The staff (owner?) was friendly and spoke to us in English. They had a place ready for our luggage before check in so we could go to the Snow Monkey Park first. We enjoyed our traditional stay. The hot spring is very hot! I only stayed in for two minutes.
Two-person room. Also had entry/small dining space and fridge and attached private toilet room, and an enclosed balcony kind of space with a sink, mirror and drying rack.

The hosts were extremely polite and welcoming. They explained all the house rules in detail and kindly recommended great places to eat nearby. The place was spotless, warm, and very comfortable for an overnight stay with my husband and our two kids. We would definitely come back. We would have loved to stay longer, but we had to return to Tokyo right away to catch our flight.
