Close to the airport . Easy access to major highway

Loved -- extraordinary artwork, friendly helpful staff who are guarded at first but respond to warmth and respect, pleasing atmosphere, good food from a variety of cuisines. Disappointed -- the picture of the hotel is completely misleading. The area has been developed, including a six-lane highway right behind the hotel, and other hotels and high-rise condominiums are going up now both behind and right next to Ole Sereni. We lost electricity one night due to construction. And the air conditioning is unreliable. My biggest disappointment -- the "watering hole" visible from the Nairobi National Park side of the hotel (which you'll want to pay extra for unless you want highway noise) only has water in the rainy season. The hotel used to supply water year-around but lost that arrangement somehow. We saw 9 animals in 5 days. I wouldn't have minded so much if the pictures created an accurate expectation. Also, plan lots and lots of time if you order off the menu. The restaurant is understaffed and disorganized.
