The good thing about this Hotel it is central and clean. We travel to Europe regularly at this time of year and very rarely have cause to complain. However, this is one time when a complaint/s is/are needed. The rental car is always an issue, so I contact the Hotels prior to ensure the car can be accommodated and if so at what cost as this influences our choice of Hotels. The same process applied with Hotel Lafayette. I received a response to advise the Hotel have parking at 10E per night that was fine we eventually parked the car at the carpark and at Hotel reception we were told to get the ticket validated prior to paying at the car park which we did and anticipated it would be 20E for 2 nights. Well surprise surprise it was 38E as we didn't move the car during the day we were charged an extra 18E = 38E. Also the room was so noisy on both nights as there was road works and pipes being laid outside our window until 2.30am, The first night we thought, just a one off, the next night it was worse. The internet was also so poor it worked periodically and when we travel it is important as my partner needs it for work, after hours of trying to submit a document he gave up. I mentioned the noise to the receptionist when we paid, the response was they can't control the road repairs, however they are given months of notice but its hard to know when the repairs will occur. Pipes dropping on concrete until 2.30am outside their bedroom could be cause for the management to take some interest. We didn't , mention the excessive charge at the carpark , we were not told about or the internet as I have no doubt the degree of concern with a nice smile would have been nil.
First class beds and bathrooms, super friendly and helpful staff, and the location is perfect to visit the old town in Nice. We were three friends and three nights. Our flight to Nice was delayed, but the helpful man in the reception was waiting for us at street level at one o'clock at night, to carry our suitcases. A little noice from the street, but that must be expected in one of the main streets near Place Massena. And we could have closed the balcony door if it was bad, there was a well functioning air condition.
just back from 5 days at this hotel, reception is up a flight and a half of stairs.reception staff were very very friendly and helpful at all times, the room was a good size and the shower in the bathroom was good, the room was cleaned very well each day and was spotless.did not eat at the hotel so cant comment on the food, overall we had a great stay at this lovely place and we will be back next time in Nice.
Small hotel next corner from main shopping street and short walk from the beach. For a 3 star hotel it was a good suprise. Room was clean and enough big. Bathroom and toilette were separate The best was very very friendly personnels. I have been travelling a lot. This was one of the best experiences.
Small hotel with clean rooms and very friendly staff. The location is great, close to all you need, shops, pietonal center, beach and station. I think this hotel is a great option on a budget in Nice.
Situated just a few hundred meter from the Massena place, this hotel is ideal for those who want a very centrally located hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms not so small as we have had in other Nice hotels. Everything clean, and the price is lower than one can expect. It may be a problem for people with difficulties in stairs, as the reception is on first floor, and there's no elevator. But you don't need to be afraid bringing heavy suitcases, as the receptionist helps you to carry your luggage up to the reception. All in all: Absolutely recommendable!
The hotel is very very near Galeries Lafayette in the city downtown. It is a 3 star hotel but, from several points of view, we could consider it a 4 stars indeed! Big camera, apart the easy possibility of hearing the closest room, unfortunately. Very good price as well
* First of all the staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is near perfect. * Rooms are not so tiny as expected in France :-) * equipped with electric kettle with set of tea-bags and packs with instant coffee * Daily cleaning service * strong wi-fi all over the hotel Reception and rooms are on the second floor and taking into account that the hotel doesn't have an elevator - you better do not take heavy suitcases if you are not traveling with a strong man who can help you with carrying another little warning: during our stay we struggled with finding the power socket. It was only one available per double room, and it was on the opposite wall from the beds .. so if you are traveling with number of devices just be prepared as it might happen in your room as well.
Amazing Hotel, with the friendliest staff you could ever hope for and such a bargain! If you go to Nice, I would definitely recommend this place, it's a very good location for shopping, beach, dining, station, as its pretty much in the middle of everything, with plenty of busses to/from the airport. The receptionist was a very nice man, who was very humble and more than happy to help, despite managing to hold a conversation in French for a good 5 minutes or so, I finally had to ask if he could speak English, which he could very well and is also a very good cultural guide, recommending some great bars and restaurants! We spent the first night of our honeymoon here, before journeying along the riviera to Italy and I wish we could have stayed longer, even if I was sick of the shale beach, before I even got into the water! You must stay here if you visit Nice!
The location of this hotel is superb. It is right beside the Galleries Lafayette and three minute walk from Place de Messena. The hotel is on the second floor. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Two small issues, wifi access, each device needed a separate user name and password and was set for a specific time which I thought unnecessary. The other issue was the noise from the televisions from the adjoining rooms was intrusive.
