The breakfast was good and plentiful except no bacon. The rooms were comfy with nice beds. Maria was a sweet heart. But NO housekeeping service both days. I had to call for towel and coffee stuff. There were lots of fast food close by and I 40 interstate.
We are staying for the second time at this hotel. Have found it to be clean with a very good breakfast. Situated a couple of blocks from I40West. Staff have all been friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again. Reasonably priced, but away from downtown. Most hotels in Nashville are much more expensive.
I was there for two nights, everyone was friendly, the room was clean, bathroom was clean, everything worked. Room smelled nicely, had a nice selection for breakfast, everything was fresh and hot. The work out room was small but quiet.
What a disappointment! This hotel was old, not well cared for and smelled. There was the constant sound of alarms going off and homeless people chasing you down the hall begging for money. Our room smelled terrible and my feet turned black if I didnt leave my shoes on in my room. I wud not stay here again and do not recommend it.
Had a king size bed. Clean and comfortable, but the bed was a touch firm for my liking. Breakfast was great, they had bacon!!! Wife would have liked to have had a fruit selection. I am a rewards member so I stay at HIE all I can!
We were here on points so I can't speak to price. as a Platinum Member of IHG I have been to many HIE & this is middle of the road. Not a bad commute to Nashville for the day. The room was big, bed comfortable and clean. This is a little thing but the desk had no change for the coin laundry.....even though it is right next door to a bank (no one on day shift could walk over & get a roll of quarters?). Also if you used the microwave there is no service on the TV>>.what's with that? Strange configuration with a small open closet at the door but a huge walk in closet with no bar for hanging things up?
The hotel itself is nice; staff is super polite and professional. Location is just ok. Although, just 10-12 minutes away is the Green Hills area. The rate seemed high for the location. We stayed with a fairly large group and the hotel was accommodating to our needs.
We stopped here for a quick overnight on our way home. Staff was friendly, property was clean. We had to sign a document stating that we would not smoke in our room and if we did, we would agree to pay a fine. Okay. I've never seen that before but since me and my teenage daughter don't smoke, we quickly agreed. We were given Room134 which is down the hall from the lobby. The hotel was almost at capacity and it was close to 10pm so we just wanted to get to our room and get to sleep. The room smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. I turned the fan up but it did not help. It was like being in an icehouse or bar. I called the front desk and explained the situation. They said that they understood and they would be sure to note that it wasn't us that was smoking in the room. That wasn't my point. My point was that the room was uninhabitable. They did not offer to move us to another room and it was 11pm at this point. The staff mentioned that the smokers stand outside the front doors(near the window for Room 134) so the A/C was drawing in the smoke from outside. Nice. So - don't get Room 134 unless you love smoke.
We really like Holiday Inn Expresses. This room had a feature we always appreciate---the vanity/sink outside the main bathroom so that two people can get ready at the same time. The bed was very comfortable. And as requested we had a room away from the elevators. The breakfast was a good assortment, kept well stocked and clean. We left our room at 9:30 am and when we returned at 5pm we were exhausted and ready to rest---only to find the maid in our room. Seven hours and they couldn't make up the room for those staying an additional night? Someone needs to prioritize which rooms they clean first rather than just going down the line. When I said something at the front desk---no apology--only the excuse that they were very busy. Then maybe they need to hire another person when they are very busy. As a result we just asked her to leave clean towels and not make up the room. Very disappointing for such a nice place where we paid a bit more than the usual competitor.
Very clean, updated hotel. Large comfortble rooms with big screen TV and new bed. Short walk to you car. Local led close to Nashville with many local merchants need by. Has great breakfast in large nice area with plenty of seating.
