Unique old house transformed to an artistic little B&B like hotel, love the style and location, and friendly stuff next door. Since it was an old house, sound isolation was really bad, facilities looks a bit fragile, and toilet can get smily easily. Not a big problem for a family or close friends though.

I really enjoyed my time in Flip Flop Hostel and will stay there again if I'm ever back in Jiufen. The hostel is just a 2-3 minute walk from Old Street and offers a free night walking tour from 8-9pm. The hostel staff, Gaga, who was there during my stay was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hostel was homey, with a common area good for meeting and mingling with other travelers. I stayed in the dormitory on the 2nd floor - the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The toilet and shower area was clean, but was located downstairs and there might (not sure) have only been one common/shared toilet and shower - this wasn't a problem for me during my stay but might be good to know for more picky travelers. For early risers, breakfast is quite late at 9:30am, but there's fresh homemade bread! The hostel is not the easiest to find but should be fine if you follow/have the directions (with pictures) they provide. All in all, definitely recommend! Thanks, Flip Flop Hostel Jiufen! : )

One of a kind experience

Quaint little B & B. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Shared bathrooms. You get to wake up to a Jiufen that’s not crowded. And explore the old street at night till lights out at about 9:30pm. There’s the night walk at 8pm. Complimentary breakfast.

Good stay in Jiufen

We enjoyed our few nights at the Flip Flop Hostel in Jiufen. There was only one room left when we booked and I think it must be the smallest of all the rooms. There was a small tatami mat area next to the platform bed for sitting, and a desk area with two stools. There was nowhere really to put our clothes, but we managed by using the desk area as a folded clothing area and tucked our backpacks under the bed (there were cubbies under there). When I originally booked, I thought some of the images were of a sitting area, but they ended up being part of another room. This was my mistake. The main lobby where one can sit outside the room, is not super comfy as everything is wood. It is charming though. We had two things which weren't so great for us: the bed was super hard and neither of us slept terribly well (but that's just preference) and breakfast was served starting at 9:30. While it was tasty, we are super early birds and prefer to eat around 7:30 or so. Again, just preference but something to note if you wish to take advantage of the breakfast option. Overall I would stay here again, as the location is great, but maybe choose a bigger room.

Awesome place to stay at Jiu Fen

Staying at Flipflop hostel @ Jiu Fen was one of the best decision I've made! It is right at the end of the Old street, yet it's not far from the shops, and the best thing is that the hostel is very well maintained. If you love oriental + contemporary interior concept, you don't wanna miss this place!

很失望不會再入住

號稱樹屋房型其實是老屋整修用假水泥樹造型做為樑柱而已，並非真正的樹屋。店家建議的停車場離住宿地點超遠，一家人拖著大小行李至少十分鐘的路程。千萬別用衛星導航，因為根本就很難開車抵達，會像鬼打牆。最令我們失望的就是早餐，完全就是沒有品質的麵包，還要自己加熱，感覺有點受騙。隔音也很差，住起來真的沒有其他評論那麼好，所以必須在這裡跟大家分享真實體驗。住宿前慎重考慮。

整體住宿不錯👍

環境乾淨舒適，距離老街大約十分鐘內可以走到，早餐很健康，只是水果看上去不太新鮮，芭樂整個發黃軟掉，住的是有浴缸的山景房，美中不足是房內沒有沙發也沒有電視，只有靠墊跟一塊地毯，公共區域只有一張四人餐桌，由於六七點後九份商家剩不多，如果帶食物回房間吃其實有點不方便。
