A very good breakfast to sample typical neapolitan products like provola, mozzarella di bufala, ricotta, salami, great pastries ( sfoglia! ). There were also beans in sauce and scrambled eggs. Asking the staff for a capuccino didn't cost any extra. It's not the cheapest though.

We stayed here for two nights in January. TRANSPORT: Taxi to and from hotel at approximately 20 Euros each way. Takes approximately 20 minutes. LOCATION: The location seemed safe and close to some of the busy streets. Most of Naples is covered in graffiti so try not to let this concern you. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to visit, we walked to the train station to then visit Pompeii. NOISE: Our room faced directly onto the street, on the Friday night this was particularly loud with what sounded like a big party on the street. ROOM: The room had very tall ceilings, a sofa, TV, dining table and two bathrooms. The one bathroom was for someone with a disability, I used this one because the other bathroom had no shower curtain which resulted in a flooded bathroom floor. The room was clean and had towels, shower gel and shampoo provided. STAFF: The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. BREAKFAST: For me, this was slightly average and could do with some improvement. Overall this hotel suited us for our two day trip and had all the essentials, you don’t really need much more for two days.

This hotel is outstanding. The staff are knowledgeable and extremely charming and helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful historic building offering all modern comforts with refined taste. One cannot imagine a more sumptuous setting for breakfast. It is in a quiet zone yet close to many of Naples’ most important places and tourist attractions and within walking distance from the sea. It is also only paces away from a host of shops and restaurants. After three nights here I was reluctant to depart and will stay here again if I revisit Naples.

I have just returned from 4 days at the Decumani de Charme. On arrival the reception staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The room was spotless throughout and very comfortable. Although in the heart of the old quarter of Naples it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was served in the amazingly decorated dining room, where there was a good selection of cold meats, cheese, fruit and an abundance of varied cakes and pastries. There was hot bacon, eggs and baked beans but this was not replenished often enough. There was a sunny veranda where you could relax if you didn’t want to go out. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to returning there.

The place is very nice and clean and the people at the reception desk are polite and helpful. The position of the hotel is amazing, less than one minute from the famous spaccanapoli and it makes it easy to explore by walking. The breakfast room is beautiful but the breakfast selection was limited. Overall a nice stay.

Our room, 132, was on the small side and you can hear the people in the adjacent room clearly, but the location of the hotel is fantastic for visiting Naples and being in the University quarter there are lots of great, inexpensive places to eat right near the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful suggesting excellent places to eat nearby. Would definitely return!

We stayed here for three nights over New Year 2017. We had an issue with the heating on the first night, but the staff were very keen to fix our problems by relocating us to an upgraded room. Staff are fantastic and friendly and the location is great if you like gritty downtown. But don't be taken in by the website, the dining room is fantastic and spectacular, the rest of the hotel is pretty shabby and nowhere near its alleged 4 -Star rating; the large number of bars and night-time hang outs around the hotel mean that it can be a bit noisy at night - but if you are into the post-midnight Napoli lifestyle, this could be just your place !

We checked into the Decumani Hotel de Charme located at Via San Giovanni Maggiore, Naples 80134 as it looked amazing on its website but was completely different when we saw it in person. In all honesty we didn’t get to see the breakfast room which is featured so prominently on the website but the photos of everything else from the outside to the reception area to the rooms themselves were so excessively perfect compared to reality that it did make us wonder about that breakfast area. Our room was large and clean and seemed safe but it was really nothing to write home about. Anyway, this wasn’t a problem as we only intended to use it as an overnight stay.

Decumani hotel de charme is a lovely hotel, situated right in the centre of Naples. Reception area is not that impressive but once you catch the lift to the room, you get to a palace. Beautiful but antique rooms very comfortable beds. If much, the toilet could be a bit renovated. Breakfast room is beautiful and the selection of food very impressive. Also, all staff extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

I selected the hotel based on location and 4 star ratings. Beside the friendly service provided by the receptionist staff the hotel is very disappointing. It’s a 3 star level at best . The TV system it’s a nightmare with a decoder not working properly and many channels scrambled ( Mediaset la 7 etc) had to call few times to fix it. Meaning resetting the decoder ( no instructions provided in the room ) room very noisy. Woke up at 5.00 AM by the noise made by the trash collector. Also the corridor floor is made of tiles you can hear anyone walking with a trolley early morning. Also the check out is surprisingly scheduled at 11.00 AM when in general the rule in Europe is 12.00. Breakfast the usual ordinary Italian’s style continental breakfast the breakfast room is nice but the offer is standard . Next time will choose a different hotel. Better to pay 10/20€ more but to get a real 4* hotel
