This is a nice small hotel with 3-4 rooms. The room size is large with a sitting area, kitchenette, large bedroom and bathroom. What makes this place fantastic is the location. You are almost across the street from the boardwalk and two blocks to the downtown area for shopping and restaurants. What a great location. Just so you are aware there is no staff on premises and everything is self check in and out. The number they give you is a message machine. But it worked out fine and location, location, location. The parking might be difficult if they were full.

We stayed in the "Upper Deck" suite and it was perfect for us. We loved having our coffee on the balcony with the view of the water. It was clean, comfortable, and an easy walk to the beach or main strip of town. Excellent coffee and plenty of restaurants and shops are a very short walk away while the site is peaceful and feels removed from the tourist area. It was great to have a parking spot as we liked some spots on the East side of town which is a short drive. Communicating with the innkeeper over email always got a swift response.

This was perfect! It was cute and clean. Had a small kitchenette and wonderFUL bathroom with amazing tub. We literally wanted to stay another night just for the tub. Easy check-in and check out. Close to “Snug Harbor” restaurant and that was yummy and reasonably priced! Beautiful views! I can’t say enough good things. This is certainly a hidden gem and worth it. ❤️

We had a great stay at Captains Cottages. Our apt was adorable and extremely clean. Huge bedroom with king size, comfortable bed. Big bathroom with whirlpool tub. Great proximity to downtown. We could walk everywhere. We will definitely stay again.

A lovely stay

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights as a little getaway. The cottage was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable as well. There was a strong smell of what we think must be burnt popcorn in the kitchenette area. It wasn’t unbearable though. The kitchenette had everything you would need to cook a small meal which was nice. The disposable coffee cups were so nice to have so we could take a coffee to-go. It was also nice to have some vanilla coffee creamers. It was nice that there were beach towels supplied so we could bring them to the beach. A couple things that I would change is to have a bigger trash bin and to add a recycling bin in the cottage. Also it would be great if the TV had a fire stick or Roku so we could have pulled up a movie to watch. There was just cable. The location of the cottage is so great! Just a short walk to the boardwalk.

Quiet and absolutely spotless. First floor accomodations. Walkable downtown community. Annie's was great for Breakfast. Grand Haven state park, beach and the lighthouses were wonderful. Looking forward to returning to this charming area to paint again soon.

Captain's Cottage is super cute! The pictures really dont do it justice. We were a block from the beach. Snug Harbour and Noto's are a must for waterfront dining. Downtown had lots to offer as well and was walking distance to CC. We had to make a trip to Meijer...also very close...and was astonished at the cleanliness and upscale feel of this store. We had a great, although too short stay, at Captain's Cottage.

My spouse and I agreed that this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The rooms were spacious with large windows and a slight view of the river. Being right by the boardwalk and downtown was wonderful. The front porch was awesome as well
