We booked this hotel through British Airways when we were booking our flight from London to Nice. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Nice but that's one of the few good things to say about the hotel. Except that the front desk service was also very good. Our fault really as it is only a three star hotel but the location could not have been better.
Bad smell downstairs by the elevator. The rooms are slightly smaller than tiny, and there was no refridgerator. The bed was very, very hard, I guess some people might like that, I didn't. There was some kind of cooling device in the room, I am not sure if it was Air Conditioning, it certainly did not work like air conditioning, in fact it had no effect at all. The location was good, for everything, but I think there are better valued hotels nearby, so I won't be staying again.
The location of this hotel is excellent - right beside the old town and walking distance to most of the sights in Nice. The rooms are clean but small, which I suppose you can expect in an old French building. However, the bathroom was far from ideal - really tiny, not properly cleaned on our arrival and the shower is the maybe the smallest I've ever been in. I'm not sure hotel bathrooms should ever have shower curtains and certainly not when the shower is so tiny that the curtain sticks to you as you try to shower, ugh! Overall, I'm sure there are better hotels in Nice for a similar price (it was reasonably expensive when we stayed.)
Really good hotel in great location. Good breakfast, plenty choice and friendly staff. Bit disappointed about size of rooms. Stayed here before and had bigger rooms, but rooms were clean and adequate. Will certainly stay here again. Love Nice.
We stayed there for 2 nights in a basic double room. The bed base was too small for the mattress so it felt a little lob-sided sleep and pillows weren't great. If you are overweight don't expect to be able to shower comfortably, I am slender and could barely move around. Kettle for and evening tea needs to have a deposit put down... what kind of people go there if they need to rent out the kettles to stop them from being knicked! Room is probably more suited to a single person as we could barely fit both of our suitcases in. For the €15 extra they charge for breakfast, I would rather go grab something elsewhere. Food was not great. They have a sign saying "food is to be eaten on premises and not taken away, you will be charged for the takeaway". What clientele come here?? Anyway, 2 nights, good location in Nice, it was doable.
This hotel is really a low 3 star, more on par with a Travel Lodge in the UK. Small rooms with little room for clothing. Bathrooms need refurbishing, rough towel and old. Breakfast minimal, tea & coffee from a machine. Drainage smell in the lobby. No bar area, no seating to relax. Staff in both the reception and breakfast room miserable. The location was its saving grace with the tram stop outside and the Old town 5 minutes walk away. We spent very little time there on purpose and I wouldn't stay there again.
There is no Hotel parking, you have to park in one of the city lots nearby. If you do not know this you will drive in circles, possibly for a long time. If possible public transportation to get there or a cab. The hotel is in such a great central location that it is tricky to drive to because of the pedestrian square and tram that run right outside. There is nothing special about the hotel or the rooms but it is so well located I can see why it gets such high rankings. I will warn you that we left our windows open all night in April and we were eaten up by mosquitoes. We had dozens of bites by morning, and they were extra super itchy. Use the AC if it is warm, you may regret it if you don't. The internet may drive you a little crazy since you have to log back on every time you get to the hotel and re enter your individual pass code. The main square, the pedestrian street, and the old town are all a super close walk from the hotel.
Great location. Loved those fresh croissants and pains au chocolat for breakfast. Very nice variety to start the day. I am very particular when it comes to the cleanliness of bathrooms and rooms and I was very pleased with their daily upkeep. A thanks to the staff who couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful from Christelle and Nikolay at the Reception desk to Claire and Djouher in the breakfast room to all who made my stay perfect. A hotel you want to come back to.
when we arrived the hotel the employees were very kindfull. place was small and clean. It was near the city centre . nice place for a holiday. You can visit so many places by walking. Train station is near to the hotel.
All in all decent hotel in a very good location, close to everything. The hotel feels a bit old but it's very clean. Quite big with some 80 rooms. It's baldy insulated for sound so you hear the trams and people outside as well your neighbors. Bathroom is cold but fresh, decent size with a tub. The room is also okey size with a desk and TV. Breakfast was okey, nothing fancy but edible.
