I bought this timeshare sight unseen last year, but was very pleased with the very large 2 bedroom/2 bath unit we have on the top floor with stunning harbor views from one of my balconies. The well appointed condo was a great home base right in the heart of Thames Street with a full kitchen and laundry. The staff was very friendly and reacted quickly to requests. However housekeeping was supposed to visit the unit once to clean and replace supplies, but didn't despite 2 requests to do so. The only negative. We had an awesome vacation and can't wait for next year.

This was the first time for us to visit Rhode Island. Of the six Wyndham resorts in the Newport area we chose the Onshore, and were not disappointed. The check-in was smooth, friendly, accommodating. The location was exceptional: right on the Newport Harbor where there are numerous sailing schooners, yachts, etc in and out of the harbor. For us (we like to walk) the location was walkable to the Historic District, and close to numerous shops and restaurants.

the resort is very nice and so are the staff. room was very nice we had bay view on top floor. will stay there again. had good parking areas. had all the items you would need to cook. close to a super market

We had such a wonderful time. The location of the condo was perfect for walking to food and shops. We feel so lucky to have received a unit with so many views of the water as well as a fully operating kitchen and washer dryer. The decor was just a little dated but really comfortable. The first day the kitchen felt pretty small but it really had everything we needed and we miss it now after coming home - would rather still be in Newport with the quaint kitchen and beautiful scenery.

Just stayed here last month, in a two bedroom unit. The building is clean and well kept. The kitchen was small but it worked great for us. We cooked several meals there. You are surrounded by the colonial part of Newport (well, it's almost all colonial I guess!) and it's great to go out walking and exploring. Several good restaurants nearby as well as Trinity Church. The location would be hard to beat. I would stay there again, without question. The staff is helpful and the location was pretty quiet (at least when we were there). Very relaxing and wonderful vacation. One small quibble, the parking spaces in the building we stayed in were a bit challenging to get in and out of (especially if you have two cars). They were under the building and there were many pillars and a somewhat narrow approach. With two cars, you park one car behind the other in a single long space. It can be done but it is not for the faint of heart!

Newport Onshore is right on the water with fantastic views of harbor. Elevators in all buildings and luggage carts in each lobby. The room was very clean and master bedroom bed was comfortable. Three televisions in the two bedrooms but in the second bedroom was an old style tv. Kitchen was excellent with everything you need. The only issue was the indoor pool. Not enough chairs for guests and needs updating.

The best part was we were convenient to the wharf area and restaurants. All within walking distance. We also had an unobstructed west-facing patio with beautiful sunset views. The beds were good, and the furnishings were okay. Not new, but nothing was broken.

Two couples stayed in 2 bedroom unit. There are large pillars under the building and you have to maneuver getting two cars into one long space. It was impossible to deal with. Luckily, because it's winter, we were able to park in Marina spaces in a typical lined parking lot. We would never stay here in the summertime. We couldn't even get into the space even when no car was parked on the other side of the column. The kitchen is tiny and only has the basics. There are no extra storage cabinets in the kitchen other than for dishes and glasses. In fact they put mixing bowls, silverware and pots and pans on an open cart in the kitchen. The cleanliness of the unit could have used improvement. There was a cigarette butt in an ashtray of water on the table on the deck. One deck had seating for 9 at 3 tables (not sure how 9 people could stay there). The view of the Marina was lovely from all windows. There was toothpaste or lotion on the carpet in the guest room. The bathroom floors weren't very clean and we had to go out to buy toilet paper. We arrived on Friday afternoon and they "cleaned" on Monday but all they really did was change the beds and replace the towels. The bathrooms were not cleaned and no additional supplies were provided. The twin bed and pillow I had were comfortable. The resort is within walking distance of lots of little shops and a fantastic restaurant, The Red Parrot. Came here on an RCI exchange but will definitely go back to the Wyndham Long Wharf next year. Unfortunately, there was no vacancy at Long Wharf this year.

We usually plan a get away to Newport the weekend after Thanksgiving last several years using timeshare points. Stayed here from Friday to Monday. First visit to this resort. Great location for walking to restaurants and shopping and the waterfront activities. While no where as busy as during the summer, it's surprisingly busy between Thanksgiving and end of year, especially on weekends. We had two bedroom unit, good condition, two decks with very nice views of harbor and Newport Bridge. Not a full time front desk and no planned activities to speak of, and no concierge, so you are on your own planning activities. Not a problem for us, but I suggest doing some research in advance so you don't get frustrated. There's more to see and do in this town than you'll ever do in a week. We didn't need to call maintenance for anything. Beds and furniture reasonably comfortable. There is a typical small indoor pool but not inside any of the resort buildings so you have to walk outside to come and go. Not enticing in the cold weather. There are no extensive grounds. Other than the pool area, it's just asphalt parking areas and the buildings, pretty much the same for all the time share resorts in the downtown waterfront areas of Newport. There are one way streets in this part of town, but not hard to find your way.

We reserved our long weekend months before and called the front desk to conform our reservation on the way. Rude woman at desk said we didn't have a reservation and suggested we call their other property. We called other property and that woman confirmed address on our printed reservation was the first we had called. We called rude woman back and although informing her we had a printed reservation she said there was nothing she could do. We then called RCI and they faxed our reservation. Upon arriving the rude woman at front desk said she found our reservation but that the room we had reserved was not available and put us in a smaller unit without a view. She indicated if were were Wyndham members she may be able to help but because it was an RCI reservation there was nothing to be done. Upon driving around facility to our unit there was a vehicle parked in the reserved spot for our unit for which we were provided a parking tag and no other spaces were available. We went back to front desk again and were informed there was nothing they could do because there was a bridal shower and people were parking anywhere they wanted. We ended up parking a significant distance away. A very unpleasant experience due to a single employee who should not be in customer service...
