I was prepared to make the trek from the port to the hotel but was surprised at a guy holding a sign of my hotel. It was a free transfer! I didn't know it was included and my stay was relatively inexpensive. Pedros (I think his name is) is a smiley, young chap who was gracious and helpful during my stay. The hotel is clean, good-looking and just literally a few footsteps away from the beach with soft golden sand. Excellent location! I am definitely coming back to Naxos and staying here again when I do.
I've stayed at Soula several times off season. I started because it was affordable. I continued because this place is both not in the middle of everything in Naxos and at the same time close to everything I need. I always spend my days walking, exploring. And Soula is the perfect starting point if you want to walk to the beaches in Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka. The rooms are simple, rather clean and no fuzz. I have a kitchen and a bathroom, I have air conditioning, wifi and a television (for the 9 PM international movie on Star). They usually have a young guy who speaks English. He picks guests up in the harbour and then drives a totally weird route to the hotel due to the one-way roads near the harbour. The next morning you'll find yourself close to the beach and close to the "centre" of Naxos Chora. And you'll find a nice supermarket next door. I've stayed at Soula during power outages, rain, snow, and sunny days. Bring a flashlight and you'll find the entrance on a stormy night. The beach is really close to Soula. But if you travel in May-September, remember the best beach ever is at Agios Prokopios. You'll find good and affordable accommodation there as well.
The Hotel Soula, Is a Simple and Well Maintained Small Hotel Only 50 Feet Away from One of The Best Beaches in Naxos Only 50 Feet Away. The Management is Doing a Pretty Good Job, Most of the Rooms are Good Sizes and With the Cleaning Staff Doing a Good Job Keeping the Place Clean. Overall, Good Price, Proximity to The Port with Excellent Restaurants.
great people, owners, workers!! We have spent several years of a month or more and will return again. we choose a studio as we stay for 4 to 6 weeks. Pick up and return to port is included in room or studio rates.
I stayed for just one night at the Soula hostel and it was a great experience. The room was a little bit small for 4 people, but still nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and they even made me a discount, because I carried my luggage all the way from the port to the hostel. They also offer free transfer from and to the port which is very punctual. I know it because I used it on the next morning.
My ferry arrived in Naxos at about 12:30am. There was a free shuttle from port to the hostel which was nice. After arriving at the hostel, there was nobody at the reception so we had to wait for somebody to come. After about 10 minutes an old Greek man who spoke very poor English came and gave me the key to my room. Upon entering the room, a heat wave of humidity hit me. The temperature in the room was about 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than it was outside. It was miserable! There were 3 other people sleeping already in their underwear because it was so hot. I went to reception to complain and the old man gave me a remote control for the A/C. I tried turning it on but it didn't work. At this point it was past 1am so I gave up. I was only spending one night so I wanted to get a good sleep but that didn't happen. One of the worst sleeps I've ever had, it was so damn hot! Pay the extra few dollars and stay at a nicer place!
We have stayed at Soula hotel studios for more years than we can count. Picked up at the port in the minibus, the hotel and studios are only a short ride to St Georges beach. we receive such a good welcome as always. We usually stay in room 47 but this is taken so we go across the hall for three nights. In room 47 we have a bit of a sea view from the balcony and the room has been upgraded to superior. The housekeeping is excellent as always, the kitchen has everything needed to make a basic meal if required. This year wifi is available in the studios as well as the hotel.
They wanted for 2 bottle of water 3€, i was on some Island and I never paid this much, so i asked if it's the right price, and she yes each bottle 1,5€. Later i translated the Bill and she bought me milk. They play on Tourist scrupulously. There Are other minimarkets nearby The Hotel was good, you get what you paid for, it's really clean, has a great location.
Spent 6 weeks there this year, 2015. Just the nicest owners and the best housekeeping we have ever known. Our studio apt. was perfect for us with a partial view of the beach from our balcony with a 3 min walk to that beach(St. George). This is our 3Rd year staying here! That says it all.
We had reserved a 4 persons superio room with a sew view. And thats what we got - a large room with amble space. Well equipped kitchenet and a great balcony with a small seaview. Room was very clean.
