Didn't realise how close to the bars and restaurants this cottage was until we arrived! Gorgeous suite, spotless and well equipped. The use of the key box made 'check in/check out' super simple. Really lovely place, would absolutely look to book here again if we return to Grand Haven. My only recommendation would be to take an eye mask if you have trouble sleeping in a lit room! I personally don't but noticed how light it was when we woke! We stayed in the upper deck suite. Snacks and parking a great bonus!

Location is outstanding with a view of the water from the front porch. Room was lovely and spacious with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Snacks and drinks were a nice touch and very easy to check in and out of with a lock box. An easy stroll to downtown restaurants and activities. We will definitely be back as we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Fabulous location!! You can walk to all the restaurants and shops and also to the beach. You can't beat this place. The inside was cute, we had a suite with a bedroom, bathroom and living area. There was a little galley kitchen. The entire place was clean and modernized. I would give this place 5 stars, however the sleeper sofa in the Upperdeck unit terrible!! I would suggest bringing an air mattress in place of the sleeper sofa. Other than the issue with the sleeper sofa and a very minor issues or not having coffee filters for the traditional coffee pot this place was great! I would stay here again and just bring a air mattress!

We stayed here for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the room. It was extremely clean and very convenient to everything we wanted to do in Grand Haven. The snacks and drinks were a nice touch.

Stayed here for one night with my daughter while on our way to nearby Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. The Captain's Cottage is a wonderful find. Clean, updated, immaculate inside and out. Great new bathroom with jetted bathtub. Very nice mini kitchen. Small deck with table and chairs. Five minutes from beach. Just a few blocks from downtown shops and cafes yet located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Would choose Captain's Cottage every time over a conventional hotel.

This was a great place to stay! Getting into the room was easy, even though there is no one on site and they use lock boxes. Every time I called with a question I received a prompt response. The suite was very clean and comfortable. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The only minus was that there was no tv in the bedroom, but it looked as though there had been one there at one time, so maybe it was just being replaced. The location is close to downtown, and across the street from the waterfront. Very convenient. Overall, the Captain's Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. We joked that we could live there! :)

We are getting married in Grand Haven in November and wanted to come and check it out. The place is absolutely immaculate. It is within walking distance of the downtown area. You can visit the breweries and walk home! Not that I'd know. They have a deck which I imagine is quite nice when it isn't February. What stood out to me is that the building itself seems to be in great shape -- this shows that the owners actually care. The windows, bathroom fixtures / hottub, fireplace, etc are new or in excellent shape. The tile looks great.. The floors don't shudder when you walk across the room. They didn't just throw a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet over a building that's falling apart (which has actually happened to me!) Did I mention they have a hot tub and a fireplace?

As others have said, this is located within easy walking distance to virtually everything in Grand Haven. The place is immaculate, inside and out. Very comfortable furnishings, and well appointed kitchen. We stayed in the "Aft Cabin" downstairs, and we were surprised to see snacks and drinks waiting for us. Tiffany checked in with us after our first day to see if we needed anything (coffee, towels, etc.), which we did not, but I appreciate that kind of service. I would 't think of staying anywhere else on Grand Haven.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Went there on a girls weekend and we couldn't stop raving about it. It is in perfect condition. The beds (even the pull out couch) are the most comfortable we have ever slept in. It is super clean and just beautiful! Walking distance to town, coffee and snacks included. Even has adjoining rooms for a larger group. Absolutely going back!

It's a lovely place, clean and high standard. It is close to the beach and downtown of Grand Haven (just a walking distance) but still quite from traffic and crowd. Each room has a deck for lovely breakfasts and evenings with stars and wine. Staff is kind and friendly. Truly recommended for couples and families with kids!
