NH Nice is positioned very conveniently close to the tram station and Acropolis. Lots of shops around the hotel. Hotel itself is bit dated and rooms just about OK. Breakfast spread is very very basic. Free wifi offered.
Hotel was ok. Excellent location, because tram stop was just next to hotel. You should definitely buy tram pass, since it's easy and fast way to travel in city. Hotel breakfast was good. Rooms were ok, but not excellent. At least in a bathroom, it was worn out, fixed here and there... Sauna in the top floor worked ok, but please, add more rocks to the sauna heater, there were only 4 old pieces of rock!
The only good thing was breakfas and Roxana exceptional service. It's my first time at Nice so I cannot compare it to other "business" hotels. I would expect the hotel to be better organized to support business travelers (e.g. proper and reasonable amount of hungers, available iron, iron board, etc.). These are basic things that should be available at ant time. I don't think it's not appropriate to offer the customer to go and buy hungers! The only positive experience was the nice breakfast and the service of Roxana (and the location).
I have stayed in other NH hotels around the world and have always been quite impressed by them. Generally quite stylish yet never too much in the money department. Except that is for this one. Don't get me wrong, this NH is ok and the rooms are smart and live up to that brand quite well. But there was a couple of disappointing aspects, namely focussed around the pool area and the bar/restaurant. For all the advertising about the pool area on the roof it wasn't in the best of conditions, and no towels were available so I had to use my towels from the room which I always hate doing. Also advertised was the fact there was a bar up in the pool area but this never opened the entire 4 days I stayed. Now maybe I was just staying out of season and they don't open that bar until the summer months perhaps, but the point was I never saw any information about that when I was booking the hotel at all so that was somewhat disappointing. Than we go to the actual bar on the ground floor, which was only ever open between 7pm and 10pm daily. Again this was a bit disappointing as it would have been great to have a little drink in the hotel bar once I had arrived before venturing out. There was the option of a little mini store in the foyer where you could get various beers, wines or snacks and pay at reception but that wasn't really an ideal solution. Obviously this meant I went out instead, and fortunately the NH is situated about 15-20mins from town with the tram line also right out side to get into the centre of town pretty quickly. Also the train station is a short walk away if you so desired to travel up the coast to Monaco or Villefranche which was lovely. All in all the hotel was fine, but at these sorts of prices (I paid around £100 a night without the breakfast) Id expect all aspects of the hotel to be open and accessible. Sadly this wasn't the case, but its location and its nice rooms just about made up for that.
NH Hotel was a lovely hotel with rooftop pool. Located across the road from the tram stop into city centre. The fare was €1.50 solo journey and very frequent. Cedric and another young man on desk were most helpful with directions, bookings and any information we required.
Stayed at the NH Nice for 4 nights while attending a conference at the nearly Acropolis. Location is OK for conferences and not too far from the old town, but it is a pretty run down area of Nice. Staff are pleasant and helpful, breakfast pretty good. The bedrooms are pretty run down and dated though, the hotel really needs an overhaul.
Really good location. Structure well organized. Close to the downtown. With a walk on foot, straightforward to the promenade. Breakfast in the average. External parking, really useful and appreciated.
NH Nice is a fine business hotel that is a convenient base for visiting Nice and touring the Cote d'Azur. Monte Carlo is only a 20 minute train-ride away. NH Nice is served by the city tram line, which stops just outside the hotel's front door, and the hotel offers excellent value. The hotel offers a fine breakfast buffet, and its restaurant is a good choice for dinner.
This hotel is a 10 minute walk down to the promenade and lots of coffee shops around. Staff and manager very helpful. Room good kept clean and always ready when coming back to room in afternoon. Bathroom may need updating soon and would be difficult for older people to climb out of bath as shower is above bath. Had breakfast one day but preferred going to coffee shops.
Stayed at the hotel in a suite and having stated in other NH hotels we were disappointed with this one. The hotel is bland and of a business class and it is quite tired. Our suite seemed to be a standard room just with more space. There were no extras or luxuries. The A/C was poor, burns in the furniture and the room was very dark. Sleep quality was ok although we did have to unplug the minibar as it was noisy during the night defrosting. The location of the hotel is 15-20 mins away from the Port, Promenade des Anglais and the Old Town, although 5 mins @ €1 by tram. The area around the hotel is quite diverse with a range of shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries & supermarkets (Lidl & Carrefour). The local train station is 10 mins walk away so you can catch trains to Cannes and Antibes there. The housekeeping standards were not great and we did have to mention this several times. Towels were thin / threadbare and not fluffy and refreshments are not always replenished. The roof top bar and pool were OK although along with the restaurant they were not very inviting. The beds are very comfortable and this was my main reason for booking the hotel as NH have really supportive & good quality mattresses. We spoke with several front desk staff and I must point out Jenny, who is friendly and accommodating and goes out of her way to help. We found some of the male front desk staff to be quite aloof and unhelpful. Overall our stay was OK but I believe this hotel is over-priced for the area and the standard it offered. I certainly did not feel like I had a French Riveria 'experience' at the hotel.
