The two bedroom-apartment was in itself not a bad deal considering the price level for July in the area. It was rather spacious and the standard was fairly good. Maybe it could have been better cleaned upon check-in. The late check-in time of 17.00 is simply too late - it's not good enough as the apartments are marketed as suitable for families. The wifi was unreliable and at times not working at all. The pool on the roof is a major draw for families with kids, and we found it to be pleasant and not too crowded. Having to fill out an inventory list is a hassle. The company has received major criticism for its policy of charging guests extra for bed linen and towels. Bring you own towels, as it halves this extra cost. Be aware of the extra cost and add it to the price before you decide to book, so as to avoid surprises. The overall price including these extras is still rather good value.
Nice spacious appartement. Two good separate double sleeping rooms and possible for further two more in the living room. Bring your own bed linen and spare some money. Annoying having to fill out an inventory list, to check for spoons, dishes, buckets, bins and 50-60 other items. Certainly not a good start for a vacation. Good kitchen facilities (no oven, but almost everything else needed in a kitchen).
My first comment on trip advisor.Stayed in June as a family vacation and what a disappointment !! From the check in moment which took ages as the poor receptionist was all by herself to deal with all kind of issues while the manager was sitting at the back not really interested. Housekeeping is just inexistent,so the place I am sorry is just filthy, our apartment was just filthy,as are the corridors and the surrounding amenities with a strong smell of suage. Now they charge you for everything, from bed linen, towels, paper toilets (you what?) ...and guess what? 55€ for cleaning, only then the housekeeping would appear to clean up the apartments. No Wi Fi !!!!!And terribly slow at the reception (3 small tables)as everybody try to connect Almost impossible to speak to the receptionist as the reception is always closed or very busy when opened. We ended up asking the night guard (sorry did not get his name) for informations and turned up to be very helpful and friendly with his recommendations about restaurants,beaches,transportation...Thanks a lot . Based on our experience,we would not recommend or stay again at the crystal.
Were do I start they charge you for bed sheets €10 they charge you towels €10 and the best yet you have to clean apartment yourself or they charge you plus they charge you €1.50 per day tax were foes it stop well it doesn't there a manual in room and every nut and bolt in room hast a cost price. E.g. A crap tv that's as old as Noah arc if u break it's €500 Also watch when you try check in before 5pm they tell you come back it's that bad I'd be afraid to ask for directions in case I'm charged a supplement
We came in from Finland and my friend had booked the place for us for 3 nights. On the way there I started reading about how bedlinens, towels and the cleaning were not included and you had to pay for them. We were of course a little bummed for the extra costs but changed our attitudes about it before we got there and it wasnt so bad afterall. The rooms were ok and the pool on the top was nice. 15 min walk to the beach, 4 minute walk to the supermarket. The bus 200 goes to Nice center for 1,5€. A 15 min walk to the train and you have access to many places such as Monaco, we went there for a day and payed 12 euros for a return ticket. . The reception is only open from 9 to 12 and then from 15 to 18. We got there later but the nice security guy gave us our keys. Remember to buy toilet paper because it is also not included!
My first review.Stayed with my family for a couple of weeks over easter. The layout of the apartments are nicely done, big enough with a balcony,a private car park and a rooftop swimming pool (that you need to share with aggressive teenagers who come from outside the property, just amazing!!) Another amazing thing:You need to pay for bed sheets, bath towels, toilets papers,cleaning..... Amazing (again),that no staff are on duty during the day as the reception seems to be closed all day,so in case of problems, you are left by yourself to sort it out as it happened one afternoon when my daughters were verbally abused by young thugs on the swimmimg pool's rooftop who clearly said that they were from outside the property and that they could do whatever they felt like in the property because they lived in the area around it.Not very reassuring to hear that. So for that reason, would not stay at the property again
Well, this is about the 4th time I have spent a week here. The single bedroom apartment I had this time was spacious enough for 2. Overall it's a positive experience staying here if you take all things into consideration. ***Positives*** - Young girl at reception friendly and helpful - Rooms good size and layout - Kitchen has most things you need. No oven though or toaster. You will need to use the multifunction microwave. - Nice balcony with table and chairs - Secure underground parking - Rooftop pool and sun area - A few English news channels not much else in English. German and Italian channels too. - Air conditioning works well and you can control it yourself. - Roller blinds to keep heat and light out. - Free unlimited WiFi in room. It struggled sometimes though. ***Negatives*** - Thin walls - Limited réception hours - Very hard latex like mattresses OK for a night or two but after a week I start to feel it. - Cleanliness is French standard -passable. -Having to do an inventory of items and condition of things in apartment on arrival and then have an inspection upon leaving - Final cleaning... you either do it yourself and pass the 'leaving' inspection or pay €50. Note if you need to depart outside reception open hours you will be charged the cleaning fee. *Beware & Good to know* Some things to note... - Reception has limited hours in the morning and afternoon only and no one at all on a Sunday. Either make sure you arrive in the designated times/days or make prior arrangements if arriving outside of these, or expect to be stuck outside the building frustrated rather than relaxing... - You will need to make your beds on arrival yourself but you can have it made if requested when booking and at an additional cost. - Bedding sheets and pillowslips, towels, tea towels, dish cloth, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, rubbish bags, dishwasher tablets, shampoo and soap DO NOT COME SUPPLIED - You can rent the bed, bath and kitchen linens but at 8 EUR per item per person it starts to mount up. There is a supermarket nearby for the other items. My advice, if you can, bring as many of the things you can yourself and save. Look at pictures for further information and detail about additional costs and house rules! - Book your exit inspection early on in your stay to ensure you get the time you want. - Hot water is automatically turned off around 7/8 pm each night. I noticed you can turn it on again, but never tried. Near the entrance door there was a slim panel on the wall with a small diagram showing you what switch to flick. -The garage doors are very tight to drive through (maybe I'm just used to bigger spaces from Australia) and there is a steep curved incline into the garage. I had a Renault Scenic which just cleared doors with mirrors in and was thankful for all the sensors it had. That said the largest car I saw in the car park was a Mercedes SUV and a LandRover. Location: - Convenient to centre of Cagnes Sur Mer - Good sized supermarket nearby in town square about 2 minute walk. Closed Sundays. - Bus stop station up the road 2 minute walk. Free bus 44 will take you up the hill to Haute Cagnes castle all year round and apparently no. 41 to the beach for free in July and August. Unless there is a transport strike as there is now at beginning of June 2016! - Tourist bureau close by on town centre near Post Office.
Very rarely anyone at reception desk staff not very informative. Room is fine dirty plates in cubbard though. Very little provided to clean apt before leaving. Not a fun holiday experience to have to clean an apt from head to toe. No support available at desk or wifi so id advise some plans be made ahead of time or to have iternet on ur phone erc in order to find trains etc. The luggage storage room doesnt appear very safe. Our room looked onto a car park so you prob wont want to spend much time in the room. Sheets and towels + local tax Added on when we got there was around €20 each for 5 of us so factor that in. Fine for a cheap break.
There can be no words dreadful enough to warn you off. Do not book with these rogues. Contact us for a detailed account of their false and totally misleading advertising. DO NOT BOOK HERE. The cost is misleading: consider the 'free Wi-Fi in the foyer' claim. What that actually means is '15 free minutes once' because after you submit your email address, that's it. No more 'free' Wi-Fi anywhere. And forget toilet paper in the apartment. Or cleaning products such as soap. This is a mean, cheap and worthless living space. You have been warned.
We stayed two adults and two teenage kids for a week in a two bedroom apartment on one of the corners of the building. The Staff was very friendly and helpful, all of them spoke good English which was a huge help as we don't speak French very well :) Check-in was over in no time and we received key to the apartment as well as the basement (for parking). The apartment was clean and had everything we needed (including kitchen stuff for cooking). The airconditioning was one of the best we've experienced didn't feel a draft, but still it kept the rooms at a good temperature. There was absolutely no noise from neighbors or the street at night, the doors seems to block out all noise. Also inside the building, we didn't hear anything. Rooms were big enough for us, beds were a bit hard but ok. The TV was extremely small (didn't use it though). It took us less than 15 mins to walk to the public beach and less than 5 mins to the local supermarkets. The old town on the hill is very nice with good restaurants. It's also close to e.g. Cannes, Nice and Monaco but not as overcrowded and expensive. On the negative side, the Internet connection is too expensive as you only get access for one device per subscription. Not up-to-date for modern families with many devices. You can get 30 mins free per apartment if you sit in the reception area, but still it's a bit old fashioned. Parking is also very small if you drive bigger family cars, so you need to be a bit careful. Since the basement is private and closed, it's safe to leave the car there. Getting in and out is a bit tight, but it's not a huge problem when you've been in other parking basements in France.
