Convenient location. It is very much a basement. Not much light. Mediocre finishes. Bed is comfy tho. You can hear the owners walking around upstairs but that didn’t bother me. I’m not a nervous person about security but the locking method is a little odd. Had to deadbolt ourselves in to the bedroom. Didn’t love that! Didn’t seem safe for fire safety. But overall it was very close to all the wineries so it served the purpose!

This is not s vineyard. It's a rundown house and very difficult to find. There is no number on the house. The owner was not friendly and I had fear. I didn't stay there.

Basement Unit - Dark, no natural light, windows that couldn't be opened, like a cave, depressing, damp no bureau (there was an cabinet but it was actually for the linen of the house in the hall) no closet (there was a clothes rack but it was broken in the hall) Bathroom, toilet that had to be flushed at least 3 times to clear it, so loud it woke the house if used at night, shower water handles are difficult to turn on or off. Lighting bad, too. It did have a large refrigerator but what use is that when you didn't have a stove top to cook on. There was a microwave, a toaster, a electric tea kettle and a coffee maker. The sofa was so old you sunk into it. Also, it had a barn door and the lock (if you called it one) was a locker lock that you click onto a metal hook to secure your room. We slept without it being locked because there was only one door. If you didn't have an iphone you had no TV, we didn't have one, so no TV. No, cannot recommend this to anyone. This is the first bad review I have ever given. We were not happy, totally surprised because the pictures made it look nice. We also couldn't find the pool! LOL, I can't, I just can't express how sad we were with this place. Oh, It was a great location for us, directly in the center of all the events we were attending. Other than that, no.

Great Location!

Great spot for my husband and I and our dog - we were in the area to attend a friend's wedding and it was a perfect location, close to the downtown and the venue. Host was incredibly friendly and gracious and gave us some great recommendations while there!

Nice from far...but far from nice.

This property did not cater to the traveling woman. - Spider webs (ugh!) - No hair dryer - Shower H & C water handles darn near impossible to operate without a wrench. I had to have my husband and his kung-fu grip adjust the water temps in the shower. - Bathroom was full of unnecessary stuff (furniture) but offered almost no space on which I could place my overnight kit. - The placement of furniture in the space was ill- conceived. crowded in some parts and lacking in others. We "arranged" the furniture to fit our needs and then put it back before leaving. EXAMPLE: - Neither side of the king bed had a bedside table. Thats pretty standard. And, subsequently, if you have no bed side table, there is no bed side lamp on the non-existent bedside table. And nowhere to put a book, or glasses, or C-PAP machine - The pullout couch reminded me of a swayback horse. Time to trash that couch - The TV was positioned on a wall that afforded no viewing from the main sitting area or the bed. - No stove top or oven. My husband and I would look for alternate accommodations were we to travel this way again. Peace

Convenient but did not meet expectations

Bed comfortable, apartment reasonably clean are the good points. This is a basement apartment with a noisy powered cottage toilet and with lots of walking heard from the upstairs people -- presumably the owners. We've stayed at lots of overnights in houses but this was far below the standard. Luckily we had only booked 1 night and we left near dawn.

Absolutely Frustrated

If you want to go to sleep before midnight, this is NOT the property for you. This property is a basement apartment and the owners could be heard walking upstairs until 11pm the first night and after midnight on our second stay despite their stated policy for guests for quiet at 11pm. With no response from them after letting them know we were unable to sleep due to the noise, we chose to leave at 1am as that was less stressful. We still have heard no response from the owners. Again, if you have no desire to sleep, this is a wonderful space. Felt very disrespected as guests by their seeming obliviousness to their own rule and lack of communication since informing them of our issue.

Convenient, comfortable and caring!

This property is conveniently located in the heart of Virgil, just 5km from NOTL old town. We did not have a car so it was ideal for us- within walking distance of the property there is a great brewhouse/pub and are some good dinner and breakfast options, grocery stores, and of course a few wineries as well. We were lucky to meet the owner who was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and make sure we were comfortable. We highly recommend this place for the overall experience.
