First of all I would like to say that the hotel is very nice, clean, well positioned and I have no complaints about the hotel itself. The problem was with the parking. They have a contract with Indigo public parking at Lenval Hospital. We stayed 5 nights in the hotel so we were asked to pay 5x13.5=67.5 euros. When entered the parking we saw the daily price of 28euros so we thought we had a good deal. In fact we were tricked and I will also make a complaint to Accor. They do have a tariff of 60 euros for one week but we were never given the option at the check-in (i.e. pay 7 euros less). I have also found out that the parking has actually cheaper rates for long term: 5 nights would have been 55 euros and goes up to 79 euros per month!! When the receptionist was confronted with this situation the answer was: we in fact helped you to get a good rate and we don't see any reason to be upset. The lady was not reasonable as she clearly didn't see any difference between 55 and 67.5 euros. It's not a huge difference but it's a matter of principle. Pay attention because the room service is not included in the price! (there is an additional charge of 18eur/intervention for that) Normally you would think that this is included (like everywhere else) but not... Also, there are some Romanian ladies working at the reception. Being a Romanian national myself I could understand the rude comments they were making about the tourists behind their back. They have the impression that they own the place... Totally unprofessional and disrespectful.
We had 2 4-person apartments with sea views. They had two different layouts, one with a double bed and a separate kitchenette and one with twin beds and a larger kitchen/living room and larger terrace. Both were immaculate. There is loads of storage space everywhere and the kitchen area is well equipped with a microwave, cooker and dishwasher and plenty of crockery and plates. There is a supermarket just behind the hotel which has everything you might want to self cater We were greeted by Mirela who was fantastic ( also had Vanessa and Lavinia on reception during our stay , helpful and friendly) . She showed us on the map where the bus stops were to town and the numbers to get, and where the supermarket was and recommended a great nearby restaurant ( Brasserie Magnan, we loved it ) I would say our apartments had been renovated very recently they were on the 4th floor. Everything was immaculate. Plenty of towels , and hand & shower soaps of good quality. The bedroom has a lot of storage, large sliding mirrored wardrobes with a safe and a chest of drawers. There is a full length mirror in the hallway and the toilet and bathroom are separate . The aircon worked well. On the roof is a sun terrace with loungers and beautiful views. There is bus stop right outside that takes you to and from the airport in minutes and also into town. We took the No 8 to the port as well and took a boat trip for 1 hour round Cap Ferrat ,this is not advertised much but there are trips at 11 and 3 at 18 Euro. I would book ahead. The office is on the town side of the port. There is a free water taxi that crosses the port to the other side . We had breakfast in the hotel both days and it was excellent. There is a choice of coffees from a machine but really good quality. You can boil yourself an egg or make freshly squeezed orange juice and toast. Hot food - beans and tasty decent quality sausages. 2 or 3 different kinds of bread to choose fro, several meats and cheeses and fresh fruit such as apricots and peaches as well as apples. There is also a fresh fruit salad , yoghurts, cereals. I cant see how anyone could find fault with it to be honest We were able to pay to keep one of our rooms for late checkin so we could have showers before our late flight home , this was a huge bonus If you are on a bit of a budget but want the " Riviera experience" I would recommend a sea view room at this hotel, it is worth being slightly out of town to have the views in my opinion. There is building work behind the hotel putting in a new tram line and when this is done it will go to the airport and al the way to the port , it will be fabulous. I definitely would come back here and would recommend it to anyone
Despite a misunderstanding with our room which was quickly rectified, our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Adagio Nice Promenade Des Anglais. Beautiful views of the coastline and beach by day and night, close to the airport and bus routes although some distance from the town. Quite cheap by Uber though. Undergoing some refurbishment. Staff were brilliant and couldn't be more helpful.
I had an upper floor studio with sea view. The views were incredible, both on the sea and Boulevard des Anglais. The room was bright an large, with a separate kitchenette which has everything, including a large fridge.
We booked and paid at this establishment before we arrived. Upon arrival they just inform us that the (more expensive) sea view apartment that we booked and paid for is no longer available, we will be moved to a (cheaper) city view apartment. Unacceptable... Apartments also in desperate need of renovation, and thorough cleaning.
This apartment block has everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen. Table and chairs both inside and on the balcony. Nice toiletries and hairdryer. Plenty of hot water and towels. Housekeeping 18 euros whenever you require it. Secluded Sun terrace on the roof with shower and toilet and no fighting for sun beds and views to die for. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Although a bit of a walk to the old town, the bus stops opposite the block and for 1.50 euros this causes no problem. Would definitely recommend it.
I was on a trip with my friends and we were decided to live here. This hotel is perfectly located at the promenade and offers two viewing options viz the city and the beach. The old town is located exactly 15 min by bus or a 40 min walk along the promenade. Since its located on the promenade the beach is just a across the road. If you take my opinion take the rooms facing the beach as the view is just beautiful. The bus stop is exactly opposite the hotel and the airport and station is located with 15 minutes. The apartment is fully equipped. They only clean your room every 4 days. The room is well cleaned and has all the amenities. The staff is really friendly and will help you out on any query. Its a great place to live in if you are looking for a place in nice. Its not a luxury stay, its just an apartment. They do provide you with towels.
Just stayed there for few days. This is the poorest 4* hotel i have ever stayed. Old furniture, very narrow WC that a tall person like me can hardly fit, it's also amazing that there is only a transparent curtain. The "city view " room looks towards the highway and there are lots of lights. There is ongoing construction in the hotel but also on the back Street Ave California. We won't go back.
We booked this hotel 6 months in advance and I had emailed them with an enquiry and had that answered - but when we turned up they didn't have our booking! Luckily for us there was a room available and they honoured the rate. It was okay and on a central bus route from the train station and was a good base. We stayed in studio room with a city view - the road works out the back, but in fairness we weren't there for that. The bathroom although nice and clean, provided a challenge every time you went in, first open the door walk in and move into the shower so you could close the door, there was very little room and I know that bathrooms are small but the design was mad. I feel that the photos on the website are not a good representation of the rooms available. I understand that there is a renovation in progress. The only time I got spoken to was on check in and she was lovely the rest of the time I could have been a complete stranger. The morning we went to check out there was no one at reception so we deposited our key and left. We've stayed in a lot of different types of accommodation on this trip and chain hotels need to improve their customer service skills.
Upgraded to a sea-view room which was nice. Initial impressions weren't great: hotel looking a bit shabby with bright pink walls and construction lift – hence the building work. Room wasn't in the best condition either. And being on the main road made it pretty noisy with the balcony door open. However, as we settled in and got to know Nice, we realised the hotel was in a great spot; excellent for walking into Centreville, and far enough away from the masses of people over Easter. The room was also big and well equipped and had everything we needed. So overall, for the price, it was good, but definite areas for improvement.
