The Dunleith has been a part of or lives since our honeymoon in 2003. We have returned many times over the years to visit this historical plantation home. However, we have just visited for our last time. Unfortunately we had an eye opening horrible experience. We booked our stay at the Dunleith through Expedia. We arrived and noticed that our room, which was room 401 in the main house was a bit rundown. We however booked the next night as well. When we woke up the first morning there, my wife had what looked to be bug bites on her. We had a wonderful day in Natchez that day. We returned to the Dunleith to watch the word series game and went to bed. My wife asked me to turn on the light due to something biting her. I turned on the light to find multiple bedbugs crawling on our pillows and in the bed. The front desk was closed so we got up and left right then to go home to Lucedale, Ms. This was around 11 pm. The next morning I called the Dunleith to tell them what happened and I sent them a video I recorded of the bedbugs crawling in the bed. Jonathan the manager called me that afternoon and promised me a full refund. It’s been over two weeks. Jonathan text me and told me that I need to call Expedia and ask for a refund. Jonathan said that he had already spoken to Expedia and all I had to do was make the call. I called Expedia and they knew nothing about this. Expedia emailed me and said they have reached out to the Dunleith but couldn’t get an approval from them for a refund.
The commode was leaking to the point it would come on every few minutes. They had just put in a new tv and left it unplugged. One of the ladies from the front office fixed it. The next morning we couldn’t get it to work.
The area directly outside our room was filled with junk.
I truely cannot say enough good things about my stay it was interesting and fun . Beautiful grounds and accommodation.
Food in the PUB was fantastic
Cesar was great help five stars
I highly recommend this evening adventure!
Place looks amazing until you look closer then you notice that upkeep is a little lacking and cleanliness is to - hair in tub, caulking pulling away around unit door and tub, etc. Comfort was great and desk staff was awesome.
They no longer provide breakfast so not really a B&B.
A great historical place for anyone wanting to stay at the Dunleith House Inn. It was what we were needing for a quite relaxing weekend. The host at the check in building was super informative and very welcoming. Overall it was a good place for our experience. That being said, the place has potential being a great place if it was kept up better and things need to be repaired along with things it desperately needs like an ice machine, a map of the place when people check in, and a continental breakfast that can turn it into a superior bed and breakfast place. Just an opinion of two people that has stayed in many places in the United States.
