I stay at over 100 hotel rooms a year ,this hotel from check in to check out has met or exceeded my expectations every time l stay there.so I try to stay their as much as possible. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who is traveling to Nanaimo.
Based on the reviews, we booked here during our brief 2 days stay in Nanaimo. Upon the entry, the staff is friendly and welcoming! We stayed in 4th floor in room 403 - it's the top floor and above the front entrance. The room is spacious and had the balcony too. The room is clean all throughout except one thing. We found disgusting green mildew around the white handle in the bathtub. That's our only complaint about the room. Despite that, we will come back only because it's a good location (close to the Departure Bay ferry) and it's right on the main road; staff was friendly and the room is spacious. We tried the free breakfast and they do offer a variety of both cold and hot food - nothing special though. We are both Deaf, so we cannot comment on the noise levels and of course, that doesn't matter to us... :)
We have stayed close to four hundred nights since this Ramada opened. There have been changes, the one I like the most has been the upgraded linens. The staff, from manager Jason, front desk to housekeeping have always been eager to please. No disappointments here. Ramada Nanaimo is our go to hotel.
Never had an issue staying at this hotel. Very accommodating even for last minute reservations. Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is pretty good. No complaints
Stay was a good one. Quiet, clean; huge room with a bit of a kitchen area. One thing where much improvement could be made was the free breakfast which had a bit to be desired. No fruit, no whole wheat bread. eggs and yogurt were good.
Great clean rooms. Lobby very presentable, rooms clean, bathrooms clean. Beds are comfortable with very good blankets. Lots of space in standard room. Would stay here again. Good proximity to lots of restaurants...5min drive...etc...
Large, clean and well maintained hotel and rooms. Plenty of parking and centrally located. A couple of restaurants within walking distance, but probably need a car to eat and explore.
I've stayed here numerous times and never had an issue. The rooms are huge and well equipped and very clean. Beds are comfortable and the staff are attentive. Fast check in and out and never had an issue. They could improve the entrance - the front entrance is weird and if they could make it a proper turn around it would be great. It's annoying to pull up to the front only to discover that there are cars blocking the turn around and you have to back up 75' to the rest of the parking lot. The breakfast is solid and delicious - enough options to choose from! A second waffle maker would speed things up a bit and some variety with the hot options would be amazing! My only complaint - rooms with a balcony have blinds on the balcony door and they do not keep out enough light. If I had been staying for more than one night I would have switched to a room without a balcony! They should have blackout drapes that cover the balcony door.
On a recent trip to Vancouver and Vancouver Island, my sister and I wondered if the designers of the Ramada Nanaimo Inn had taken extra special care to listen to and attend to the needs expressed by guests. This lovely, clean hotel offered amenities we would like to recommend to other mid range hotels. Check in was efficient and the clerk was friendly and welcoming. The spacious room included a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There is no need to rinse dishes in the bathroom sink as this hotel includes a small kitchen sink next to the microwave and fridge The internet connection was reliable and a password was not required. The narrow wall mounted adjustable reading lights were very much appreciated as one can read and not disturb others in the room. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is on a quiet residential street. It is also easier to respect other guests in a hotel when remote controls include readily accessible close captioned buttons. Again, the Ramada Nanaimo Inn provided this. My sister was pleased to see a good supply of towels and face cloths and families will appreciate the double toilet paper roll. This property includes a fitness center and pool and breakfast is provided. On the morning we were at the hotel, the breakfast area seemed to be a little disorganized and the Van Houten coffee would not be our first choice but, these concerns are small considering how very well appointed this hotel is. For a reasonable price, this hotel has a great deal to offer guests looking for a comfortable stay near the ferry terminal and harbour.
Other then are ac not working the hotel is great. We booked i think 12 rooms for are baseball tournament and the staff was great and the rooms and hotel very clean.
