Chiaja Hotel de Charme

I stayed at Chiaja Hotel de Charme for 5 nights in late June and early July 2017. The room was very comfortable, with good air conditioning to help us cool off after walking miles each day in low-to-mid 90's temperatures. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, particularly with transportation from the airport and to the train station. The included breakfast was very good, with a lot of different kinds of food to provide variety over a 5-day stay. The cost was also quite reasonable. I would definitely stay there again.

Our family of 4 got connecting double rooms right off the lobby for 2 nights. Being right on the Chaia was easy and fun - we could walk to the waterfront, Caffè Gambrinus, Galleria Umberto, and Via Toledo. When we first arrived, the courtyard entrance was a little confusing (look for the flags above the entrance and go up one flight) but once we knew what we were doing we enjoyed our secret entrance. Delicious breakfast, helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms. My teens would say the wifi was spotty.

Charming hotel on a central, safe street. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful. We could walk practically everywhere from this location. The area also had many nice restaurants to choose from.

My husband and I just spent 2 nights at this hotel and were extremely pleased with our experience. It is centrally located and we were able to walk to many sights, shops, restaurants and of course the lungomare. If you are a relaxed optimist you will succumb to it's charms. Chiaja feels like a secret hideaway- look for the flags hanging above the doorway or you'll miss it. You enter through an enormous door doing the day, which has a tiny inset door for night access, just ring the bell. Walking straight back though an ancient courtyard with several shops, you can either take the stairs up to the second floor, or the elevator( to your right). And amazingly a modern glass door self opens to a charming yellow reception area- far removed from the bustle of the streets. Surprise! Our room was charming and clean, with nice linens on the bed. Rarely have we stayed in accommodations where the owner and staff have worked as hard to ensure our comfort and to make sure we were pleased. They take tremendous pride in their establishment and it shows. A delicious Italian breakfast with breads, cheeses, fruit salad and pastries was included- and of course exceptional cappuccino. During the day, a gracious bowl of fruit was left in the reception area for snacking. Our room was an exceptional value for the price- and with lots of hot water and good water pressure, it was a relief to come home to shower after our long, hot and interesting city walks. We were in Naples at the end of July and of course it's hot. Our air-conditioning was flawless and we appreciated the internet. We have every intention of retuning again and would recommend it without hesitation.

Stayed here 15th - 22nd July, a thoroughly pleasant experience. Set inside a courtyard, this pretty ittle place provides a cool, calm and, above all, quiet {huge drapes and good double-glazing make a real difference!} retreat from the busy street outside. It's very much a traditional affair - old craftsmanship plays a huge part in the decor - and this is apparent in the efficient yet unobtrusive way the staff go about their business. The rooms are comfortable and benefit from Air Conditioning {an essential when it's 30-plus degrees outside. Overall, we were very, very happy with everything the accomodation provided {and we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms, a sneaky peek into one the unoccupied superior rooms could easily have turned us green with envy had we not been totally satisfied already!} . Breakfast is simple, cornetti, cakes and bread or what looked {and tasted} suspiciously like a home-made fruit salad. Served - of course - with typically delicious Italian caffe. WiFi is free throughout the hotel. The area in which the hotel sits is very safe, almost at the junction of up-market Vias Chiaja and Toledo. It's also surrounded by a positive plethora of eating opportunities. And just outside on the street there are many bars, the one just outside the main gates saved my life every evening after the day's wanderings had left me exhausted and gasping for caffeine. During the day Via Chiaja is pedestrian-only, though a wide thoroughfare into Piazza del Plebescito just down the street gives access to taxis. Thank you, Hotel de Charme, you added greatly to a thoroughly lovely holiday! Alan & Linda

I stayed here for a first trip to Naples with my grown family and we occupied 4 rooms. The location was perfect, very central and the staff on reception were great at helping us find shops and ferries etc. The entry to the hotel was very drab and tricky to find, rooms were very basic, bed was quite hard, air conditioning very loud and our bathroom had black mould in the shower which wasn't cleaned even after asking. Breakfast was simple and all that we really wanted as we were on a pizza eating mission!

Stayed 2 nights at Chiaja, which has some good qualities (price, location, clean) but a few things could use improving. The hotel is outdated. The beds were very hard. If one looks closely, there was peeling paint and such in rooms. The staff was very nice and responsive in emails, but in person lacked warmth. Breakfast offered was ok, although only one day there was fruit salad offered.

I am not sure why this hotel is getting a great rating. The bathroom was full of black mold, the safe box was broken, the AC only worked when the window was closed (ours was broken). You could see the bed springs on the mattress! It was absolutely awful, we will not be back.

This Hotel is situated in one of the nicest streets of Napoli, very central. I have to say that we were expected more, but still it is a quite decent place to stay. Hotel is placed in a historic building, room that we had was very small, with a balcony facing inside, so it felt a little claustrofobic... Breakfast was decent, service quite OK. We want to highlight the breakfast waiters that were very polite and helpful.

This is a wonderful small hotel. It is beautifully maintained. The staff are extremely accommodating. It is located in the heart of the city on a pedestrian street that is one of the high-end sections of Naples. Naples is a bustling, dynamic, busy, chaotic, beautiful and, at times, exhausting city. Thus, it is a relief to return to this jewel of a hotel, tucked above a quiet courtyard, with not a sound of the city audible once in the hotel. It is near the port (walking distance to all the ferries to the islands and famous Amalfi coast), the pedestrian 'lungomare', and Piazza Plebiscito, one of the most historic sections of Naples. Fresh towels daily and a nice breakfast to get you ready for the day always on offer. The staff always offer a smile and are willing to help with any concern. I cannot recommend this wonderful little hotel highly enough.
