As expected with budget hotel, the rooms are small, and space is a premium and this is no different. It does offer some fascinating view out over the housing estates and the pidgeon keepers lofts on the roofs.
Good points about this hotel: 1. It was quite a central location and very close to the metro. 2. The room was clean and nicely decorated. 3. The air conditioning/heating system worked very well. 4. The internet was pretty fast. Bad points about this hotel: 1. The room and bathroom felt quite cramped (however, the photos I saw in advance showed this to be the case so I wasn't surprised). 2. The walls were very thin - we could hear every door opening and closing and felt the vibrations of it in the room. We could also hear a lot of noise from the street outside. 3. The hotel has about 500 rooms and only 2 small elevators, which is not enough when there are a lot of guests. 4.Corridors and other public spaces were a little dirty. Overall, it was a fine budget experience except for the thin walls.
Honestly I stayed here 7 days and it was one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. Not only was the lobby being renovated the smells that emanated from said renovation were toxic. The internet was barley useable as well. Just look at the pictures. When I checked out the had the audacity to want to charge me fir the sheets as my girlfriend started her period in the night and bled on the sheets. I said you should give me money for having my health affected by all the toxic fumes then. And walked out of this hotel. Avoid this place. Had I known of the renovation prior to going I would have not booked this hotel.
One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Be careful with their website, the map to the hotel is either wrong or upside down. The station is not 5 minute walk, either that or its the wrong station name provided or there are 2 stations with the same name. Tried to call them for directions, and they pick up the phone and don't answer. Also, the website doesn't tell you that the hotel is under construction. Obviously I annoyed the reception staff when i checked in, because even though the hotel was not full, they but me 1 floor above the one being renovated, room directly above. I had been working all weekend and just wanted a relaxing Sunday. But at 6am, BANG BANG BANG, furious! When I asked the reception why they put me just right above the noise, she went into the office, started talking, and the staff started laughing. Noise continued all day until around 1am next morning. Couldn't get in the lift some nights because it was full of building materials, yes, the customer lift was being used for building materials... Unbelievable!! Can I have a map of the city for tourism... Manager said "no map, sold out" like I was interrupting his Candy Crush game... SOLD OUT??? Normal hotels give photocopy maps for free. In the elevator with housekeeping staff, arrive at 1st floor, doors open, staff push past with their shoulders to get out first. Disgusting behaviour from all the staff. So I checked in at 8pm, got woken up at 6am by builders, filled out my laundry and gave it to them before 7am, express 4 hour service please. Got my laundry back at 8pm, 13 hours later, and they even tried to charge me double price for express. Condition of the hotel is also deteriorating, bit with the attitude of the staff I can understand why. Garbage left in the corridors. I can only guess that Accor don't send any mystery shoppers here, because the level of service is low, and the level of bad attitude is high. No "please", no "thank you", no "welcome", no "have a nice stay", no "how can I help". I felt a little sorry for young guy with glasses on the day shift, he tried his best, and served with a smile, but that is the only positive thing I can say about this dump. Best thing about this place was leaving, which would have been sooner if I hadn't already pre paid. I read other people's reviews about their booking being given away if they didnt pre pay!
I spent 3 days in June and whilst I did not have any complaints about the hotel I discovered when I left I was charged twice. I paid on arrival in Y and unknown to me the hotel charged my credit card at $6 above Expedia quoted fees. After I arrived in Melbourne I wrote them a letter explaining what happened as well as sending copies of my credit card statement. After waiting for 6 weeks with out a response I wrote to Expedia requesting assistance. Expedia spend a further month trying to resolve this issue. The IBIS stated that I did pay in Y but they did not charge my credit card. I sent Expedia a copy of my credit card charges who in turn contacted the IBIS to request that my credit card be reimbursed and who did not respond for a further 2 weeks. Expedia have now asked for the receipt for Y paid however, the 200Y deposit was added to the receipt and the hotel refused to refund deposit until I gave them back the receipt. I have been pursuing this for almost 3 months and still no closer to resolving this issue If you are considering booking this hotel please beware of double charging
Firstly, as many have pointed out -the google map location in trip advisor is wrong. the hotel is situated closer to subway station Zhangfuyuan than Sanshan Street. to get the accurate location, simply google it. transportation from the airport to the hotel via metro cost 7 yuan and takes approximately 1hr 45min. exit from exit 3, cross 2 traffic junctions and you can see the hotel building (hotel name is in Chinese but you can recognize the Ibis logo). Good: within 5 min to subway, 15min to attractions (Confucius temple, Taiping Kingdom History Museum), 7 min to shopping center (aqua city) The room is surprisingly clean with minimum dust. Bad: I won't recommend the hotel breakfast (29 yuan) if you do not like to eat Chinese food or staying for more than 2 nights. selections are limited and the main dishes remain identical every day. go to the nearest McDonald(subway station) or the western bakery beside the hotel instead. traffic from the road is still audible even if you stay at the highest storey(12th) facing the main road.
Spent 3 nights at the IBIS from the airport I took the airport bus. Staff at the airport wrote the destination that I should disembark in Chinese and from that point it was a 5 minute taxi ride. It is also easy to get to from Nanjing and Nanjing South station get of at Zhangfuyuan station exit 2 It will take 15 minutes from Nanjing station and 30 minutes from Nanjing South all stations are on line 1 To get to Zhangfuyuan station from the IBIS turn right as you come out of the hotel until you get to the first set of major traffic lights cross the road and turn left into Baixia Road it's about a 3 minute walk from there. Reception staff were friendly and tried to assist with all queries in limited English. Hotel was clean and centrally located, about a 10 minute walk to Confuscious temple area, 5 minute walk to Aqua City shopping centre and 15 minutes to Zhanyuan garden Mattresses were firm still managed to sleep though. Hotel also provides computers for guests to use. Loved Nanjing when I return I will stay at the IBIS again
Good location with two metro stations in the arounds. Clean and have a nice staff. No fridge in the room but this is normal in China. Near Aqua mall and Confucius temple street. For muslims two masjids are near the hotel especially the one you turn right when reach the mall. A muslim restaurant is just beside the mosque.
This is a typical Ibis hotel with regards to room layout and facilities and is well situated for shops and sightseeing. it is near to a metro stop however make sure that you leave at the correct exit, as to my cost, I didn't and ended up walking around Nanjing in a different direction, so leave at exit 3! Free wi-fi in the room with complimentary toiletries and water, but I was a little disappointed in the breakfast, for which you have to pay. There is a great bakery next door which offers a good range of breads and pastries though. Huge shopping centre/mall within a 5 minute walk and the Confucious Temple is 10 minutes away and must be seen. Would stay there again if I was in the area as it is well situated and a good price.
We stayed in a twin room. Positives +: The staff are happy and polite with decent English +: The cleaning staff were fantastic, replenishing everything every day and being nice to people +: The wifi was strong in our room +: The are was fantastic +: Nice corner shop next door +: Short walk from Aqua City and Confucious Temple +: On the Subway line directly between the North & South Railway lines +: Lots of local food outlets +: Great cake bakery next door +: Good price Negatives. -: Due to local driver idiocy and over reliance on the horns of their cars it is quite loud at all hours -: Breakfast was expensive Advice ● Download Waygo app, it translates Chinese symbols then use it on some of the local eateries ● Go to the Aqua City in the evening ● Give breakfast a miss, pastries next door are cheaper and just as filling ● Make the most pf the subqay line
