This is a wonderful small hotel. It is beautifully maintained. The staff are extremely accommodating. It is located in the heart of the city on a pedestrian street that is one of the high-end sections of Naples. Naples is a bustling, dynamic, busy, chaotic, beautiful and, at times, exhausting city. Thus, it is a relief to return to this jewel of a hotel, tucked above a quiet courtyard, with not a sound of the city audible once in the hotel. It is near the port (walking distance to all the ferries to the islands and famous Amalfi coast), the pedestrian 'lungomare', and Piazza Plebiscito, one of the most historic sections of Naples. Fresh towels daily and a nice breakfast to get you ready for the day always on offer. The staff always offer a smile and are willing to help with any concern. I cannot recommend this wonderful little hotel highly enough.
We stayed here with a group so it wasn't my choice. The bed filled most of the room so there was very little space to put stuff or move around. The shower stall was cramped. It's an old building that's been somewhat retrofitted to have more modern bathrooms. The bed was hard and the breakfast was limited. No eggs. The hotel is accessed through an inner courtyard and our room at least was quiet with the window closed and the AC on. The courtyard door has a small people door with a high threshold which one has to stoop to go through. Felt like a Hobbit. Would not go back. It was clean and in a convenient location to the harbor and shopping.
The people were nice and helpful here and breakfast was good. My husband and I were in room 119 and had one suitcase and one backpack each. The room is just too small. No place to lay suitcases, no surfaces to put out cosmetics, and you couldn't open the wardrobe doors to access the safe without bumping the bed!
Hotel Chiaia du Charme Tucked in the heart of Naples, Hotel Chiaia du Charme is a gem of a hotel with excellent rooms and an exceptional staff who went out of their way to assist us with our stay. You are within easy walking distance to many of the most famous sites in the historical center of Naples, from the Spanish quarter to the Teatro San Carlo and the Piazza di Plebescito. Breakfasts are a feast which include many local sweets. Each evening, the Hotel offers complimentary samplings of either local pastries or local savory items.
The best thing about this hotel was the location. Right next to the Piazza del Plebiscito (where the Royal Palace and church of San Francesco di Paola are located) and right off one of the main shopping strips. Even better, it is just metres away from the restaurant "Brandi" the "birthplace of the Margherita pizza". It is also, two metro stations away from the main central station. You enter the hotel by pressing one of the doorbells at a large door (we almost missed it when we first arrived as there is minimal street level signage). You are then buzzed in to enter through a small door. We quite enjoyed it's hidden nature. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate. Room was comfortable and our window looked out on to the street. It has an old fashioned charm with antique style furnishings. I would stay here again mainly due to the excellent location.
If you really have to be in Naples, this is a good place to stay. Very nice staff, spacious and beautiful rooms. We were in the hotel about 2 hours earlier than the normal check-in, but they had no hesitation to give us the room. The staff welcomed us as if we were a family member. Rooms were spacious, huge bathrooms. They may want to add a small step to the bathtub, as it is a bit high. The hotel is in a very nice locality. Lots of restaurants, walking distance to ferry and station ( less than 10 Euro). Definitely, recommend to anyone.
I spent 5 nights in the hotel while attending a scientific conference. Bottom line: I had a very nice time and was very pleased with this hotel, which is in a very good location with many nice places to visit within walking distance. In more detail: The hotel occupies a single floor in an old apartment building, in a way, similar to the "antique" nature and style of the city, which is a plus in my opinion. The room was not as fancy as in modern hotels, but convenient and equipped with what I needed (safe, mini-bar etc.). It was tidied up every day, and everything looked and felt very clean. WIFI worked very well and for free. The bathroom, however, was somewhat less than great since the shower compartment didn't seal well so water spread around and I had to sweep it every time. The service was very good and friendly. Breakfast was in the usual European style, fresh and tasty. However, it and was identical every day, so some variation could improve it. So to summarize, the "Charme" in the hotel's name is indeed justified.
We stayed for 3 night. The hotel is in a busy region of Naples, with many shops and cafes. It's down a pedestrianised street so no real traffic noise. It is above a restaurant so their can be a little noise from people, pots and pans. It's a very quaint hotel.. not over modernised the room had air conditioning and a tv. We arrived a little early and the reception staff offered us coffee and were happy to look after our cases while we went to formularise ourselves with the surroundings. The receptionist gave us a map and was really helpful. Our room was compact but very clean and presentable a little dark though. The bed was a little hard for us... but that's just personal preference. Breakfast is continental and a small but adequate selection is provided. The room was cleaned daily and the bathroom was clean well equipped. I can't stress enough how friendly and helpful the staff all were. Thanks to all involved for a lovely stay. Highly recommend.
Quiet location off a main shopping street in central Napoli. Nice breakfast, friendly and helpful staff who gave us great restaurant tips. Only slight negative was that the room was above the kitchen for a local restaurant so noise and smells permeated the room in the late evening.
This is not a hotel for people who want a sterile huge International chain. It is like Naples itself, quirky and full of character. It is located on the first floor of an old building on one of the main shopping streets, Via Chiaia. Well located, you can walk to the old town, the Duomo and Archaeological Museum and very close to the Spagnoli district where there are a host of little Pizzarias and Trattoria. The rooms are high ceiling-ed and comfortable. If, like us, you like to have a bath after a days walking around, you will need to book one of their superior rooms as the standard room only has a shower. But what makes this hotel extraordinary is the staff. They really go that extra mile to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, with advice on the best way to get anywhere and when there is a problem, to make sure that it is resolved to your complete satisfaction. I have traveled a lot, but have never seen personal service like this.
