We had a great stay. The house is beautiful well located and exactly as described. The host was fantastic very responsive and professional. When we experienced a small issue with the hot water tank, she responded within minutes and had maintenance on site almost immediately. The problem was fixed quickly and without any disruption to our stay. I would definitely book this property again.

Beautiful views out of practically every room and plenty spacious. We enjoyed the large kitchen that opened to the living area - made it so easy to cook and enjoy our time. The balconies overlooking the ocean were perfect and the outdoor furniture was great. The only thing I’d say is one of the skylights was gone so it was covered with a tarp (and we had a hard rain) and one of the bathrooms the ceiling was cut out so you could see into the ceiling with the piping. We opted to not use that room. We would stay here again.

The rooms were clean, the house had a big spacious living room with a great view, quiet neighborhood, easy access to the beach and didn’t feel crowded as neighboring houses were not built immediately next to this property.

We stayed the last week of July 2025. There were 16 of us & we had plenty of space. The kitchen & living room are beautiful & the heart of the house. One issue was 1 of the large burners on the stove didn’t work & the oven would not heat up over 325 degrees. I am sure they will replace it but it did make cooking for 16 people a bit challenging. We had to change what we prepared. The house is right on the beach but note that the sand gets super hot in the afternoon. Also, if you are not used to climbing a lot of stairs it can be difficult for you. The cleaning people could do a better job for what it costs to clean. Overall a great trip. I like rent this house again.

The house was beautiful and right on the beach. There was plenty of room for everyone. Plenty of parking available. Wonderful views from every window in the main living area. Lots of balcony space and chairs. We all had enough space and the beach itself was never crowded. We would definitely stay here again.

We had our 2025 family vacation here and the House was Beautifully decorated and supplied with all kitchen appliances and cookware, dishes. Panoramic views and the Octagon shape of the main living area with the sky lights was Amazing.

Great place just a few tips.

Beautiful house fit my family of 9 perfect. Very clean all rooms had view of ocean, beds very comfy kitchen had everything we needed. However on day two AC went out and hostess was very quick to respond but we got two window AC but really didn't help at all considering the size of house stayed 75 to 80 in the living and kitchen area I reported it on day one and AC guy was supposed to fix it stayed 6 days and still had not been fixed, the gas grill was very dirty with food, and might want to check the deck banisters. We had a great time but for the price that I paid I just wanted to mention this especially the AC.

Six Days at the Pompous Pelican

Great location in Nags Head, not far from the Outlets. The Pompous Pelican is a wonderful house. Everything was clean and ready for us. Plenty of space for me, the misses and our pup. Spectacular, unblocked view of the ocean from the top floor… even better from the deck! Note: the photos show a walkway directly to the beach. This is now filled in by a 6’ high sand dune. We were able to climb over it to get to the beach but used the public beach access to return home. Overall, 5 stars.

Magical Beachfront

This was an awesome experience. Waking up and going to sleep to the sounds of the ocean was soothing and breathtaking. The location to access to the beach was also a beautiful experience. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the middle floor bedrooms had private access to the balcony overlooking the beach. The manager of the property was wonderful and made sure our stay was awesome. I would recommend this property a thousand times over. Our party of 12 adults were comfortable and we felt at home.

Awesome Beach House

Wonderful house; easiest beach access ever; can easily see your family at the beach from the house; super well stocked kitchen with new pots and pans and knives that actually cut; spacious bedrooms with plenty of clothes storage; large hot tub and an elevator to help haul supplies and suitcases in and out. The owners responded really promptly to any inquiries before and during our stay. If your family has volume control issues with adults playing cards at night and little ones who are noisy at the crack of dawn ... you will want white noise machines for the upper bedrooms (but that's true at most beach houses too). A really great vacation home!!!

Lovely and spacious

We visited during Memorial Day week and the weather was dreary, but the home is in a great location with beautiful views and we had a relaxing time. Hot tub was a nice amenity for rainy days. Large open central space on third floor, and surrounding decks on two stories were wonderful. Ground floor with hot tub also has enough space under cover for cooking on grill and serving family meals. One AC unit needed to be serviced, but the property manager was responsive and working on it. We would return!

Wonderful place to stay

The location and cleanliness were perfect. Communication from the property manager was quick and efficient. We loved staying here and would do so again. The elevator was a game changer for us, my mother is handicapped and it was incredibly helpful to have and use!

Wonderful Family Reunion at the Pompous Pelican

We absolutely loved our stay at the Pompous Pelican and would definitely stay again!! The location is amazing and the property owner/manager was easy to work with. The unique layout--each bedroom having its own private bathroom-- perfectly accommodated our family of four sets of adult couples. The upstairs layout is spacious and open with a very comfortable living area, large dining area, and a beautiful, well-stocked kitchen. It was the ideal spot for spending time together. The ocean views were stunning and we enjoyed our long walks on the beach. The mattresses were on the softer side for us but we are self-admittedly particular about our mattress firmness. The front door was a bit weather-worn and hard to open but that may be due to humidity. Our only recommendation would be to clearly warn people not to park their vehicles under the home. We almost pulled one of the cars into the left bay to make room on the driveway for the other couples' vehicles. Thankfully we didn't as there was a one foot drop-off and could have seriously damaged our car. It looks like some repair work was being done in that area which we did not notice upon our arrival. Had it been nighttime, we easily would have missed it. Overall, we are thrilled with our choice and highly recommend staying at this truly special beach home!
