Don’t believe the good ratings!!!!

It was dingy and cramped with peeling paint and mold in the shower. The bathrooms smell like a sewer and are barely separated from the bedroom. But this was only the tip of the iceberg. Every day when we left our room, we’d lock the door. And every evening we’d come back to find it fully unlocked. We asked an employee about this and he said only “It’s the cleaning lady.” We had to SPECIFY that we wanted her to lock the door. We returned next day to find the door fully unlocked again. Finally, on our first evening around 11PM my friend and I were talking in our room, and a woman knocked on the door and asked if we could keep it down. We apologized profusely and were silent from then on. The walls are super thin. There was no music on, no TV, just us having a conversation. The next day when we were coming back to our room the hotel manager (?) stopped us and said there had been a problem. He said we had been loud. We immediately apologized profusely again. The bizarre thing is that he proceeded to berate us for a good five to ten minutes. He said she had recorded us (HUH?!) and after 10PM you have to be very quiet (no one had said this). He said we were at risk of being kicked out and acted like we had committed a crime. I’ve never felt more unwelcome anywhere. I’m a quiet person, I try very hard not to bother others, and we stopped as soon as we knew. We were terrified the entire rest of our stay, tiptoeing, barely whispering, scared to brush our teeth. Horrible.

The hotel was absolutely charming and convenient. Our room was clean and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the very large tub. Elaine was especially nice and helpful. When we arrived, she carried our heavy bags to the first floor reception area and held on to them while our room was being readied and then left them in the room for us on our return from exploring Nice. The day we were leaving, she kept them for us while we took a train to Mentón and Monte Carlo. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend Arome and would absolutely stay there again.

I selected Arome Hotel because it was close to the beach in the center of Nice at a reasonable price. I don't recall knowing it was a boutique hotel. It was smaller and more rustic than I was expectimg. That being said Arome Hotel was a very cozy and charming

From the moment we arrived, Pierre welcomed us like old friends. He made us a cup of coffee and held our bags until our room became available. We toured a bit and upon return our bags were in our room. The room was well styled, comfortable, dark and quiet. His daughter gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and transportation. It is a gem of a hotel.

I rarely leave reviews, but Hotel Arome was very special. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained, without losing its local charm. The staff were all extremely helpful (especially Pierre, who took special care to make the stay comfortable). Such a great hotel that I’ll probably visit Nice again just to stay there.

The isolation wasnt good we could hear people and cleaning from 9am and woke us up but not the hotel fault. And the owner is a great person and very helpful. Free croissant every morning which we found cute and nice. The hotel was close to the beach too. Overall good experience thanks :)

Arome Hôtel was incredible during my stay in Nice! The workers were so accommodating and nice, the area was walkable to many popular spots, and the rooms and common areas were kept very clean. I stayed for about two weeks and I had an amazing time! They keep your room stocked with coffee, hot chocolate, and tea, you wake up to a complimentary croissant at your door every morning, and they even have towels and umbrellas for the beach so you don’t have to spend money on the beach clubs or go buy your own. I especially liked that there was a code you would have to enter to unlock the door to the building or ring the doorbell camera so someone at the reception desk could let you in making it very safe! I would definitely stay here again!
