We had a very pleasant stay at Leeds Apartments. Yes, the rooms are outdated, small and the bed was uncomfortable but if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep then this is perfect. The owner was more than accommodating to us when we arrived early and let us store our bags. We had a great conversation with him on our last night and he was extremely nice. You are so close to the town but a nice barrier of streets stops noise from the bars and restaurants. You are getting what you pay for here. We were too busy exploring the beauty of the island to spend any time inside anyway. Considering Mykonos is rather expensive, it's a good place to save on accommodation so you can splurge on food or shopping in town.
After reserving online and checking payment method "visa", the owner demanded I pay cash. His reasoning: the office is closed and we can only take cash. I was literally flying home the next day so all I had was 25 euro and 50 Canadian in cash - my stay was 32 euro. I told him he could take my Canadian and convert it or take the euros I had left but I was expecting to pay with visa. Anyways, he then asked me to go to an ATM - told him I wasn't doing that because each withdrawal costs $10.00. Then he asked for a picture of my visa - I told him I had a $6,000 limit and there was no way I was letting a stranger take a picture of my card - I want to pay via a machine. Finally he stated I could pay at his office in the morning and I said perfect! My flight leaves at 10:15 so I could meet him anytime at the office .. after all this & spending two hours looking for this place, he changed his mind, gave me the choice of paying cash or leaving ...I told him this is extremely unprofessional - do not give the option of credit card if it is not available ..offering payment methods and then having the machine to accept those payment methods is HIS responsibility. He came rude, angry and offensive. I spent a month traveling around and this is the only terrible experience I had! Save your time and stay else where! I ended up leaving and staying at Hotel Manta and what a wonderful experience! Room was 100X better, easier to find, better location, and the owner was amazing!
It was a horrible experience.OUTRAGEOUS. We stayed in Mykonos (beautiful place) on the 18th of August. We arrived at 11, left the bags in the house of blue windows and terrace being touted in the photo: LEDRA APARTAMENT ( we booked some time ago). That lodging and no other, with the sights and amenities that supposedly has, according to the promotion page and very expensive comparing other accommodations The problems begins here:The man who received us, called Manos, without explanation, made us take the bags, down stairs, walk three hundred meters to reach the other residence of Ledra, which totally unaware, and tell us that this was our accommodation near the center: even remotely similar to the reserved, not for views or for the advertised amenities. Before our questions, he reacts violently, screaming ahhh, yoy are Argentine, Argentines always makes problems, He was very rude and irrespecful. Nevertheless, we decided to stay because it was late and, when we look at the sheet with instructions to retire and some phones, we discover that says in English and no other indications that water is not potable. We never passed something similar. TOTAL SCAM. In every way. AN ABSOLUTE impolite. EXPENSIVE. A KITCHEN virtually nonexistent. A SHAME. REMINDER: Ledra Apartments. MIKONOS. WATCH OUT. I attach photos.
Ledra apartements is some kind of fraud. You book one kind of apartment, shown on the website, sales page etc, but get another. They sell their room eg via booking.com. If you pay in advance you are trapped. They give you a completely different and miserable room.. When we complained they told us it is a better room " an upgrade" but see the pictures below, it is miserable. We were not satisfied at all. The airconditioning was very very noisy which made it hard to sleep There were no facilities to cook since the stove was missing and the separate hot plates available was scrapped I regret that I have to use these harsh words, but they are true. do not book this place. they deceive and lie about the rooms etc.
These apartments are located very close to the town centre which is very handy but I was very disappointed with the apartments themselves. I am pretty much echoing other reviewers here, but I don't feel that the stay was worth the money. You have to email or call the owners in order to get the key as there isn't a reception, which was a pain in itself but would have been bearable if not for the rest. The inside is very outdated, the bathrooms need renovating. Our shower was broken, the clip holding it onto the wall was completely broken and the plastic part of the shower-head with the holes in had fallen off and just been left on the side of the bath so we were showering under a random squirting stream of water spurting out of the pipe and had to hold the "shower-head" up above our heads. They must have known it was broken, I don't see how the cleaner could have failed to notice, and they just hadn't bothered to replace it. The oven/stove combo thing was also very outdated and rusty. I happened to pull it forward and it was filthy behind, there was a smashed egg just sitting there rotting. If you are cleaning a hotel room you need to clean everything even behind/under equipment, beds etc.! The rooms could have definitely done with a good clean and upgrade. I used a towel one day to notice there were some yellow stains on there as if from cigarettes! The beds were quite hard and not the most comfortable, and we could hear quite a lot of noise from the group of young lads staying next door to us. Unfortunately my sister got sick for the last couple of days of the holiday and we had to stay inside a lot, we had to go out when the cleaner came though because she did not seem to want us around while she cleaned. The wi-fi did work well for us. Unlike one of the reviewers before, I will point out that I do usually stay in self catering apartments at the 2 star range and this let them down. A lot are cheap but cheerful with great facilities and kept clean and updated. I wish I had read the reviews before I booked! I was especially worried when I read that people had been robbed! Luckily there is a free to use safe in the apartment. It is such a shame because the location is wonderful, it looks good in the pictures but that just isn't what it looks like in real life. Has the potential to be nice but it seems like the owners just don't care.
Honestly the the guy who greeted us was a super nice guy so I feel bad for any negative input, but I feel I need to speak up as the pictures are very deceiving. The rooms look nothing like they do on any website. My room was tiny and dirty. It needed some major updating. I'm not sure where he got the pictures on the site. The ones that do look the property are majorly photoshopped. The picture shows a pool when there is not one. My girlfriend and I spent almost an hour trying to find the place before having to call and use our minutes. For the price we paid, 170 a night in August, this place is way over priced and I feel like I got ripped off and lied to. Until this property can be majorly updated, and start seeing better reviews, stay away.
As a disclaimer, I usually stay at hotels rather than studios. We had chosen this place as we were arriving from another island and had our flight back to the UK scheduled for the next day. My review may sound overly critical but I think it is justified given that we were charged 135 Euros for a double bed room (about the same we paid for a much nicer hotel close by a couple of days earlier): It all started with the transfers from the port/airport: These can be arranged by the management for you but are charged extra at a hefty 9 euros per person per trip. It is worth noting that neither the trip to the port nor the one to the airport are longer than 10 mins. Most premises in the Greek islands offer this service on a complimentary basis. While I was willing to pay for this extra, the amount charged just seemed outrageous and frankly a bit like a rip off. The rooms are really small, dated, and uncomfortable. To be crystal clear, I would not say there are uninhabitable but completely inadequate at this price point. The bathroom was super old, the bed very uncomfortable and while the room had one window, it had no glazing. All rooms on the premises are very close to each other so you can hear what's going on in the other rooms. During our stay there was a group of teenagers staying in one of the larger studios and were extremely noisy throughout the night. Of course, this is somehow beyond the management's control still it ruined our stay here. Service is non-existent and is restricted to a one page written note on how to perform the check out procedure. On this note, you will also find the charges you will incur when you lose the room or safe deposit box key - a piece of information that makes you feel very welcome... There may be some travellers for which this sort of place is acceptable. However, the price point is simply outrageous so I have to disagree with one of the earlier reviews and say: You do not get what you pay for.
I just slept one night, but it is enough. It is dirty, old, small and noisy. Even the bed is uncomfortable. In addition, there is no wifi, none to assure the service. But terribly expensive ! It looks totally scandalous. Just stay far !
EMAIL THE HOTEL BEFORE ARRIVAL. Email address is on their website. This fixed a lot of the problems people listed. If you let the hotel know your time of arrival, they are there and completely prepared to allow you in the apartments. This was in an excellent location at a REALLY great price. Its not a luxury hotel, but its clean, has excellent views, about a 5 minute walk from the Harbor/town center, and the service was very kind. We were greeted exactly at the time discussed and were shown a map and pointed to places of interest. Our linens were changed and the room was cleaned. Its an older building so there is wear and tear but its a great place to stay. We were not planning on spending much time in our hotel - we spent our days in town and at the beach so it was a great fit for us. Wifi was great and worked perfectly. Its also in a quiet area so we weren't disturbed. It IS a BIG HIKE uphill so if you're someone who has mobility issues, I wouldn't stay here. Overall, it was a great experience and saved us a lot of money for other wonderful experiences.
We could hear every noise from outside. It was cramped especially the show. Beds un comfortable. The landlord offered to arrange a taxi to the airport at twice the price. Overall it was ok for basic Greece but this. Was much higher price.
