Comfort Inn Surfside Beach

We stayed at this Comfort Inn for one night on a quick trip to Myrtle Beach. The location is good, just a short drive to lots of attractions, restaurants, and the beach. The staff was pleasant. The hotel needs updating. The bed was comfortable, linens above average, and room was very clean. It is just very dated. Overall, not a bad place to crash for a night, but I wouldn't recommend It for a vacation.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights here, while visiting with her sister and relatives. The accommodations were pleasant, with comfortable bed, hot water and everything you would expect in a budget hotel. We liked it because we were close to everything. In defense of those complaining about smelly rooms, we had a dehumidifier in ours so the room was always fresh. Breakfast was good and hearty, and kept us full until dinner. Close to restaurants, fast food and a Piggly Wiggly grocery store.

My company booked this or I would have definitely changed hotels. Carpet was dirty! Needed replaced centuries ago. There where cigarette holes in carpet, on toilet seat , and in shower. Chairs in room very dirty. Mattress was lacking. Yes it was supposed to be non smoking. Smelled musty. Did not stay to eat next morning. I wouldn't trust the food based on room. No elevator was the pits also.

I stayed there with my family and left at 5am for our next destination. After traveling for a min I realized me and my brother forgot a couple things. Called the hotel at 8am and they said they'd mail it back to me. I had to call them everyday for a week to see if they found them and they never did. Lost some real sentimental things cuz no one communicated there. Very disappointed. I called with in plenty of time it should have been found

I feel bad writing this review because I only like to write positive reviews. However, I do want to help folks as they make decisions on where to stay. We stayed here for one night. The staff were very nice when we checked in, but at 11:30pm, we went to bed and could not believe it, there was sand in our bed! We had to ask for a new set of sheets and replace the sheets ourselves. We had our children with us so it was not a good situation. When we spoke with the manager about it, she acted like she did not believe us. She even suggested that maybe we had sand on our feet when we got into bed. Well, we had only been shopping that day and not on the beach. Plus, we had showers prior to going to bed. It was very unfortunate because we really thought the people there were nice. Check your bed before you pay.

Clean and no bugs, but many things in disrepair. Walking up to the front door, the sign was off the building. Inside the front door an employee was sprawled out on the couch. Person at the desk in a gravely voice simply said "credit card and i.d." Wallpaper coming off the wall. It's an older hotel that has been neglected. A nice room is a big part of having a nice vacation. Spend the extra twenty bucks and get a nice room.

I booked a room for a weekend trip and the hotel was adequate. It's definitely not a 5 star but it served the purpose. It was close drive to the beach, there were a lot of eateries and it was a quiet rest to sleep. The bathroom was clean and the linen was fresh. When I first walked into the room, I definitely smelled smoke but after spraying lysol on the carpets, linen and keeping the room cool, I didn't experience any problems. I would recommend this place due to the low price but if you want anything more... definitely check out the more expensive hotels.

I stayed here two nights in May. The outside of the hotel is showing its age. The front desk person could have been friendlier. The first room I was given smelled of smoke or mildew. I was given another room which smelled better but not great. The two nights I stayed there I was freezing even though I didn't have the a/c on and it was 80 degrees outside. It was due to the moisture and clammy feeling the room had. It was not a pleasant experience and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere else.

My friend and I stayed there during Myrtle Beach Bike week in mid-May. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and were checked in promptly. Our room was clean and both of the beds were VERY comfortable! The room has a full bathroom with tub (some hotels are downsizing to shower only so I thought it was worth mentioning) and the usual toiletries if you forget anything (more available at the desk if you need). Free breakfast = REAL breakfast. Not just doughnuts/coffee. Eggs, sausage, hold & cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee/tea and make your own waffles! So my only critiques..and they are so minor that it is no big'd be nice to have bacon & sausage available since so many people prefer the former...and I'd like to suggest that the cleaning crew is NOT rushed to clear the available food away at 9:30 sharp. Maybe just stop putting new items out at 9:30 at let some stragglers have a chance to grab a little but of what's left over (I saw a half tray of eggs get thrown away) and I also suggested extending breakfast hours to 10am on weekends when people like to sleep late. Again that last part is just my two cents. I still think this place deserves 5 stars, especially based on all the wonderful ladies at the front desk who were so friendly and helpful. The rates are hard to beat and you are only a short drive to the beaches (Surfside, Garden City, etc) and all the great restaurants in Murrell's Inlet.

Friendly and courteous staff. you talk about old fashion southern hospitality, you find it here. Have been staying at this hotel every year since 2006. staying anywhere from 5 to 7 nights. on several ocasions we have made a return trip in the same year. front desk staff and hotel manager are the same staff since we have been staying here. if you have a problem or concern, speak up let them know and they will look to make it right. breakfast selection is very good. you are also close by to all major attractions in the Myrtle Beach area.
