We had a relaxing stay marking my husbands 80th birthday. So many good features: the lake view, beautiful sunsets, fully equipped kitchen, pool and ping pong, comfy beds, fire pit, and pet friendly. The owner John was very available by text or phone. We highly recommend his beautiful place.

beautiful location on lakeshore. home is lovely, comfortable, homey and really well- equipped. games, water equipment, outdoor fire pit, grill and plenty of kitchen gear - even lots of spices for cooking. neighborhood is beautiful with deer, squirrels and wild turkeys. a lovely stay with family - no notes! just a great stay

John is very quick to respond to any questions.The property is well represented on the site. the home is very clean and well stocked. Went fishing every morning and caught many bass and a few walleye. Plenty to do and some good food in the area. An enjoyable few days and would go again.

Excellent House

We had so much fun! Was great to have kayaks and paddle boards on site to use. That area of the lake was not overly busy with traffic so we were comfortable with our teenagers to go out on their own.

Annual family get away

One long weekend a year we get together with our adult children/ families. This was the PERFECT spot! Plenty of room for all of us (7 adults and a baby) with plenty of space to both spread out, and gather together. So clean and comfortable - everything we needed and then some!

Great stay for golfers

Property was easy to find and centrally located around all the wonderful golf courses in the area. Being on the water was also a huge plus. Plenty of things to do at the house both inside and out. We will be back!

Too good to be true!

John and Maggie have tremendous talent for creating the best atmosphere in a northwoods setting. Hamner’s Hideaway was a glorious place to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends!First of all, they provide you with absolutely everything, from stocking the kitchen with spices, having multiple kayaks for anyone interested in fishing/cruising, VERY comfortable beds with plenty of space, a STOCKED game room with everything needed to entertain, it goes on and on!We played golf (right nearby), reloaded with snacks/drinks at a nearby giant Kwik Trip, played pool/ping pong, and sat outside by the bonfire enjoying the beautiful stars.11/10 and will come again! Go there if you’re on the fence!

Amazing Thanksgiving

We had a great stay at this Lake Arrowhead property. My husband, my oldest daughter, my granddaughter and I drove from Virginia to meet my middle daughter and family who live in Madison, WI for Thanksgiving. The place was perfect for us. Lots of room, a very cozy atmosphere, beautiful setting, comfortable beds, a completely equipped kitchen and lots of games including a ping pong and pool table. It was very clean, had plenty of towels and lacked nothing. We got groceries at Aldis in Wisconsin Rapids and even went to the movies to see Moana 2! We had a great stay and would highly recommend the place. It was just what we needed! Madison, WIMadison

The whole package

Great house great location! The house is well stocked with linens and dishes. Pretty much other than our clothes all we had to bring was food. Nice dock out back to fish off of! We had 8 people stay and there was plenty of room for everyone. The pool table, pac man arcade, ping pong table and dart board were great and a lot of fun. Host is very responsive and was easy to work with. Has a nice burn ring out back to have smores and cookout. Overall we enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again.

Relaxing

Very peaceful and relaxing. This home has everything you need. Lots of board games to play,pool table,ping pong,dart board ,kyaks,paddle board's and a pontoon boat if you want to spend a little bit extra(definitely worth it) did a lot of fishing and just boat rides. Very nice and friendly lake community and if you want to get out of the house for a night check out Big Bear mini golf & Ice Cream and The Gift Shop. I would Highly recommend this place for your next vacation or getaway !!!!!

Fun stay

Hamner's Hideaway has a lot to offer rain or shine. Large tv upstairs and downstairs, pool table and ping pong table, tons of board games, single and double kayaks as well as paddleboards. The only glitch for my family is not being tech savvytWould recommend this stay!

Family Time

This is an above average property in a very nice area. There were a variety of activities to be involved in and plenty of space for our group of 8. It is well equipped both inside and out. Our only negatives are that a bathroom in the basement would have been much appreciated and we were disappointed that the pontoon was already rented out when we tried to reserve it a week before our stay. Nonetheless, one of the better VRBO places that we have stayed at. We would go back to this one!

Wonderful stay!

This was the best VRBO property we’ve ever rented! It was immaculate, well-equipped, and generously stocked. Comfortable beds, furniture, and linens. Despite being in a neighborhood, the location felt very private. We stayed with five children ranging in age from 16 months to 8 years. They had the best time in the game room and playing on the giant beanbags when it rained, and they loved fishing off the dock (lots of catches!) and kayaking when the weather was nice. The layout of the house and yard made it easy to keep an eye on them near the water. John was friendly and easy to work with. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy his place!
