We stayed a few days. The rooms are a nice size , clean and in good condition . The hotel is walking distance from the Nagano station so very convenient location. They have an Onsen with sauna on the rooftop my husband loved it and used it every day . I recommend to order the breakfast included (we didn’t) it’s a buffet with Japanese and western choices. We had to add for 1500yen for person a bit expensive but it’s worth while since you get value for your money. The staff is friendly and professional. A good place to stay.
Accomodation in Japan during cherry blossom season can be extortionate. Dormy Inn offered rooms at a reasonable price so I thought I would give it a try, and I’m so glad I did! The twin room was spacious enough for two people with comfortable beds and a small bathroom with toiletries provided. There is an onsen on the roof of the building which is beautiful - mainly the outside bath where you can sit in the onsen and look up at the stars. Washing machines are also available for free use on the top floor with coin-paid dryers to dry your clothes afterwards. The restaurant also serves free ramen to guests between 9.30-11pm every night on the ground floor restaurant.
The hotel is quite close to train station, just a few minutes’ walk. You can have 24-hours convenience store, department stores, restaurants, all within a few minutes. The room is very clean, size is reasonable, especially from standard in Japan. Facilities are good, free drinks at lobby area, locked laundry (need to get key from lobby, washing is free and you just need to pay for drying), Onsen at the top floor is awesome! I also like the noodles remain at night, don’t expect portion is big, but as snack is excellent. Staffs are very friendly and helpful with excellent customer service. We feel happy with the three nights there, we got more than we spent. Will continue to stay in this chain hotels next time when travel Japan.
We opted stayed in a twin bed room which offers us a much better space, a great choice as we wanted more space for our luggage and 🛍. The room was cleaned and the staff were friendly and spoke good English. What's also important is the property is just a 5mins walk from Nagano Station (towards Zenkoji Temple). A big draw for us is onsen in the hotel. Hence the small bath room in the room was barely used. We were also surprise to find free washing machine and paid dryer in the hotel. This is handy if you intend to use Nagano as the base to travel to other parts in the area. The hotel also offer free soya sauce ramen for supper (2130-2300hrs). We love it as the portion was just nice to warm up the body before a good nice sleep. Overall, we love this property and will definitely be back for our future trip to Nagano.
This hotel is almost directly across from the train station. Rooms are small, but very clean and functional. Only a shower in my room, but there is a wonderful hot spring on the rooftop--both indoor and outdoor. Breakfast is ok, although not a lot of selection for Western tastes Check-in not allowed before 3.
Love onsen and the room! They designed the room that you will not feel it is small if you know its real size. Clean and good! Breakfast is a bit expensive as it is not quite variety but they brought many local food item for you to experience.
This is a reasonably new hotel which was immaculately clean and very close to Nagano Station. Several restaurants and cafes in the area and within walking distance of Zenko-ji Temple (about 30 minute walk). Didn’t have the noodles at night or the free coffee/tea. The breakfast was very nice – would stay here again if in Nagano. Good functional rooms with comfortable beds.
This Hotel delivers exactly what it says - small but neat and tidy rooms; helpful staff; amazingly convenient location in the heart of the action and a quick walk to the train station; rooftop onsen; fabulous massage chairs (which were a nice surprise); umbrellas for the rain; complimentary noodle soup at night. It is so convenient and great value. A great choice for a stay in Nagano. We also did a day trip to see the snow monkeys. We chose not to book a packaged tour and do it on our own, and I highly recommend that option. It is SO easy to go to the train station, buy your own ticket with pass to the snow monkey park. You hop on the bus at the station, and when they let you off everything is soo well marked that you can easily enjoy the trip on your own pace for far less money. Overall we loved our stay here.
This is a great hotel, it was definitely the highlight of our trip on the accommodation perspective. The onsen was really good and there are great detailed English instructions on the etiquette on the wall before you enter so don’t be afraid to try it out. It’s pretty small with two warm pools, one in and outdoors, and a cold pool and sauna. Male and female side are separate of course, apparently the female side is a mirror image of the other one. :) We stayed in the hotel in mid-June and both times in the morning and afternoon there were only two or three persons in addition to me at the same time in the onsen - at one point I had the whole facility to myself. I’m from Finland (we do a lot of real Sauna) and this is probably the first time ever I encountered an actually hot enough Sauna abroad. Breakfast is good - beats eating sandwiches and cold coffee from FamilyMart as we had to do for most of the trip - and the evening noodle soup supper is a very nice addition and gesture. Rooms themselves are regular Japanese small but very modern and have everything we needed (fridge, good bed, and a proper shower plus a pyjama to wear in the hotel premises if you like). Reception provided us with some extra pillows when we asked. Location is very close to train station and all the biggest streets with the restaurants. 10-15 minutes walk to the Zenko-ji temple. All in all, can recommend.
We loved this hotel, the room was big for Japanese standards. The best thing about it is the Onsen. You can even check how busy it is on your tv in your room. We spent a lot of time in there after our day trekking in the mountains through the snow to see the snow monkeys. I will definitely go back to this hotel when I am next in Nagano!
