This hotel is really close to the airport which is great after a long flight. Good thing also is that despite its proximity, aircraft noise is not a problem. The hotel experience was not great however. Whilst it has a great resort feel and fantastic grounds, it is tired and needs a serious facelift as described by various other reviewers. Firstly, not enough staff on the front desk to accommodate lots of people checking in Wifi needs a refresh every 24 hrs and a separate password per device and not practical. It is also slow. My room was really tired. Water pressure is weak (not intermittently, but every morning of my 5 night stay) Bath spout was damaged and bent TV is tiny with limited channel selection Lighting is inadequate Cupboard doors did not close properly Tiles are chipped The rooms do not supply complimentary water which should be standard. At night, the hall lighting was really dingy and so unlocking the door a little harder to find the slot. Not that safe either... The restaurant opens at 6.00 which is great, but if you want a barista made coffee, that does not start until 7.00. Some money has clearly been spent on the gym which is modern and adequate with a couple of bikes, running machines and free weights. The pool area looks really nice, but not really sure how clean it is. I have read numerous reviews and some repeating themes here and every time management responds with they are doing the best they can with what they have. Essentially Accor needs to spend money on the hotel to bring it back to what people now expect for comfortable accommodation. Of course, the staff are helpful and pleasant. Would recommend only for a short stay and do not expect much from this one.
Our flight to Fiji was brought forward by Fiji Airways and as a result, they accommodated us at The Novotel Nadi. The staff were extremely friendly, which is always the case when you visit beautiful Fiji. We arrived late evening after the restaurant had closed and ordered room service. The burger was cold, had way too much mayonnaise, and the wedges were too greasy and deep fried for my liking. Buffet breakfast is available at a cost of $34 fjd pp, or you can opt for their “pick 2” in which at reception you can nominate 2 people for breakfast for a total of $44 fjd. Given the close proximity to the airport and main road. I was pleasantly surprised I couldn’t hear any noise. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The rooms need a renovation, ours was in disrepair, with chipped tiles, bathroom grout missing and basin cracked. The outlook from the patio to the sleeping giant was pleasant, as was the eating area for dinner and breakfast was. Would liked to have seen complimentary water provided in the rooms which is what many other hotels in the area offer. Pool was small with a few deck chairs and sun umbrellas. The hammocks were nice to laze about. The toilets in the main foyer need upgrading as they have deteriorated. The doors don’t lock, the tiles tired and chipped and lacked basic maintenance such as toilet paper on the floor. Tours can be organised at this hotel, there is also a gift shop and convenience store. Wifi is available free to Accor members, if you’re not a member you can sign up at the hotel for free. This hotel is rated 4 star by Accor, I beg to differ given I’ve stayed at a number of other 4 star hotels in Fiji every year for the last 10 years. This hotel has so much potential.
This is my 2nd booking at Novotel Nadi. Once again they charge me an extra night on my Amex card! The first time i complained, they say they will check and get back, but never did. This time they did it again! Rooms are pretty old.
This is not a simple review, this is for documenting what happened to me today September 9. I came from the airport where I cashed out 400 FJD (Fijian dollars, around 180 euros). Accidentally, I lost the money at the entrance to the hotel. Arriving to my room and as I noted the problem, I informed to the reception. The personnel at the hotel had picked up the money and delivered it to the manager, who kindly gave it to me back. This is not usual in most of the hotels and speaks of honesty at this beautiful and good priced hotel. Thank you very much, not for the money but for showing honesty. I will come back here every visit to the country.
Very good and respectable reception on arrivals. very good rooms except we could not switch off the air condition. otherwise the stay was a pleasant one. The $1 breakfast in addition to our executive room was a great deal for us - 2 for the price of one.
Accommodation and hotel facilities are reasonably good. Room and linen was clean. Pool area is quite basic. This is not, and does not pretend to be, a 5 star resort. So for the money we paid, we were happy with what we got. Staff are friendly, courteous and professional and made us feel very welcome. The only complaint we have is that the lunch and dinner in the restaurant was of a very low standard. Everything looked and tasted like it came out of a mass produced freezer bag and the hotel is far away from any nice outside restaurants. Again, we have no complaints about the hotel. We needed 1 night near the airport and this hotel suited our needs and met our expectations. Thank you.
Stayed here for 1 night while transiting through Nadi - one night is definitely enough, there's certainly nothing about the hotel that encourages you to stay for longer. Check-in was relatively painless, but then trying to find my room was a bit a drama. There are no signs anywhere to direct you to the various blocks and the lighting around the outside of the rooms is minimal. There is no drinking water in the rooms at all, it has to be bought at the gift shop or via room service. A bit disappointing and annoying to finally find your room and discover there's nothing to drink... The restaurant was absolutely terrible - every meal ordered by our group was sub-standard, notably the dumplings, which were raw. Service was extremely slow as well. Overall, would not choose to stay here again, there are better options.
We stayed one night while in transit to Savu Savu. We got served the wrong meal (it was quickly fixed) and charged $25 a glass for a very meagre and mediocre wine.We were charged for the wrong breakfast. I confirmed our transfer to the airport on check in, after dinner, at breakfast and then when we waited and waited in reception. A shuttle did arrive and our bags were loaded. Luckily my husband checked and found that the shuttle was going to The Marina. Back to reception where eventually we were told " we'll show you to your room now". I made a bit of a fuss and a taxi was called and we made our flight. This hotel is tired and the staff seemed a bit slack. Not worth the money.
Had a brief stay. Rooms are very very out dated in every aspect, with below average maintenance. Ate in the restaurant which was the Sunday Night BBQ, price is ok but not overly exciting and not much of a salad selection. Service and staff are excellent. Unlikely to return unless major renovations take place.
Close to the airport. Room looked old with some mould in bathroom and air conditioning ineffective.we were located at the end of resort in what seemed the ok'd area and a long way from reception.will stay closer to town if visit again.
