PROS: Staff was friendly, parking was free in a town where most lodging charges a high price to park, there is a great breakfast restaurant next door, and the location at the beach and close to Newport, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and everything in the surrounding areas was fabulous. A/C worked well. Nice roof-top deck with chairs and tables.
CONS: The floor (some type of vinyl) was sticking up all over the room, causing black sealer/glue to cover the floor in a black dust, just from walking on the floor. My socks would not come clean. Also, the raised floor areas were a tripping hazard and so was the soft, "bouncy" floor in the room and on the upstairs walkway to the stairs. There was no elevator, so getting my suitcases upstairs was difficult (I'm 79). The beds were horrible!! The bedding seemed clean, but the mattress (advertised to be great) felt more like a box spring. It was incredibly hard and you could feel every spring in it. No padding on top of the springs at all. Room cleaning/supplying was poor. Cleaning only occurs when requested ahead of time (I'm on vacation - just clean my room!), towels, kleenex, toilet paper, also had to be requested. Even though we were two people paying to stay 7 days, they said we could only be given one roll of TP/day because "people steal it." When the room was cleaned, kleenex was not replinished and I had to ask for it. Towels were thin and small. I could say more, but out of characters.
