mattress need to be changed as you can feel the springs! Wifi is only available in the hall No foreign TV channels Breakfast too expensive ==> 9.50€/p.p. Hotel too far from the sea = you need to pass underground passage (treinstation) 850 meters. The only good thing in this hotel is the swimming pool on the roof
We booked this as our flight was on a Sunday and we'd checked out of our weeks stay further down the coast on the Saturday. If I'm honest had I looked further into it I may have booked somewhere more expensive but our choice as a family of 5 was limited to a hotel 3 x more expensive so we went with it. The setting and area aren't the best and I definitely wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one night. The reception staff were curt but told us we couldn't check in before the stated time but could use the pool. By the time we'd walked to the beach for a lunch it was time to check in anyway. Check in was easy and the room was - ok? A double room plus enough room in the lounge for the children. One bathroom which did smell a little and the shower was broken but to be honest better than I expected given the entrance driving past a car yard and another manufacturing plant with metal ducting in the yard. The children used the pool and loved it. There is a lovely sea view and this was a bonus. I am glad we only used it as a base. Small things like keeping the vending machine full of water and maybe having a small snack bar on site would have really helped. Good point was plenty of parking! And we all got a good nights sleep. We wouldn't stay again but was good for a (desperate) stopover!
I have to agree with a previous review of this hotel that any good reviews must surely be fabricated. This hotel is so poor it is almost difficult to believe that such a hotel can exist in the day of trip advisor and such like. There are too many bad things to give a complete list but I will give my top 3 here. Just to give this some context I stated with my husband and 3 daughters for 4 nights. 1. The staff really don't care at all. This is evident from their attitude to issue No.2 and also their lack of any regard for customer comfort. When asked if the almost empty vending machine was working (see No.3) the person on duty simply said "no it's not" as if it was acceptable to offer no drinks in a hotel after breakfast. This was after he hid in the office rather than come to reception to answer queries. There are also no staff on duty at times during breakfast. This means some days you cannot even get a drink of water. Dirty tables are left and there is no one to top up food or deal with customers. 2. Maintenance is poor. Aside from the crumbling hotel in general, we had a serious leak coming from the air conditioning. It made huge pools of water on the floor which my daughters slipped on twice (one then banging her head on the wall). When reported we were first told it would be sorted the next day. The next day came and when not dealt with we were told (by someone else on reception) "so what". 3. The area is a real dump (busy road, rubbish and dog mess everywhere, nothing to do). This is not an issue with the hotel as such but there are things they could do to make the situation better. Despite there being next to nothing around the hotel doesn't have a bar or even a working vending machine for you to get a drink from. In summary I cannot stress enough don't go to this hotel. Spend a bit more money and go to Nice or Antibes. You will enjoy your holiday much more. #hotelfromhell
Very nice hotel apartment just off the main road, under a 15 minute drive from the Hotel. Transport I recommend using an Uber driver via the app to get to the hotel instead of a normal cab service. We used a normal cab and were charged 50 Euros for a 13 minute drive at night. The only reason we never used Uber coming into Nice is that our phone batteries had died, when we were leaving we booked and Uber which cost us around 27 euros- go figure! Hotel& Surroundings The Hotel was great, there is always someone on the front desk/back office who is willing to assist with queries. The room was clean with a nice little kitchen, fridge, dishwasher, sink. The fridge also has a freezer compartment to store frozen food. On either side of the bed are wall sockets to plug your electrical goods although it would have been better if they had multi socket adapter so you can plug more than one device. The highlight for us was the rooftop swimming pool, it is beautiful and very clean and has sun loungers surrounding it. From the swimming pool rooftop area you can also see stunning views of Nice! The hotel is about 7 minutes from the nearest supermarket Intermarche- prices here are fantastic and the food selection is great with fresh produce as well. There is a larger supermarket called Casino about 25mins walk away that sells electric goods as well as food and kitchen utensils although I think Intermache supermarket is sufficient enough. There is also two cafes and an oriental resturant located 5 mins from the hotel walking distance. The distance to the beach is about 8-10 mins.
We spend a good time in the hotel. The only thing that MUST be upgraded is wi-fi. For international tourists who doesn't understand French TV it's impossible to watch movies on the internet, the wi-fi was too slow. Everything except internet was very good. Stuff, swimming pool, cleaning, climate control, place.
This hotel has pros and cons. It is relatively cheap but also has a lot of sundries which you could see on my photos. I was with my family of 5. 3 children, husband and myself. The good one was outdoor parking in guarded and closed yard. Also, we have had a free garage in the basement with lot of parking space and automatic garage door with pass code for any room. On the top there was a pool with beautiful view. The reception was ok, clean with pool table. There was also the best wi-fi signal which is free but not useful all around. We had one room without window. Bathroom, toilet, kitchen together with other bedroom. In the kitchen there was a microwave oven, fridge, cooker and dishwasher. Even on the page write that we need to pay additional summe for use mini kitchen, we didn`t because they gave us a key without payment. All was in function. Like I sad before there was a lot of sundries. The door of the bathroom was not in properly function, so the light comes out through the break. In the room there was no shelf which was there before. A lot of little damages all over the apartment. Also, the climate system was noisy. Very positive, if you wish to visit Marineland, is location. No need to walk more than 10 minutes through park at the right side and you will be in front of the main gate of Marineland. Also, 10 minutes drive is to catch Nice or, at the other side, 5 min to Antibes. We didn`t use public transport but the bus station is just a minute in front of the hotel. I try to be realistic because in France there are no cheap and excellent accommodation in one place. Also, the stars usually don`t corespondent the stars of the hotels in Croatia. So, need to be real and to know this is Cote Azur. It has it`s price.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We were very disappointed. High price, low quality. Firstly, the the bathroom was not clean. The toilet seat had a nasty yellow colour, and the bathroom floor was sticky, which made it feel like the bathroom wasn't being regularly cleaned. However the rest of the rest of the apartment felt clean. Air conditioning: the air conditioning is installed, but it doesn't work at all. The staff wasn't nice or helpful in any way. You are informed that the reception is closed between 12 and 3 pm, but it is very inconvenient. The hotel says: "sea side", but the it is at least 1 kilometer to the beach. There are train rails between the beach and the hotel which makes the journey to the beach much longer. Everything costs extra i.e. safe, kitchen appliances, expensive breakfast. The hotel is nowhere near anything. However, the hotel had a nice rooftop-pool with a great view.
You get what you paid for. That's why it's so cheap. No plates, glasses , or even toilet paper. I do not recommend this place. We got there around 7 pm, every store in the area was closed. No chance to get ice or anything. . Lucky for us we found McDonalds. Breakfast it's ok for €10. This is the only positive comment about this place.
Clean Hotel, nice position, nice swimming pool on the roof. We checked in around 4 and the room was still dirty, when we asked the receptionist to give us a new room she answered in a really rude mode . Bad wifi, isn't working in the rooms just a little bit in the hall. Difficult to find even with the navigator
Staff was very friendly, location quite good if you have a car, because beach is faraway. Simple room, just for a sleep, because all furniture is quite uncomfortable. I was happy with cleaning service and parking, also towels during all our staying was supplied for free. Just one think: the hotel offer the gym, but everything is quite poor there even for simple exercises.
