Do not stay here, there are much better options in Natchez. The courtyard rooms have VERY thin walls, we could hear the entire conversation of people next door. We didn’t put in a complaint because they were talking at a normal level, it wasn’t their fault. The bed was extremely uncomfortable; the mattress was lumpy and hard, the bedding felt cheap and the bed itself was slanted to one side. I rarely leave a negative review but hopefully this helps someone else book a better experience elsewhere!

The room was quite spacious and had that old plantation type feel. The bathroom was huge but clean not so much. There was a pubic hair in the jetted tub which was a turn off as was the black stuff on the tile where the grout would be (I am assuming mildew). At check in we were told the front desk was staffed 8AM - 8PM, to call during that time if we needed anything. After the first night on that rock hard bed we were in need of extra pillows, when calling the front desk to inquire I was met with a bad attitude saying that she would have to check to see if house keeping was still on the grounds that those request should be made between 8AM - Noon, that is why we are told such at check in (I was not told that at check in), after discerning that it would do no good I did not argue back with this lovely lady. When going to take a tour of the house, we went through the front entrance into the foyer and were not met by any staff so we did our own tour of the downstairs and grounds. The upkeep of the outside of the house is lacking when up close and personal. The porch needs attention, as do the columns and there is a lot of clutter spilling out from an area on the back side of the porch that looks horrible. The best part though was The Castle Restaurant and Pub. The service was so so at the restaurant but the food was outstanding. The service at the pub was amazing as was the food. This could be an amazing place to stay if managed better with upkeep being a priority.

The Dunleith has been a part of or lives since our honeymoon in 2003. We have returned many times over the years to visit this historical plantation home. However, we have just visited for our last time. Unfortunately we had an eye opening horrible experience. We booked our stay at the Dunleith through Expedia. We arrived and noticed that our room, which was room 401 in the main house was a bit rundown. We however booked the next night as well. When we woke up the first morning there, my wife had what looked to be bug bites on her. We had a wonderful day in Natchez that day. We returned to the Dunleith to watch the word series game and went to bed. My wife asked me to turn on the light due to something biting her. I turned on the light to find multiple bedbugs crawling on our pillows and in the bed. The front desk was closed so we got up and left right then to go home to Lucedale, Ms. This was around 11 pm. The next morning I called the Dunleith to tell them what happened and I sent them a video I recorded of the bedbugs crawling in the bed. Jonathan the manager called me that afternoon and promised me a full refund. It’s been over two weeks. Jonathan text me and told me that I need to call Expedia and ask for a refund. Jonathan said that he had already spoken to Expedia and all I had to do was make the call. I called Expedia and they knew nothing about this. Expedia emailed me and said they have reached out to the Dunleith but couldn’t get an approval from them for a refund.

The commode was leaking to the point it would come on every few minutes. They had just put in a new tv and left it unplugged. One of the ladies from the front office fixed it. The next morning we couldn’t get it to work. The area directly outside our room was filled with junk.
