Great place to stay for the most part. Walking distance to the waterfront downtown area. Breakfast is included with your stay...that could be a bit better but its not terrible parking is free as well and a variety of rooms to suit anyone's needs
We arrived late on the ferry into Nanaimo and were so happy to arrive and find a clean, bright, comfortable hotel that we could just relax into as soon as we walked through the door! I havent stayed in a lot of Ramada hotels but this one is impeccable. The room was huge with enormous beds that were so comfortable I had to look at the brand of mattress!!! The receptionist was so friendly and welcoming and gave a great restaurant recommendation (Simonholt) which wasn’t too far a drive away and was delicious! The breakfast was a great spread with ample hot coffee, oatmeal, fruit, waffles, eggs, sausage and cereals. There were a lot of parking spots at the hotel and it’s location isn’t too far from downtown (we walked down to the waterfront in about 15 minutes). After this stay, I will be adding Ramada to the roster of hotels I keep in mind when traveling as it was extremely nice for the price.
Great rooms for the price. We stayed here for two nights and very much enjoyed our room. Clean and comfortable beds, a-lot of space and just what we needed. The breakfast is free and the food is decent so cant complain about that. No restaurant but alot of options nearby. Would stay here again if we come back.
I stay at this motel many times for business and I can very confidently say that this motel is one of the best options in Nanaimo. The service is always excellent! Jackie is amazing and makes me feel at home each time I arrive. The cleanliness of the motel is decent and meets all standards of a Ramada property. The continental breakfast is a good value as well. Great option for a night stay while on Vancouver Island!
I stayed at this Ramada last month and paid $139.23 This visit when I reserved the room rate was $120.99 Was very surprised when my VISA BILL showed $166.93plus $19.22 from reservations. com I queried at the hotel desk . The staff were very helpful but could do nothing as I booked on line. They have had many many complaints from others who were scammed also. Unknown to me , the price was in US dollars, you really have to search the website to find it. The staff gave me a number to call, I had to phone 3 different numbers while they passed the buck. The buck ended at reservations.com , very self righteous. Nothing they would do So i have been totally scammed and got the crummiest room ever in this hotel for an extra $50 SO BUYER BEWARE I am very disappointed with EXPEDIA . I have used them before but never again. Very disappointed with RAMADA too, I do not expect this complaint to be posted. No matter , it is on FACEBOOK.
We stayed here for a hockey trip. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and even though our room was next to the Main Street it was quiet. Breakfast the next morning was ample and the staff were all very friendly. I would stay here again.
We have been staying at this hotel whenever we visit Nanaimo for the past seven years and have been impressed with the friendly staff and clean rooms on each visit.
The Ramada Nanaimo is a centrally located hotel, with an excellent front seat staff, who are helpful and friendly. Check in and out were a breeze. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are clean and large. The only complaints or recommendations I may have is we had a large room with a jacuzzi tub, the TV was a little small for the size of the room, and a TV channel guide, that lets you know what channels work and which ones are not provided. There is a “channel guide” on the TV, however, when a channel was selected the channel was not subscribed too.... this was a bit of an irritation, nothing major. We would definitely stay there again!
I stay at over 100 hotel rooms a year ,this hotel from check in to check out has met or exceeded my expectations every time l stay there.so I try to stay their as much as possible. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who is traveling to Nanaimo.
Based on the reviews, we booked here during our brief 2 days stay in Nanaimo. Upon the entry, the staff is friendly and welcoming! We stayed in 4th floor in room 403 - it's the top floor and above the front entrance. The room is spacious and had the balcony too. The room is clean all throughout except one thing. We found disgusting green mildew around the white handle in the bathtub. That's our only complaint about the room. Despite that, we will come back only because it's a good location (close to the Departure Bay ferry) and it's right on the main road; staff was friendly and the room is spacious. We tried the free breakfast and they do offer a variety of both cold and hot food - nothing special though. We are both Deaf, so we cannot comment on the noise levels and of course, that doesn't matter to us... :)
