We got a cheap deal on this place, and the web page said 4 stars. No way is this a 4 star hotel, 2 at the very best. It was clean, and the staff were helpful. But it does not look like it has been decorated or refurnished in over 30 years. The style looks even older. There was TV, but no English language channels. The shower curtain fell off the wall and the receptionist reacted like it was our fault. The breakfast was limited, with juice provided in cheap plastic cups. I would not say this place was 'bad', but I would not go expecting anything but the very very bare basics.

We arrived at the hotel for a seven night stay having booked the penthouse apartment that was advertised as having a private lift, spacious accommodation and a terrace with a hot tub and a view of Mount Vesuvius. The hotel lift did indeed open up straight into our room but was not big enough to fit all our luggage in along with the two of us so we had to do it in two go's. When we got into the room it looked like it had been last decorated in the 1970's, all wood panelling and quite dark. It did indeed have a terrace with a hot tub (which incidentally filled with water but the jet sprays didn't work) but to see Vesuvius you had to peer through the wooden slates for a very distant view. My main complaint was the toilet. From the minute we got there it did not flush and we reported it to the man at the desk. His English was very limited (as was our Italian) but he said he would get it fixed while we were out. This didn't happen and we spent three days flushing the toilet by filling the rubbish bin with water and throwing it in. By the third day I went ballistic at the man on Reception and he did then get it sorted. By the end of the stay I couldn't wait to leave to be honest. Not one I would stay in again and don't be fooled by the 'four stars'.

I´ve booked this "4 stars hotel" room for 5 nights prepaid in advance. When I got to the hotel the nightmare started. It was a "1 star hotel" at best. At check in we´ve requested a high floor since this was a 5 nights stay and the street in front of the hotel is extremely noisy. The rececptionist basically ignored the request and assigned us to the first floor. When we got to the room it was super small and VERY dirty with mold and leaks. I got pictures proving my point. Both air conditioning and internet didn´t work. When we returned to the reception to complain the receptionist said he was going to reset the wireless router and about the air conditioning he said "open the window". It was not only a bad service but also a disrespect with me and my wife. We spent the first night on a very hot room with no air conditioning, windows opened and noise all night long. Nightmare describes properly. When we woke up from the first night we´ve decided to leave the hotel and moved to another one. Not recommended at all. Worst hotel ever. Hotwire should read the comments about its portfolio specially considering the business you run by only revealing the hotel after we pay. This was not a 4 stars hotel. Terrible service, terrible clealiness.

Very shabby not decorated since 1970s I should think.Rooms so small you can't swing a cat. Wardrobe fitted with these none removable coat hangers which fell apart every time you hung something on them anyway there was only 5. No lounge not even seats in reception. Whilst waiting for transfer to airport had to sit on a flower pot outside. It is situated in the middle of the shopping district with no bars or restaurants nearby. Main road out side gridlocked with traffic for at least 75% of the day. All motorists in the city use their horns continually add that to the blue lighting Ambulances that were fighting the traffic at least 3 times every hour you couldn't hear yourself think. Night time not much better. I think final straw was watching the 'Ladies of the Night' plying their wares out side the hotel Made you realise what a classy hole you were stuck in. Also charges us 49 Euros tax when we left what for I cant imagine.

At 60 a night our expectations were pretty low. And we were still dissapointed. We just stopped here for a few hour layover between Amalfi and catching the plane. All we really wanted was a place to nap and shower before a very early flight. Room 401 overlooks the street. It may have been OK but the shower was GROSS (moldy/dirty calking, ancient fixtures) and the hot water was sporadic to non existent. Staff was, understandably, unenthusiastic. The only reason I give this a 2 instead of a 1 is the location. Pretty eazy walk from train. Short cab ride to airport at 3am.

The room was spacious and clean with a nice view over one of Napels busiest streets. The bathroom was nice and clean, long wait for hot water 5room on the 5th floor) but there was enough for everybody. Breakfast is more elaborate than you would expect from a hotel in the south of Italy and very good.

The smell of damp hits you as you walk in, however our room was OK as a base, to sleep in, quickly shower and eat breakfast. Great coffee. Shower was a 'stand in the bath with a curtain' set up - bath needed re sealing desperately, mouldy groat. Cleaning lady was great and refreshed towels daily. Bed comfy, but you need earplugs to mask the traffic noise. DO NOT visit a nearby cafe, called 'splendour' - they charged my husband €11 for a whiskey and coke! Not pleasant surroundings, kids playing in the street past midnight. If you stay there, turn right as you leave the alley and walk towards the train station. Bars/ cafes near the station don't rip you off. Well worth walking to the ferry port and getting a boat to Ischia, Capri...

The location of the hotel was not bad. It is a 10 minute walk to the station and the bus stop is near, that takes you straight to the plaza where the tourist attractions are (r2 bus). The bus ticket is only 1 euro although everyone doesn't seem to have one so we jumped on for free most of the time. I wouldn't stay out too late and come back to the hotel as to everywhere in Naples as Naples is quite a run down city- felt a bit unsafe going beyond the main roads, the street is full of litter so the case of deterioration and hygiene issue is not just where the hotel is, it is around Naples. The breakfast was decent, the croissants are warm and very nice! They do not serve cooked food which is okay for us. The room was not as big but big enough for us, The shower however, caused us problems as the water would constantly change temperatures, the sink drainage takes time for the water to go down so most of the time water would just be piled up. The bed was clean and we got extra pillows and extra blanket, the air condition is not as strong so we leave it on everytime we leave to come back to a nice cold room. Overall, our stay was pleasant, I wouldn't not give this hotel a 4 star rating as I have stayed in 3 star hotels that are better but YOU CANNOT EXPECT A 4 STAR TREATMENT WITH JUST A 2 STAR HOTEL PAYMENT- you obviously get what you paid for. I honestly was dreading to stay in this hotel after reading all the reviews but it was not as bad as I thought

We were lucky enough to be given the suite at the top of the hotel, beautifully appointed, with direct access from the lift and a spacious, flower bedecked balcony cum terrace with a hot tub -though this was not functioning at the time [ we visited in April]. Unfortunately we had only one night here, I could have stayed far longer in that room! The only niggle was the coffee served with the rather uninspiring breakfast, otherwise an excellent place to stay.

What a lucky find right in the middle of Naples so easy access to everything ,it was a typical small Italian hotel a bit dated but charming we had a suite on the top floor with its own lift! patio with stunning views overlooking Mt Vesuvius. Most of the staff had good English and very pleasant too, would definitely recommend to anyone and if in Naples again would stay there again
