this hotel is situated well within the down town and very close to the city wall which is walkable from the hotel. It serves some good food and the rooms are very spacious and well maintained. The market places are also close by from here
The hotel's location is excellent. Close to the Lake (Xuan Wu Hu), Nanjing Train Station (2 stops by subway), downtown, etc. The views from room, lobby and lounge are breathtaking. This property is new and modern. All the staff are friendly and helpfully. Truly enjoyed our stay. The main complaint is that it is not very family/kids friendly. They only have two double bed room. Two queen beds would have been nice for a family with young children. And its swim pool is 1 meter (3 feet) deep on the shallow end. Dangerous for young child under 5/6 years old. No way toddler can play safely by themselves. The room is in good size but the bathroom space is poorly utilized. A useless large tub occupied a lot of space and make the bathroom very small. Floor is very slippery. And there is no any night light in the room. Also no fridge and microwave for guest use. All in all, a very good hotel with poorly designed room. With young kids, I would skip this one next time.
This hotel has very great location, only 10 minutes to the lake on foot and 3 minutes to the subway station. Room was clean, bed is confortable, staff were very friendly, reception boy show me the way to the lake, introduce the famous restaurant in the shopping mall to me. Food tasted very good, worth to recommend.
Stayed for 2 nights and find that the hotel have great guests service, both Front Desk and Club Floor. Location is great as it is a 1 mins walk to the subway station. Which is very convenient as most of the time if you take a taxi you will be stuck in the traffic congestion just outside the hotel. Furnishings in room is old but clean and have a great view of the lake and old Ming Wall surrounding it. Breakfast at the Executive Floor Lounge is not very good with very limited choices of food. Tried to have breakfast at the coffee house but it was so crowded that we gave up. Also there is some kind of works being done to the floor at the coffee house which also makes it not very pleasant to dine in. Overall a good hotel to stay in if you are not too fussy about the deco and breakfast.
I've stayed at the Westin Nanjing a number of times for business and always appreciate the outstanding rooms, terrific lake view, comfortable bed, friendly staff, fast internet, and easy access to excellent restaurants in the adjacent mall (Hot Pot on 8th floor is a favorite). But, this time after another excellent stay, about an hour after checking out I received an email from the General Manager that Housekeeping had found my laptop in my room. Potentially devastating. I had not realized it and may not have for a few hours. They gave me contact information in the email and we were quickly able to arrange a pick-up. I truly appreciate not only the obvious honesty, but also the timely notification, and the ease to arrange pick-up. Thanks to all, and this reinforces all my positive impression of the Nanjing Westin.
The westin has a great location. Clear view of the Xuanwu Lake and walking distance to local foods. Staff were helpful, friendly, engaging and this created a welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone plan their trips to Nanjing.
Softest bed ever, the Hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel is in a good position with the Lake in walking distance and many floors of top end shops in the Hotel itself. Highly recommend the buffet, freshly cooked omelette for breakfast was delicious as were the freshly cooked kebabs at dinner time.
The service at this hotel isn't necessarily bad, but definitely does not warrant 4-stars. Training for their workers certainly need to be improved. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times for business over the past 2 years and have seen the gradual worsening of guest service here. To give a few examples of my recent experience; 1) When I could not connect to the room WiFi, and had requested for an Ethernet cable, I was told I needed to pay a RMB100 cash deposit. I would have expected this at a budget hotel but not from Westin. 2) When having breakfast at the restaurant lounge, I was not shown to an empty table after reporting my room number, and was free to look for an empty table on my own. Again...not something I would expect from Westin. 3) When I tried to get cereal, there were no spoons in sight around the cereal bar. And when I suggested having spoons to be placed there, to one of the waiters, he simply nodded his head. When I went down for breakfast again the next day, the situation still had not improved.
Spent one night there with a Chinese colleague in a deluxe King bed room. Fortunately the room was cool on arrival and there was no problem with the air-conditioning-no hassles with check-in and staff could speak reasonable English which was a bonus even though we had our colleague with us. The only issue, which was quickly fixed, was the card reader on our room did not work and required engineering to come up and fix it. We were out with business associates for dinner and had a couple of drinks in their bar afterwards at the hotel. The only comment was that the beer could have been a lot colder but this is an overall issue in China anyway check out the next morning was seamless.19.wa
First time to nanjing and I stayed here. I was not disappointed. It was a pretty impressive experience and I was quite impressed. The room was big, clean and well equipped. I wish i had the chance to stay longer, and I look forward to staying there again !
