i can't say its a budget hotel as with the same price you can get better places in the city, the room i got was extremly noisy with sound outside of people talking or dragging stuff. cleanlisness is not bad and room service is nice. this hotel has a good location in the middle of the city
we went for a weekend Trip. Hotel is next to Rotana in Al Khuwair...!! Nice and clean room with clean bathroom . Hotel is located in a place which is near to lot of eating joints. Also hotel staff was helpful and had an Inhouse restaurant. Good for an overnight business trip.
Al Khuwair is becoming very much like Al Barsha in Dubai. It is not the most beautiful area but it is a very convenient district with a mix of budget hotels and family apartments as well as more expensive hotels like City Seasons. What is nice is that it is pretty much in the center of Muscat near to both Sultan Qaboos Highway and the Muscat Expressway (the two main roads in Muscat which will take you anywhere). There are also numerous Arabian, Iranian and Indian restaurants nearby as well as TGI Fridays, Burger King, Hardies and other restaurants within walking distance. Not only that, the Muscat Grand Mall and Avenues Mall are pretty close to the mall. About 5 minutes drive. You could probably walk if it wasn't to hot but it is too hot now. It should only cost OMR1 to get a taxi to the mall but taxis may charge OMR2. In the malls you have a lot of stores like Polo, H & M, Payless, Mango, Boots, Hallmark, Borders, Aldo, American Eagle, Cotton On, Forever 21, LC Waikiki and R & B (2 brands I never heard of but worth a visit because they are reasonably priced), and restaurants to choose from like Nandos, Ruby Tuesday, Chillis, The Thai Kitchen, ShangThai, Caribou, Starbucks, New York Fries, Chick Fil A, Chao Kajun Eatery etc. Avenues is the better mall and has a huge restuarant area on the third floor. Also there is a Carrefour and Lulu Hypermarket. The actual hotel was perfect for our needs. It worked out to about OMR26 per night (with the 17% tax) which is definetly on the cheap side for Muscat as hotels in Muscat are more expensive than hotels in places like Dubai. The staff were friendly, and they allowed us to pay in cash even though we had a Booking.com booking. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We got a room in the corner and weren't kept awake by any noise. A friend stayed right next to the elevator before and said it was very noisy but we asked for a quiet room and had no problem. There was a mini fridge which we put our own snacks in. The bathroom has a shower that feels like a phone booth because of the way it is enclosed, unfortunately our room did not have a bath. The TV has very basic channels, but there are some English ones. The hotel only gave us one towel each and we never asked for more but you probably could. They also only provided you with one 500ml bottle of water even if there were two. However, we bought a big bottle downstairs for 400 baisa. There is a grocery shop in the City Seasons Hotel called Khimjis which you can get water and snacks from. And there are even a few markets closer by. We stayed there for 3 nights on a long weekend and were surprised because there was always a parking spot even though there weren't that many parking spots. For the ladies: The hotel is on a corner and there is an inexpensive ladies beauty salon called the Pink Pearl down the road on the road where the reception door entrance is. It is on the second floor of an old run down building and not very beautiful inside but the staff are knowledgeable and it is owned by two flight attendants so a lot of flight attendants go there to get beauty treatments such as waxing etc done as it is cheap. I would say the treatments cost nearly a third of the price of places like Tips and Toes. You can get a full Pedicure for OMR6 and they have amazing packages for OMR30 which include a number of different treatments to choose from. Best to book though as they looked busy when I went there.
As it was a business trip, what was required was bed and breakfast and a clean toilet. That was provided. Quite clean with minimal supplies. Complimentary water of half litre is provided only on first day (arrival) and not on all days. No tea or coffee maker in the room. Breakfast and food is tasty and good value for money. Wifi is free and good. TV in the room has only free channels, therefore restricted viewing. Bathroom supplies are frugal. Staff is helpful.
Stayed over during a sudden trip for few meetings. This is a bed and breakfast accommodation, suitable exactly for that purpose. The room is reasonably clean and has bare necessities. AC works! There are many eateries around. The location is just off the main road from the airport to the business district. The staff are a friendly bunch and the best part of the hotel. There is not much else to say! Stay, if you must.
This budget hotel is located at Al Khuwair area. Midway between the airport and the Central business district at Ruwi. But at my appearance, this property looks less like a hotel and more like a moderate overpriced guest house. This hotel is definitely not a tourist destination, only suitable for business stops. But again if your business is at central business district in Ruwi, it does not make sense to be in this hotel. This hotel is located amid the residential areas of Al Khuwair with lots of eating options around. Probably that can only be termed as the plus for this hotel. Otherwise the rooms are clean, spacious, staffs are very co-operative and courteous. But somehow I didn’t get the feelings of being in hotel since when I entered in the room. The hotel is not having swimming pool, but there is a gym, and probably a conference facility. The restaurant serves Indian breakfast. The hotel is overpriced in compare to the amenities and luxury it provides. Definitely it does not appear to be worth of what it charges. Stay for a couple of days is ok, but not good for a longer stay
We (group of five friends) stayed in this hotel during our first and last days of our Oman trip. We arrived to Muscat very early in the morning and were allowed to checked-in earlier than usual (between 9-10 without additonal charge). Staff was very helpful, rooms were large enough. There are malls and restaurants nearby and airport is easily to reach.
My friend and I stayed in this hotel for one night initially. I was quite pleased with the last minute booking as I only booked it only 2 days before. The hotel is a good transit hotel. Facilities were okay. The only problem I had was the air con which was a bit too noisy. Other than that, the location of the hotel is good with access to the main highway and also near Lulu Hypermarket (5 minutes drive) and Grand Oman Mall. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore on foot around the hotel. We decided to extend the stay in the hotel for another 1 more night for logistics purposes.
Hotels in Muscat can be quite expensive, so I was happy to find this reasonably priced hotel for 3 nights, located between the airport and the main part of Muscat, what means that exploring the city is only possible by taxi or local transportation. My hotel room on 3rd floor on the main road side with view of the Al-Zawawi Mosque was equipped with A/C, shower with hot water, TV and two beds. Cleanliness was ok (I don't freak out over black hairs or slightly run down premises), staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel is mainly frequented - I found - by people from the Mideast, what's also reflected in the selection of the very tasty breakfast buffet (additional fee apply) with dishes all unknown to me (some white toast, jam and butter will satisfy the Westerner's craving). There are some good options for food within walking distance, try out the shoarma places around the corner, or the Indian place down the road. There's also a supermarket nearby.
This is a very good Hotel to stay in if you are here for 1 or 2 nights , it is not a bad hotel it is very good for a budget hotel, the staff here are very friendly , my reason of stay here was that the apartments next to that hotel , their water got cut off so i had to book this hotel , my stay here was quite pleasant , i did enjoy the breakfast it was delightful , the rooms there are quite small , i booked a deluxe room , the only different between that and a normal room was a divider that it , in the deluxe room there are no dividers between the living room and bedroom they are only in normal rooms , but the good part about this Hotel is that there are restaurant's and small convenient stores nearby which is only 2 min walking distance away from the Hotel. My final Verdict is 7/10
