Charming, historic, small hotel with the ambience of old Nantucket. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel offers great complimentary amenities. Staff is professional, friendly, and accommodating.

Beautiful spot - Stayed for one night Would definitely stay here again

The hotel was very nice. Very historic. It is right in Town and very close to shops and restaurants. The only small problem is that you can hear through the thin walls.

Great visit in the fall on Nantucket. Hotel was splendid, with continental breakfast. Selection could have been a bit more extensive but food was still delicious. Highly recommend the hotel.

Place was nice and clean but smelled like grandmas house

We came for our 35th anniversary. It was perfect and they had us in a great room as well as an unexpected bottle of champagne and flutes waiting. Dinner was great at their Prime restaurant.

The staff was excellent! Very sweet and accommodating and made you feel at home.

The rooms were a bit more dated than we expected but considering the location, cost, and staff helpfulness - it was good value and we would recommend. The hotel has umbrellas, towels, chairs and water bottles that were great for taking to the beach. The room in the 2nd building was large and comfortable. Our biggest complaint was that their restaurant - Nantucket Prime - has outdoor seating right in front of the hotel. It was a bit noisy on a Saturday night until about midnight.

This is a lovely historic hotel, the staff is friendly and the location is excellent. However, because the building is old there are a few comfort issues that are worth knowing before you book. First, the bathrooms are very very very small. There is no counter space and the showers are uncomfortably tiny. I would recommend that a bit of shelf space at least be put in so there is room for a couple of items. The decor is very sweet in the room but there was a window air conditioner that was working very hard to cool down the room and was so loud that it kept me up all night. Obviously this is not an issue outside of July and Aug. My husband slept right through it so it is really a matter of sensitivity to noise. I would recommend the JC House if you are looking for an excellent location and the above mentioned issues do not bother you.

Bit noisy , walls paper thin Great service and location
