A very friendly and helpful team run this clean, tidy hotel in the heart of the historic part of Naples. We were always warmly welcomed at reception and were offered good advice on restaurants and exploring the city. Located on a small square next to the side of the cathedral in the old town (which is a densely packed network of narrow busy streets) I found this hotel ideal for exploring the city.
My daughter and I stayed in this Hotel for four days in March, 2018. The location is excellent and convenient to shops and restaurants. The staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. Wi-fi was available, but only in the reception area of the hotel., which we found to be annoying. The breakfast was mediocre. Very poor selection of bread, meats and cheeses. Fruit was available on only two days of our stay. The room and bathroom were spacious with a nice high ceiling. The shower was small and pretty basic. There was a television in the room, which had over 100 channels available. However, all the channels were italian and no English speaking channels were available.
A very good hotel in the very centre of Naples - 2 mins. walk from Via Duomo. Clean and modern rooms and very good breakfast. Moreover the staff is helpful. We stayed there for four days and the holiday was brilliant.
I've seen some poeple complaining on Trip Advisor that this isn't up to its rating. It's not a luxury hotel but for mid range it's excellent. It sells itself as 4* though we always find it best to take a star off for British standards and were sold this by our holiday company as 3*+ which is about right. It's very central to Naples and a walk to many of the main attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony over the square. The staff were excellent and helpful and the room was well done by housekeeping every day. Breakfast was a bit limited and only continental but if you want a full English book into a resort! Recommended as long as you expect what you pay for.
Myself & my partner stayed here for 5 nights in may. The location is great, being right in the heart of old Naples, everything is in walking distance. The accommodation is more than adequate( we have stayed in both Verona & Venice previously & would say the accommodation is of a similar standard here) & is both very comfortable , clean & the hotel itself feels very safe. The staff were extremely helpful & only too happy to give advice & information, the lady & man with the beard on Reception were particularly helpful. With reference to the breakfast, we have been surprised by other people's comments. The breakfast is basic but definitely more than adequate. We would have no hesitation to stay here again, it's a lovely quirky hotel in a brilliant location, don't let other people's views put you off.
not sure how the star rating works in Italy, on hotel UK hotel ratings this was a 1. The only saving grace was that the female receptionist was extremely friendly. If you want a decent breakfast don't eat here. You get the bare minimum as they do not have a kitchen - processed meat and cheese, the cheapest of cornflakes, squash not juice, very hard rolls, coffee and weak tea (two bags required) and the table cloth was stained. If you are English speaking be aware that if you want to catch up on English speaking news, there are no English speaking channels on the TV
Small rooms, good location. The beds were very hard an the rooms were average. Breakfast was simple but the coffe was nice. The price we got online was ok. The location is a good starting point for exploration of the old town of Napoli
Spent 10 days at the Caravaggio Hotel at the begining of June this year. It states it is a 4 star hotel but would say it was more of a 3 star. It is set in a small piazza behind the Duomo Cathedral. The room have a very high ceiling making the room cool. The room was very clean with matching furniture. Two single beds had been put together but it was very comfortable, there was also a bed settee but that had seen better days. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and clean towels provided every day. Complimentry shower gel and soaps were also provided and replaced when used. The view from the bedroom looked onto a courtytard which was surrounded by residential appartments. This outlook was very shabby but beyond the hotels control. A basic continental breakfast was provided, which was enough for us. Wi Fi was only avaliable in the reception area due to the thick walls of the building. The staff were outstanding, very friendly, chatty and helpful, The only thing missing was a inviting area to sit outside. The Carrivaggio is located int the heart of the historic centre and is within walking distance of the Museum, the catacombes, the metro and train station .It is surrounded by local shops, restaurants and cafes.
We stopped here for a week. The hotel was clean. Our room was quiet and cleaned every day. The hotel is centrally located off via Tribulani where there is lots to see. The church opposite has an amazing Caravaggio alter piece. The breakfast was lack lustre. Bread cheese ham yoghurt . The same every day. It's hard going for a week which is why I've marked it down. The breakfast was not 4 star hotel worthy. We were concerned 're the location given previous reviews of dirt graffiti etc. However be aware..Naples is dirty and graffiti covered. Our first night I was wondering why we had come. But the location is safe and the people are friendly. The trattoria across from the hotel is a good place to eat and you can watch the Neopolitans and their kids while you eat.
Much in this hotel was out of date, so much so that I was expecting to see a sign saying "Frank Sinatra slept here ( and we haven't changed a thing since)." ! The other problem was the front desk staff, some of the grouchiest old guys I've ever run across. They were probably fighting over the young guys in tight pants who worked as maids. And the clutter of old record books looked as if they had been there since the '50's. They were certainly sticking with a theme. It was a "chore" if you asked the front desk to recommend more than one restaurant. Never mind asking for directions! On the good side, some of the rooms were updated, but the chances of Tri Adv clients getting those are slim. [Really, you think the hotels are going to let customers paying cut-rates use the best rooms? No.] There was a great view of the harbor from the breakfast room and the location was pretty good.
