Good location, but thats about all

I first stayed at Phu Quy 2 three years ago. It was nothing flash then, and has slipped further since. A great location, being one building back from the beach road, but everything else is lacking. Staff, except the lovely sisters doing housekeeping, are surley and unhelpful. It appears as though guests are an inconvenience for them. Facilities are old and run down. It's a shame because it could be a really nice hotel. The bed is saggy and the ancient springs creak and groan. Breakfast is something you want to be early for. Once the Chinese have been through, the pickings are slim, and cold. I had a balcony room, with a great view, but with that comes significant noise from the busy street, which matches the noisy Chinese inside the place. My ultimate test. Would I book again? Nope. Lift your game Phu Quy 2.

Terrible experience!! Worst ever!!

I checked in on a Friday. Had a room with a small lanai, w/ocean view. About 8PM music started across the street on the beach with a loud boom box beat!! It went on until 2AM!! Was so loud it vibrated my room. The next day I asked to be transferred to a different room. They claimed the only be 3 floors lower but, the exact same location. Saturday night, the exact same thing!! Worst hotel experience I've ever endured...Monday night there was no boom boom music & was okay. I would never stay there again & if anyone did I would make sure there will not be music across the street!

Nice location but room maintenance could be better

Water from toilet was running down the bathroom one evening. One staff was coming to repair the toilet and let the floor full of water. I had to ask him to dry the floor. The staff cames back to clean but when he left the floor was still wet and the floor towel was soaked with dirty water. Staff willingness to provide services has to be improved.

What a dump!

This place is a dump. I found a better place down on the street for the same price. The female manager was extremely rude to my friends. She threats to cancel our reservation, simply, because we asked for a room with working air condition. She told us take the room with mom working AC or leave with out a refund. Thus, it prompted me to look for other hotels down the street with same price and better shape than this dump. I do not recommend to anyone to stay at this place. The breakfast is bad also.

Good bang for the buck!

Room was clean and spacious. Location is perfect as the beach is just across the road. Breakfast buffet was good, but be sure you arrive early. I think you get more than you pay for in this hotel.

great hotel, great price

If you're a traveler than you can disreguard negative reviews, if you wanted an experience like home, pay for it. sure, the small window in the bathroom didnt close completely, and the fridge kinda sucked, but it was also fully stocked. Water pressure sucks everywhere in this city, dont forget where we are. Tv signal can be a bit buggy but wtv. The pool on the roof is cold, (i find it refreshing) but the ocean is hot so get out there. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and cleaned daily. Everything else is great.

I highly 'won't' recommend it!

The only good thing they did was gave us a temporary room. We arrived early in the morning from Hoi An and check-in time was at 2 pm. Everything else apart from that was horrible. The room was old and not very comfortable. We booked for a double deluxe room with one bed, we got 2 single beds. My husband asked about it and the answer was, "only for one night sir" - not a fair reason. We had a meal and the rice had a thick strand of hair. The most annoying part was their reaction when told about it (seemed relaxed)! The shower cap left was a used one!

Very pleased with our choice of booking at Phu Quy

We were very happy staying at the hotel as it was very close to the beach and all the restaurants. Our room with a sea-facing balcony had a lovely view during the day as well as at night. It was easy to catch a taxi just outside the hotel. The cleaning staff and the chef in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with many choices. The only downfall is that the Receptionist was not very friendly for a front-office person, she seems to have an attitude and doesn't go out of her way to enlighten you about places to visit to encourage tourism in Vietnam!!

It was on the edge of the city, but it is easy to get to everything once you know the layout of the city. Helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Intersecting range, all local produce. Comfortable room. Wifi connection was the main problem. Very unstable connection.

A 2* masquerading as a 4*

The hotel is sited just off a busy road and very noisy all night. There is no tea or coffee provided though you have a kettle (but no cups!!) the staff are sullen, disinterested and unhelpful unless forced into doing something. The room was only just adequate and not particularly clean. Avoid this hotel, there is better quality available at same price.

As two young backpackers, we really enjoyed our stay at Phu Quy 2 Hotel. It was basic and had everything that we needed. We loved the location too. Wish we could've stayed longer! Hotel staff organised train tickets too.

I have never met a more apathetic staff in my travels!! They were lazy and didn't have any idea how to relate to travellers and their needs. The breakfast buffet was ok but if you arrived even half an hour before the end, you were lucky to get anything that was freshly cooked. Cold chips for breaky??? The table cloths were filthy and our toilet flusher wasn't working, so they simply took the top off it & we had to use the inside of the cistern to flush it. The bedside lampshade was non existent. The only good thing going for this hotel is the location & view if you get a deluxe room. Far from deluxe!!

Worst hotel stay ever!

The hotel was old and rigid. House keeping did not replace the sheets or towels, just refold them. Staffs were lazy. Doors are really old so it was hard to open. Room had that wet musty smell. Do not rent this room!
