alex took us to his brothers restaurant, where we had a great lunch of sea bass. We also used Memo for our return to Liberia.

Bahia Pez Vela is a beautiful secluded paradise!! The townhouses are seated up a slight hill so the views are gorgeous yet you are steps from the beach!! Our town home was so nice and clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant and bar on site were perfect with very friendly service and great food and drinks. We even got a beachside massage by Elena that was the best massage I've ever had!! What a treat!! We would definitely come here again!!
