Ramada Nanaimo

Large, clean and well maintained hotel and rooms. Plenty of parking and centrally located. A couple of restaurants within walking distance, but probably need a car to eat and explore.

I've stayed here numerous times and never had an issue. The rooms are huge and well equipped and very clean. Beds are comfortable and the staff are attentive. Fast check in and out and never had an issue. They could improve the entrance - the front entrance is weird and if they could make it a proper turn around it would be great. It's annoying to pull up to the front only to discover that there are cars blocking the turn around and you have to back up 75' to the rest of the parking lot. The breakfast is solid and delicious - enough options to choose from! A second waffle maker would speed things up a bit and some variety with the hot options would be amazing! My only complaint - rooms with a balcony have blinds on the balcony door and they do not keep out enough light. If I had been staying for more than one night I would have switched to a room without a balcony! They should have blackout drapes that cover the balcony door.

On a recent trip to Vancouver and Vancouver Island, my sister and I wondered if the designers of the Ramada Nanaimo Inn had taken extra special care to listen to and attend to the needs expressed by guests. This lovely, clean hotel offered amenities we would like to recommend to other mid range hotels. Check in was efficient and the clerk was friendly and welcoming. The spacious room included a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is no need to rinse dishes in the bathroom sink as this hotel includes a small kitchen sink next to the microwave and fridge The internet connection was reliable and a password was not required. The narrow wall mounted adjustable reading lights were very much appreciated as one can read and not disturb others in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is on a quiet residential street. It is also easier to respect other guests in a hotel when remote controls include readily accessible close captioned buttons. Again, the Ramada Nanaimo Inn provided this. My sister was pleased to see a good supply of towels and face cloths and families will appreciate the double toilet paper roll. This property includes a fitness center and pool and breakfast is provided. On the morning we were at the hotel, the breakfast area seemed to be a little disorganized and the Van Houten coffee would not be our first choice but, these concerns are small considering how very well appointed this hotel is. For a reasonable price, this hotel has a great deal to offer guests looking for a comfortable stay near the ferry terminal and harbour.

Other then are ac not working the hotel is great. We booked i think 12 rooms for are baseball tournament and the staff was great and the rooms and hotel very clean.

We stopped for a night after taking the ferry from Horseshoe Bay. We had the king room which was very roomy. We looked out over the main road but I was not disturbed by traffic despite being a light sleeper. The breakfast room is bright with the usual continental offerings and is kept clean by the attendant. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel as an affordable alternative to staying in the Nanaimo harbor area.

The property looks nice and clean. The location is conveniently close to the ferry terminal. Room is clean, a bit noisy due to being close to the street. Breakfast is adaquate.

I decided to give this hotel another chance to win me over and it failed. It started with the front desk agent, who at best I can say smiled twice but seemed to pay more attention to his phone. Not very helpful. I stayed in the King room with jacuzzi tub (which as I mentioned was the best part after I cleaned it.) So...on to the disappointments: the bathroom amenities had one Kleenex in the box - I called asking for a new box...didn't get one. I realized I didn't have change for the drink machine but I thought "Hey, they have a little store in the lobby" the pictures below is the "store" consisting of NO DRINKS, just an empty shelving unit, a few toiletries for sale and a snack machine. So when I asked for change they didn't have any, when I asked for an ATM I was told "it's down the road." Very helpful staff :) I didn't take advantage of the free hot breakfast with the near empty heating containers because I lost confidence in the staff already from the start :( So, if you're looking for a place just to pass out and not care about getting what you paid for...then this place is for you!

Relaxing, safe, comfortable. Arrival is well organized, I always noted how courteous (jackie) welcoming us and accommodating all our needs. I enjoy the breakfast, staff in there alway a kind word to share "good to see us😊" The rooms, are so clean and refreshing, no matter if winter, warm entry, summer, nice and cool. Thank you

Clean and comfortable with fridge and microwave. Friendly easy check in. They wanted us to take our bikes to the room, which was great with us. Breakfast was good start to day. Greek restaurant 2 doors down was yummy

We were completely pleased with our stay at the Ramada Nanaimo. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome right away. The room itself was immaculate, very spacious, with a balcony and facing the rear of the property so very quiet. We enjoyed our sleep in the very comfortable queen size bed and found the included breakfast the next morning to be adequate, not outstanding, but certainly decent. All in all a very nice stay and we'd certainly check into the Ramada again the next time we overnight in Nanaimo.
