Great location. Loved those fresh croissants and pains au chocolat for breakfast. Very nice variety to start the day. I am very particular when it comes to the cleanliness of bathrooms and rooms and I was very pleased with their daily upkeep. A thanks to the staff who couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful from Christelle and Nikolay at the Reception desk to Claire and Djouher in the breakfast room to all who made my stay perfect. A hotel you want to come back to.
when we arrived the hotel the employees were very kindfull. place was small and clean. It was near the city centre . nice place for a holiday. You can visit so many places by walking. Train station is near to the hotel.
All in all decent hotel in a very good location, close to everything. The hotel feels a bit old but it's very clean. Quite big with some 80 rooms. It's baldy insulated for sound so you hear the trams and people outside as well your neighbors. Bathroom is cold but fresh, decent size with a tub. The room is also okey size with a desk and TV. Breakfast was okey, nothing fancy but edible.
Good standard and close to Everything. You can easy walk to beach, store, "old city", train station and to harbour. To walk to the train and take the train for a trip to Cannes is easy and very comfortable. You will very soon find your own favourite cafe and restaurant.
On the junction of Ave Jean Medecin and rue de lake liberte this is ideally situated. It is not very far from the promenade and has numerous shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The hotel is quite old. Our room was quite small but spotless. The bed was comfortable. The tv had no English language channels but we didn't go to Nice to watch tv. The only complaint about the room was the shower was very small. Breakfast is a typical French breakfast buffet which is ok. The hotel does not do dinner.
On the whole a good experience. I say interesting, because BA messed up the hotel. We were supposed to be in the univers hotel in Cannes but ended up here. The hotel was very clean, the room was an okay size. Bathroom was very clean. It was extremely noisy at night however and the double glazed Windows came into their own. The hotel is on a busy junction and throughout the night there are tram bells, people shouting, restaurants making noise and dustbin men at all times through the night. However, the location is excellent. Very central. The breakfast is ok but not brilliant. It is from 7-10 but if you get down any later than 8 it is hit and miss. Things run out quickly but are not replaced quickly and if you are on a schedule for the day it's quite annoying. The piped classical music can be rather loud and interrupt your conversations over breakfast. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly and quickly, usually while you are at breakfast so there's no interruption there. DO take some mosquito reppellent though. We were bugged ( literally) by huge mozzies that bit the hell out of us. They're loud too, and will wake you up. We spent a few nights on mosi patrol after being woken up either by being bitten or buzzed at. The staff are polite and Nikolei in particular is fantastic. He speaks excellent English and is really helpful in all aspects. We got lots of info from him. The trains are easy to use and have a take a ticket system at the stations which is really quick. Usually get to you in under ten minutes. All in all a lovely place, thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and the area is great for everything.
Excellent location and staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was spotlessly clean but towels were rather thin. The shower cubicle was very small and had a shower curtain which I do not like.. As the air conditioning seemed to be turned off, despite the heat, the room for very hot. My room 201 was noisy as it looked out onto a covered courtyard with a generator, so opening the window was a noisy option. Breakfast was fine and the staff member was very pleasant. This was a package trip with Travel Department.
Stayed for three nights in this hotel. The location is great, around the corner from Place Massena and a short walk to the Promenade and the market/old town. We had a very small room at the end of a long corridor which we think was smaller than the average. The shower was very small and a tight squeeze if you are on the large side. We were out most of the time so didn't mind the size of the room. The bed was a good size and comfortable, a bit hard, but that's just my preference for a soft mattress. We were lucky to have quiet neighbours as we could hear them talking quite clearly and the TV when it was on. There are restaurants close by where we stopped for a drink on the way back to the hotel after eating in the old town. A very enjoyable few days and Nice looked beautiful. The weather was great, sunshine all the way and the Med. looked beautiful.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and were very pleased. The location is ideal to the heart of everything you will want to see. The tram stops just 50 feet from the hotels front door and it's just 2 stops on the tram to get to Nice-Ville (SNCF Gare/ main train station). The rooms were clean and a good size for 2 people. The hotel staff is very friendly and everyone who worked the front desk spoke English very well. They were quick to offer assistance in finding anything we were looking for. The breakfast came with the package when we booked the room and it was good, the staff was good here as well. I don't believe that I would have the breakfast there if I had to pay the additional €14 a day as there are many great options in this price range just around the corner (Rue Masséna). The Nice Etoile (the mall) is just a short walk away if you want to go shopping. Overall we would definitely come to this hotel again.
We recently stayed here the hotel is in a good position near trams, buses etc.A few issues others have mentioned issues with the breakfast well it was ok apart from cold bacon cold scrambled eggs and cold boiled eggs which I thought on occasions were yesterday's left overs also very slow to clear tables I know france is about continental breakfast so choice of croissants jams etc ok.Coffee from machine surprisingly wasn't to bad.Another issue was the room it was fairly small and the bed was very uncomfortable (hard mattress) there was an issue with noise a few times early mornings. The tv in the room had no English tv channels as I like to catch up first thing in morning with uk news. Also WiFi not that good .As we've been to Nice a few times and stayed in other hotels i feel this is definitely not one of the better ones so won't be staying here again. The hotel is more a good 2*plus in my opinion. But as it was booked as as a package with BA city breaks good value.Nice itself was lovely we had one showery day but rest very sunny and warm.Managed to get out and about bought 5 day travel passes recommend ephrusi rothschild villa fantastic gardens and eze village views spectacular we walked down path a bit hard on ankles and knees but fantastic.
