great stay and awesome staff, everyone is really friendly. great location and great complementary breakfast, the internet need some improvement, but for a complementary wi-fi, it is not bad. overall I will definitely return. Last 4 Digits of my confirmation number are: 1860
This hotel provided such a great transition between life in the States and a visit to Mexico...with the mixed Mexican/American breakfast, the bubbling joy of families using the facilities, the beautiful courtyard, pool area filled with palms, the Mexican artifacts and the mix of vibrant and soothing colors. Service was clearly the top priority and it was greatly appreciated! I highly recommend this hotel, not far from the border and grocery stores and restaurants and Mexican car insurance, as a bridge between the countries. Many thanks!
We agree with the other positive reviews of this lodging. Room was spacious and clean, but the real star was the included breakfast -- on par with the fancy hotel buffets that you usually have to pay at least $10-$12 for. In addition to an egg/omelet station where you could order anything, there were abundant Mexican as well as traditional American breakfast items. And the coffee was good! (Possible negative for some people: The only dinner service was in the bar)
We were surprised at the quality and value of this motel. Our room was very nice, with comfortable beds, the lobby was very spacious and nice, and the breakfast was outstanding. It really was a gourmet breakfast, with many hot items and Mexican dishes in addition to the usual breakfast fare. Check-in was efficient.
Huge and inviting lobby. Large room, very clean, well kept. "Breakfast room" can accommodate at least a hundred people. Eggs made to order with french toast, potatoes, fresh fruit and two attendants. Walking distance to border and its many stores.
This hotel was off the beaten path, but not difficult to find. Security seemed non-existant, but we did not have a problem. At check in, we were told that the internet was down, but it would be back up by morning. it wasn't. We went one more day without internet. Although this was not a business trip, as consultants, it is important that we have access to the internet. and would not stay again for this reason alone. Our room was old and worn, but okay for the pricing. It was fairly clean - but there were greasy hand marks on my bedside table that were never wiped away - and we staid 3 days. No bugs - which is always good in my book. The main problem was that the hotel had the heat on very high, and our room temperature control was not working. When I called to complain, I was told that the hotel had the heat on and nothing could be done. Our heating, fan or a/c was not working - and no one ever came to fix it. Reception did give us a fan, but we had to go back to the desk to pick it up. Without it, we would not have been able to get any sleep. We could have opened our window, but we were on the ground floor in the back of the hotel, in Nogales - so, for safety reasons, we did not open the window. The door at the end of the hallway was always left open no matter how many times I closed it - letting out the heat, but letting in anyone who wanted to wander the hallways. When I asked the front desk to keep it closed, they said that it was not an issue as it opened into the inner court yard of the hotel. Yet - it was at the back, behind trees and fencing and only a small metal door to the back parking lot closed off easy access to the hotel. This metal door could have been easily scaled by most people, so I never did feel safe. Nothing happened, but this is a disaster in waiting in my opinion. There was no extra bedding or pillows in the room and I was too tired and disgusted to try calling the front desk again. Free breakfast was decent, and ran until 10 am, but most of the food was Mexican, which is okay, but was very soggy. The best part was the woman making custom omelets - they were great, and so was she.
We stayed 11 nights for a recent family visit. Hotel is 40 yrs. old, but under new management and the owner is keen on customer satisfaction. Rooms with king or two doubles available. We had a HUGE king room, triple sheeting on the bed, clean room. Bathroom was nice & clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job keeping it clean! Best part about this hotel is the complimentary breakfast for up to 4 guests per room. Breakfast served 6-10 am. WONDERFUL SELECTIONS! Lots of Mexican food favorites (chicken enchiladas, firjoles, quesadillas, menudo, potatoes). Also have an omelet station with many choices to add to your omelet or scrambled eggs! They have of course coffee/juices/cold cereal/oatmeal/fresh fruit, toast available. In addition, the restaurant is open for lunch and sometimes for dinner. Denny's is in walking distance if you need another option. Parking lot is well lit and the entrance driveway in front of the hotel is covered, which is nice on rainy days! We will definitely stay here again when we need a hotel in town! Prices are excellent!
Stayed here with our 2 dogs at end of Nov 2016. The hotel is clean & comfortable with a good price. The beds were comfy & the linens were good quality. The service at the front desk was efficient & the staff pleasant. The included breakfast in the morning was the best I've been served at any other hotel. We travel from Canada to Arizona & on to Mexico & this is probably one of the nicest, pet friendly, reasonably priced hotels we have stayed at. Thumbs up to The Americana.
The Americana, as it was known has been here a long time. The food is good, the matresses are excellent and the hotel is pet friendly. You get one free breakfast and one free drink with a purchase of another at the bar. Staff is attentive and friendly and bilingual. The only place I'd stay in Nogales.
My wife and I wanted to go shopping in Nogales, MX, but because of warnings and publicity we wanted to stay in Arizona close to the border. The staff were helpful and honest about places to go on the Mexican side including directions to "Park and Walk" places, where to go to shop and restaurants to eat and drink. We had been told that lines for walk back through U.S. Customs were one to two hours long, but Mexican authorities put my wife and I at the front of the line because of age, over 60, so our wait was about 10 minutes to get back to Arizona. A big thank you to nice people at Quality
