Located in small street, another name for this hotel is Opal Hotel. Street and the neighborhood is busy and bit dirty. Rooms are very simple, bed quite soft, bathroom not so pleasant (only one towel per person, no shower gel or shampoo, better not to use shower curtain ... ). Breakfast quite poor, especially for people outside of Asia. From 6 am we could "enjoy" the construction work in the hotel and outside of the hotel. Not recommended.
Dirty, small, old and gross. The service was terrible, staff didn't want to help, they tried to keep my passport, I asked them to take a copy which they then tried to give to me however I said no, you have the copy I will have my passport back thanks!! DODGY Very dissapointed as it was so much older than the picture! Didn't even bother looking at the pool. Our room was horrible. There were bugs in the bed, holes in the sheets, hair on the floor, I doubt it had been cleaned for a very long time as my feet were filthy after walking around. As it so happens there are next to no reviews online for "Opal Hotel" as it has only recently changed its name from Golden Dragon or Glory Dragon which has terrible reviews! Breakfast - tried the hotel food as we had paid for it. Worst meal of the trip. I had a couple of mouth fills, rice was hard & chewy everything else looked like it would make you sick I only ate a hard boiled egg as it had a shell on. After arriving I would have left immediately if I could have, however I had paid $70 NZD for the room and doubted I would see a refund. We moved out early the next day. By the way there is sign up in the entry with pricing... It was showing half the price that I had payed for my room. Great.
I am staying here right now and hope to get out in the morning if i find another hotel. There were no towels. The shower doesnt even have walls so you flood the bathroom when you shower. The tv is so fuzzy, it cant be watched. The room has no window and very hot. It is located down a dirty alley. The staff are very unhelpful. The only good thing is the price.
Terrible breakfast if you could call it food staff were useless didn't help with any questions no hot water the lift was disgusting power went out every night and Internet stopped at midnight rooms were horrible felt only springs in mattress Do not stay here we booked into opal did not know this place had two names Opal and golden dragon Yuk yuk yuk worse place ever
I booked superior room. But my room is upgraded to Deluxe room with window, i can see ocean view in the morning. Breakfast buffet is very good. Staffs are friendly, helpful. However, there is a construction near the hotel. I think that it will be finished soon. I will back if i have another chance. thank you every one.
The first room we were given had not been cleaned from the previous occupants even though it was 9 am when we arrived! The second was small but clean & adequate. However, we were surrounded by building sites which were in full swing by 7 am. Entering & leaving we had to step over trenches & squeeze between lorries & builders, who didn't make way for us. Not good at all. Not to be recommended.
We booked this hotel for two nights, but we stayed only one. The room was dirty and there were plenty of bugs. The Hotel staff did not speak english and tried to give us a standard room (without window) where as we have payed for a deluxe room with window. The only good thing was that we could check in at 6 am. The rest was horrible and we can not recommend this place.
The room was quite small, the bathroom even smaller. You could shower while sitting on the toilet. The shower was not separate, so when taking a shower you would have flooded the whole bathroom. In addition to that the room had a moldy smell. For my standards the room was also not clean enough. I stayed at hotels in the same price range which were far better than this one. I decided not to stay there and checked out without even spending one night. Luckily I found a much nicer hotel close by.
We booked this place on bookings.com but when we arrived the staff were completely disorganised and tried to put us in a standard room when we had paid for the deluxe room. We opted to cancel because the place looked quite grim and the rooms very basic. The hotel was down an alley which had a lot of construction (this seems common for nha trang at the moment). The saving grace was that the hotel staff were very sorry and immediately gave us our money back despite the fact we booked on bookings.com.
