Rooms clean and comfortable, good amenities (fridge, microwave, sink, coffee/tea maker), internet. Coffee and tea are of poor quality both in the room and at breakfast. Heater/air conditioner in room is quite loud and disrupted sleep quality a bit. Good service and decent location.
Rooms were large with comfortable beds. Continental breakfast included. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
We booked this room with our air miles and had no problem with giving our credit card at check in since there was none on file. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a wonderful stay until we dropped off our room card to check out and were told we had to wait until some checked our room to make there is no damage before they could take the 75.00 hold off our credit card. I understand this is a standard procedure but have never been told to wait and found this comment to be very insulting and embarrassing! We were told to wait until this was done before she would give a receipt with 0 balance. The lady then excused herself saying she was new so she called the manager who then said someone was still checking our room to make sure we didn't smoke in it or damage it. We are a non smoking couple in our 60s, traveled quite a distance from the mainland, checked in early evening, dropped our bag off then went out for dinner, we were back in the room and in bed by 10:00. No booze, no visitors, no parties and no noise! We have stayed in more hotels than I care to remember, we were both shocked by these comments and found this to be very unprofessional and embarrassing!
Didn't have breakfast as we had to catch the 6:30am ferry. Check in was fast and friendly. Rooms were large and quiet with comfortable beds and white bedding. Shower was good. Location was about 5 to 10min from Departure Bay ferry terminal. Only issue was they ran out of complimentary toothbrushes and we were forced to buy one from the reception. They shouldn't advertise complimentary toothbrush if they were going to run out and force the guest to purchase instead.
Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent location. The manager, Jason Chi, gave us fabulous, late checkout that allowed us to rest up before the gold medal game! That's what I call hospitality! Saanich Braves will return!
The photos on the site are very accurate. Pros: -very friendly staff. -comfy beds and nice decor in rooms. -good breakfast (a surprise after so many negative reviews about it). -clean rooms. Cons: -none that I can think of. The lady on the desk even went so far as to deliver us a pot of tea to our room! Now that's service!
Check in was quick and friendly! Hotel very clean. The room was large with a nice deep bathtub.For the continental breakfast, stick with cereal, toast or bagels. The omelet was dry and not good. Walking distance to White Spot, a popular Greek restaurant, and a Mexican restaurant.
Arrived in the early hours of the morning after plane disruptions due to bad weather. Welcomed by the friendly front desk receptionist and were quickly tucking ourselves into a comfortable bed in a warm, spotlessly clean room. All of the basics you'd expect were there. The young woman in charge at the buffet was helpful, efficient and professional as was the receptionist who checked us out. As we'd only had snacks to eat the previous day, we were eagerly anticipating the breakfast! What a disappointment! Very limited choices and almost nothing to appeal to anyone looking for healthy options. (The fresh oranges, admittedly, were delicious!) But, overall, the food made me wonder why they don't reduce the cost of the room and forget about providing breakfast! I do appreciate the offering of 'breakfast', but if it's worth doing I'd love them to consider re-vamping it! Suggestions to the hotel: include some real yogurt as well as the versions with long lists of sugars and other unnecessary ingredients? How about bananas, pineapple, melon etc. as well as the very acceptable apples and oranges? Provide lids for the coffee if customers ask for them. Why not extend the range of breads and breakfast pastries? Make sure the water is really hot for tea lovers. And, (note from my husband) as this is Canada, not the US, how about marmalade?
Rooms were very comfortable. Lots of space, modern and clean. The staff was excellent . The breakfast was good although the Orange Juice, Apple Juice and coffee were noticeably watered down. I brought a group ((5 rooms) and was told my Wyndam Rewards would be applied at a later date. Upon checking my Wyndam reward account, a notice appeared saying, my stay did not qualify for rewards because we received our rooms at a discounted rate! IHG does not follow this practice. I was encouaged to sign up for Wyndam rewards years ago because I booked 4-5 rooms. I feel I have been duped! In the future, if an IHG hotel was nearby, I would stay there.
I really like this hotel's location, room conditions, free breakfast and pricing. However, I absolutely LOVE the staff. Despite having to make several short notice changes of schedule (extending or shortening stays) I truly feel like my needs are being tended to like I'm a part of their family. I love it. I love them. Truly a home away from home. Bravo!
